Beccy's Place Challenge - Anything Goes + BINGO

There is still time to join the March challenge at Beccy's Place .  It's always Anything Goes with one of Beccy's digital or clear stamps.  Beccy also provides an adorable freebie each month which can be used, but is not required. I love Beccy's critters and the new March digital set Flockstar was a must-have!  This set includes four adorable flamingos and five coordinating sentiments.  Both pre-colored and B&W images are included in the set.   Beccy has the most beautiful pre-colored images!  I have merged three of the flamingos and layered a coordinating sentiment using Microsoft Word for my card. I chose to use the BINGO card options of Emboss, Digital Image and Stitches.  The base panel is an inked tropical leaf emboss folder that I purchased at Michael's years ago.  The image panel was die cut with a wonky stitched die.  A few pink gems finish the card. Be sure to check out all of the fun digital images in Beccy's online...

Happy Mother's Day with Hero Arts

I'm getting started on my Mother's Day card with this mixed media design featuring Hero Arts Protea Flowers set and an older Eucalyptus background stamp. I used an older (but effective) emboss resist technique for the base panel.  Hero Arts inks were blended over the embossing.  A piece of netting from my stash, gems, ribbon and a few sprig dies finish the card.  Of course, the protea was embossed and die cut simply. Sweet 'n Sassy Anniversary 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

My brother and sister-in-law will be celebrating their wedding anniversary this month.  I recently purchased the With Love Clear Stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps which is perfect for the occasion. I started by stamping the Bible verse with black VersaClaire ink then embossing with clear powder.  Spellbinder circle and scalloped dies were used to keep focus on the versa.  It was adhered to designer papers from Carta Bella Summer Market with dimensional tape.  A few yellow and green enamel dots finish the card. Art Impressions - Gotta Garden Set

I've had such a fun time this month sharing inspiration with Art Impressions stamps.  I would like to say Thank You to Art Impressions for allowing me to join them this month!  Today I would like to share a  summer card featuring Gotta Garden Set 5000 . The summer growing season is short in Alaska.  My husband and I take full advantage of the extended summer daylight and plant both vegetables and flowers.  We never know what will flourish each year, but we enjoy the process regardless.   I stamped the image onto X-Press It card stock with Versa Clair black ink then embossed with clear powder.  Copic markers were used to color the image then die cut with Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circle die cuts. The image panel was adhered with dimension tape to designer papers from Echo Park Homegrown paper pad.  Twine and a coordinating sentiment complete the 4.5 square card.

HMFMC #387 Anything Goes Option Dots and/or Stripes

I'm joining House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge with a fun Birthday card.  I found this adorable retired House Mouse Designs stamp during a recent trip to a local thrift store.  It's called Jalapeno Peppers from 1998.  It was sold by Stampa Rosa (no longer in business). I stamped the image then clear embossed.  The image was colored with Tombow markers, die cut and sponged.  It was layered onto pattern paper from My Favorite Things Cool Collab paper pad. HMFMC #341 Anything Goes + option of Embossing

I'm joining the current House-Mouse & Friends Monday Challenge with a fun card featuring Say Cheese (HMP31) by Stampendous. The image was colored with Tombow Markers and fussy cut.  I chose to include the option of embossing with a camera emboss folder.  The sentiment is from MFT placed over the negative of a MFT sun die that I came across in my scraps.  I think it worked perfectly!   I'm sharing a Thank you card with the current Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge.  My card features a couple of Hero Arts wood mounted stamps bought locally - K1633 Mum Flower and C3016 Written Thank You. The mum was embossed with white powder.  I'm also joining the current Sketch Saturday challenge which is great for all of the scraps that I have in my stash.  The papers for this design is from Pebbles Garden Party Paper Pad. I finished the card with machine stitching along the designer paper edge and enamel dots. Di's Digi Design Challenge - Emboss It

I'm joining the current embossing challenge at Di's Digi Challenge Blog.  I colored the adorable Sweet Moments digital image with Copic Markers.  It's very subtle, but the base panel was dry embossed with a heart folder.  The Anniversary sentiment was wet embossed in white.  The image was layered onto designer papers from Pebbles Inc Garden Party paper pad.  A button and ladybug were added from my stash to finish the card. Stay Crafty With Hero Challenge: #14 Critters

I pulled out the June 2020 MMH kit to play along with the current critters challenge.  I absolutely LOVE this kit!  Of course, I had to purchase this kit since it's perfect for Alaska! I started with a distress ink base then embossed the borealis cling stamp.  The emboss resist technique is perfect for this background.  I used the Hero Arts blue reactive ink on the edges.   The critters (whale & eagle) were embossed and die cut.  To finish the scene, I die cut the light house which came with the set.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but I applied vellum to the lighthouse to represent light rays. Stay Crafty with Hero Challenge #12 Friendship

Happy Saturday everyone!  I'm sharing my very first card created with the June 2020 Hero Arts Monthly kit.  I have to admit, I loved the aurora borealis background stamp but I was a little intimidated by it.   When I received my kit I was SO surprised at how big the cling stamp actually is. I started by stamping with versafine the background stamp onto the black water color paper that came with the kit. I then used white embossing powder and followed with various Pearl Ex paints to "create" the borealis.   Here is a photo of the background before the card was assembled.  I finished the card by layering the mountain and tree dies from the kit.  The whale image and sentiment were stamped with VersaClaire and adhered.  The panel was adhered to a white A2 card base. I was inspired by a couple of the Hero Arts designers.  Jessica Frost-Ballas has a great YouTube video using the background.  Also, Julee Tilman's fabulous ...

My Favorite Things Camp Create - Day 2 Remarkable Resist

I'm back with Day 2 of Camp Create with My Favorite Things.  Counselor Barbara demonstrated a great emboss resist technique for Day 2.  My card started by stamping poppies from MFT's retired Pretty Poppies set and embossing with white powder.  I water colored the panel with distress inks then applied ink directly around the poppies. I recently ordered the MFT Prayers die-namic and it worked perfectly with this set and sentiment. I'm sharing my card with the following: Simon Says Wednesday:  Make Your Own Background MFT Camp Create - Day 2 Remarkable Resist Word Art Wednesday- #396 - #397 Anything Goes

A Blog Named Hero June Challenge - Sympathy

I hope everyone is having a fun and safe 4th of July!  I'm joining the current challenge at A Blog Named Hero with a clean and simple sympathy card. I have been challenging myself to use other coloring mediums and techniques.  These Twinkling H20's have been in my crafty stash for a long time.  I decided that the Botanical Peony from Hero Arts would be perfect for water color.  I started by embossing the image in gold on water color paper.  I painted with Sweet Lavendar and Moss Green paints. The card was finished with a Hero Arts sentiment, sequins and water color splatters.  I have layered it with Wisteria Wonder from Stampin' Up! Clean and Simple Father's Day

I completed my final Father's Day card tonight!  I pulled out an older Memory Box set called BBQ Penguin for my card.  The penguin and grill were both heat embossed with CTMH black powder.  The hat was paper pieced with scrap paper in my stash. The background was sponged with Memento Bamboo Leaves and Bahama Blue inks.  I kept the card clean and simple without embellishments for easy mailing.
