Hero Arts is hosting a month long challenge to celebrate National Craft Month. Each week is a different inspiration prompt. I'm participating this week with a mixed media retro birthday card. I went through my stash and found this retired Poly Clear set called Sew Stylish. The ladies in the set are so stylish it was hard to resist! My card started with the ink smooshing technique using various Tombow markers and distress inks. The ink was repeatedly "smooshed" onto water color paper until it was covered. The background stamp is from Hero Arts Simple Handmade Poly Clear set and was applied with Dusty Concord Distress ink. The color combination is out of my normal comfort zone, but I am happy with the result! Finally, the image was colored with Copic markers and fussy cut then adhered to the base.
