  I'm joining the March Mix It Up Challenge with the color prompt.  I LOVE this sweet retired Sugarcut called Homescape.  The sky was sponged with Memento inks for the color prompt. The sentiment is from SugarPea Pretty Peonies set. The landscape die was perfect for the mini slimline design (6 x 3.25).   I'm playing along with the Hero Arts Challenge featuring their layered pumpkin patch kit.  This was so fun to create and perfect for Fall themed projects. This kit is still available in the shop at $34.99 it's a steal!  This was my first time to play with the kit, but I'm looking forward to using this for my Thanksgiving cards this year. I've included the Hero Arts recipe for the layers.  It's a perfect jumpstart for using this kit.  Now, I can play with a variety of colors.   Fall is certainly in the air here in Alaska!  Our leaves have turned and we've seen several light frosts.  Time to harvest our garden for the year! I'm joining the current Fall Festival Fun at Your Next Stamp with this clean and simple design.  My card features the adorable Scarf Weather set.   The image was colored with Copic markers and stamped using "One Third" of the panel.  I'm combining my card with the current AAA Cards Case challenge. I sponged a cloudy background with Memento inks and a scallop die.   I'm playing along with the current Anything Goes challenge over at Mo's challenge blog.  I've merged two of Mo's digital images to create this scene.  Thinking of You and Beach Elements 1 . The image was colored with Copic Markers.  The sky was sponged with Memento ink and a scallop die to create the clouds.  Memento ink was lightly sponged for the ocean and sand.  Designer papers are from Bo Bunny Key Lime paper pad. This will be going to a co-worker who is retiring soon.  I love this sweet image and it works perfectly for a going away card. I'm joining the current Power Poppy Challege featuring their beautiful Peonies Digital Stamp set .  Hurry, it's on sale now for $2.49! I followed Julie's tutorial HERE which shows how to apply a quick splash of color by stippling inks.  Love this technique! Following Julie's example, I started by stippling Memento Rose Bud ink in the centers of the flowers.  I then came back with Angel Pink Memento ink.  The leaves were stippled with Bamboo Leaves.  I finished the panel by flicking the Bamboo Leaves ink mixed with a little water using a toothbrush. A machine stitched border, sentiment from Sweet 'n Sassy, designer paper from Pebbles Garden Party and brads finish the card.  My card was also inspired by Julie's Rock Your Mojo challenge.  I LOVE peonies... the smell and huge blooms remind me of my childhood.  My mom and grandmothers all had peony bushes.  I have about a dozen bushes around my yard and they are currently in...

I completed my final Father's Day card tonight!  I pulled out an older Memory Box set called BBQ Penguin for my card.  The penguin and grill were both heat embossed with CTMH black powder.  The hat was paper pieced with scrap paper in my stash. The background was sponged with Memento Bamboo Leaves and Bahama Blue inks.  I kept the card clean and simple without embellishments for easy mailing. Good morning!  I'm sneaking in a last minute entry for the March challenge at A Blog Named Hero .  This month's challenge was to create using the theme "Love is in the Air" and a color inspiration. My clean and simple card was inspired by a January Kit Release card posted by Michelle Short .  I LOVE clean and simple designs and this one really caught me eye! I started by stamping the containers and floral images from the January My Monthly Hero Kit .   The images were colored with alcohol markers.  I sponged the partial background using Memento inks - Lilac Posies and Angel Pink.  A sentiment from the kit finishes the card. I'm sharing a fun Fall digital stamp with the November Share Your Design Challenge at Gerda Steiner.  My card features their adorable Happy Fall digital image. The image was colored with Copic Markers and sponged with Memento inks.  The designer paper is from the Paper Studio.  I kept it embellishment free as it will join my Thanksgiving cards to friends and family out of state this year.
