Di's Digi Challenge - Button, Brads, and Bows

I'm joining the current Buttons, Brads and Bows challenge at Di's Digi Challenge Blog. I have to admit that I was so struck by Nancee's card this week that I had to purchase Di's Stitched For You digital image .  One of my favorite things about digital images is the instant download.  I purchased, printed, colored and created this card so quickly! The image was printed onto X-Press It card stock.  It has been colored with Prismacolor pencils and Copic Markers.  The image panel was die cut with a stitched square from Gina Marie Designs. I used a template for the spool shaped card, but it could have been easily cut freehand.  Below is the template that I found through a Google search.  It was provided by Sweetly Scrapped. A seam tape ribbon, button and sentiment from Hero Arts finishes the card.  The shaped card was also wrapped with the seam tape. We dare you to create a smile : February moodboard

There is a fun inspiration moodboard over at Create A Smile this month.  I chose to use the colors and bird image for my inspiration. My project features a freebie digital image from Create A Smile called Bird with Coffee.  I love the bold lines and fun design of this coffee image.  Digital images are so fun and versatile!  I printed the coffee cup at 3.5 x 5 inches then fussy cut and mounted it only a small note card.  The cup cozy and heart were paper pieced.  I colored the cup, lid and bird with Copic Markers.  Of course, I had to add a little pom pom to the cute hat! Birthday with Doll Detectives

If you are a fan of Scooby Doo (Like Me) then you must check out this adorable digital set from Paper Nest Dolls called Doll Detectives . This new-to-me set includes all four characters, the pup and the Mystery Machine.  My first card started with the van which I fussy cut then traced onto folded cardstock to create the shaped card.  It was colored with alcohol inks.  The pup was also fussy cut, colored with Copic Markers then attached with dimension foam.  A birthday stamp from my stash fit the van perfectly! I kept the second card clean and simple.  The characters were colored with Copic markers and a computer generated sentiment was created using MS Word.  The image panel was layered onto lavender cardstock (shows darker in the photo). Catch the Bug Oldie But Goodie - Polar Bear

The Bugaboo Design Team is sharing inspiration featuring images from the shop that you may have missed.  This one is called Polar Bear and you can pick it up for $1.00!  Isn't he adorable?  AND perfect for winter projects. One of the things that I love about working with digital images is the ability to resize.  To create this shaped card I printed the bear out at 5 inches tall!  He was fussy cut, colored with copic markers and adhered to Perfect Plum cardstock from Stampin' Up!  I fussy cut again around the card base to create the final shaped card.   The image was printed onto designer papers twice for the scarf.  I then paper pieced and attached the scarf.  Don't forget to mark your calendars for the Annual Holiday Chaos week of fun starting Saturday, December 2 at Catch the Bug.  There will be a new challenge each day and lots of prizes!
