Bugaboo - Stella Says Sketch #504

Welcome to a new Stella Says Sketch Challenge with Catch the Bug !  My card features an adorable pup from the new Birthday Puppy Set . The image was fussy cut and layered onto designer papers from My Mind's Eye. A stitched border and enamel dots  finish the card.  The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I must admit that I had a little help with this card.  My husband and I just returned from our winter trip to Maui. My parents met us for a few days and my mom colored for the first  time with Copic Markers. I think she did a great job! She may have a new hobby! One of the fabulous Maui Sunsets Maui Waterfall on the road to Hana  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the Blog for all of the challenge details, prizes and Design Team inspiration.  I'm sharing my card with the following: Brown Sugar Challenge:  #238 Birthday   Word Art Wednesday:  Anything Goes #...

Unity Friends with Flair and Sketch-N-Scrap #52

The week's seem to fly by and we are back to play along with Unity's Friends with Flair blog hop party. I made a promise to myself that I would scrapbook this year's vacation before  next year.  You smile, but pictures are still in  my drawer from our last two annual vacations! UGH! Unity kits and IttyBitty stamps have really inspired me to use more stamped images with my scrapbook layouts. Here's what I came up with this week. I can't believe how quickly it all went together! The following Unity stamp sets were used: Beautiful Place, Clear Head All day pass (to the beach) Epic Moments SMAK 6/13 Here's close up so you can see how beautifully the sun ray image from "Epic Moments" stamped on the Kraft: The sketch inspiration came from  Sketch~N~Scrap Challenge #52 : Thanks for stopping by for a closer look! Paper Smooches Sparks - Anything Goes Challenge

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Saturday! We are having a beautiful, sunny day. When I saw this week's Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge was "Anything Goes".  I knew I wanted to create a scrapbook layout using photos from our recent trip to the island of Maui. I have used  " Surf & Turf " from Paper Smooches Stamps and Polaroid die . The seaweed is from Kim's "Ocean Friends"set. The layout was created by combining stickers, designer papers, stamps and a Hero Arts stencil.  Below is a closeup of the  stenciling process.  It's difficult to see in the photo, but I applied a layer of Liquitex gloss heavy gel for texture. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look! I am also entering this into the  following: April Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search and Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #140

100 Follower Celebration and Show Me Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and survived the day. I am trying to get back into the routine after being away for a couple of weeks. DH and I just got back from a nice, relaxing trip to the island of Maui. I won't bore you to much, but thought  I'd share a couple of photos before getting to my post for the night! Gorgeous Maui sunset taken on the beach behind our condo. Beautiful hibiscus.  I thought the color was so unusual! Okay, so I noticed the other day that I am so close to a really great follower milestone.  Paulette at Create with TLC has generously offered to provide a fun digital image as a freebie giveaway to celebrate when my followers reach 100 ! Sassy Cheryl Show Me #66

I am still getting caught up from being away on vacation for two weeks. I really planned to play along with the Sassy Cheryl challenge this week, but time got away from me. So, I'm here to share with the "Sassette's" with this week's Show Me. You can find more details about the challenge on Cheryl's blog HERE. I'm sharing a couple of photos from our recent stay on Maui. I really enjoy the tropical flowers and especially the Bird of Paradise. This bush was at our condo. This photo was taken at the Swap Meet each Saturday in Kahalui. A local artist paints coconuts and then creates this adorable 3-D art. (You may have to click the photo to enlarge and really see what he's done!) It was so unusual and really inspirational. Between work and home I really haven't been able to create this past week. I hope to get back into the swing of things again soon. Thanks for stopping by to check it out! Be sure to leave a note and say Hello.

Sassy Cheryl Show Me

I have missed out sharing for the past couple of weeks. My husband and I just got back from two weeks on the island of Maui. As some of you know, the Alaskan winter has been COLD and SNOWY this year! We were very glad to escape for a little while to warm sandy beaches. This was a sunset on the beach across the street from our condo. Maui has a fabulous swap meet/farmers market every Saturday in Kahului. The Meet is held on the grounds of their Community College and these gorgeous hibiscus bushes were along the entry way. The blooms were huge! Finally, I wanted Cheryl to know that I did manage to get in some coloring while on vacation. LOL! After a day at the beach I sat at the lanai window and colored some of the digital images I had printed and brought along. You may notice a sea shell sitting by my pencils. This was the only thing I could find in the condo to hold a small of amount of baby oil to use with the Prisma color pencils! I have a few more pictures to share, but wil...
