Unity - Friday Friends with Flair

This has been such a busy and long week for me.  I am so excited that it's Friday and time to hop along with Unity's Friends with Flair blog hop . If this is your first time to join the fun, here are the quick details.  Unity sponsors a weekly blog hop for anyone who wants to share their creation with Unity Stamps.   We get to hop and see all kinds of fun inspiration.  Then, Unity picks one participant and one blog commenter to win a Unity Prize. How FUN is that! So, here's my card using an Itty Bitty by Joslyn Nielson called " Hubba Hubba ". I've combined it with several of this week's challenges over on Splitcoast Stampers. Thanks for hopping by and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Unity Friends With Flair

Happy Friday!  Every Friday Unity Stamp Company Hosts the Friends With Flair linky party.  This week I have used an Itty Bitty called " Good times all around " for my project.  This image came to mind because a small carnival has come into Anchorage this week.  Every day I see the Ferris wheel and think of this fun set! I have combined it with a the Mix-Ability and Free For All Challenges on Splitcoast Stampers .  The base is acrylic paint which has been swooshed around with a plastic Pampered Chef tool.  We were suppose to use a credit card, but I didn't have an extra.  :-)  Then I splattered various distress inks with a paintbrush to give a confetti effect. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  Hope you have a fabulous Friday.

Mo's Challenge #182 - Pastels

I have a quick post for this week's DP2 Challenge - Pastels .  This is one of my favorite Mo Manning images called "Going Up".  It is so sweet and makes such a quick CAS card! The image was colored with Copic Markers and the balloon was paper pieced with Memory Box gingham paper.  The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC .  I used shades of pink and kept it very clean and simple. The sketch is provided by Teresa Kline for the Splitcoast Stampers April Fan Club: I have also used this month's Fan Club central theme of Hope Floats .  Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

Friends with Flair Friday

It's Friday and that means another Friends with Flair linky party.  I decided to step WAY out of my comfort zone this week and try a mixed media project.  I recently bought "Our House.... Serve the Lord" during one of the fabulous Itty Bitty sales.  I decided it would be perfect for this project. Here's what I came up with: I was inspired by the recent Mix-Ability challenge posted by Dina Kowal on Splitcoast Stamper.   She provide a great video that helped me get started.  You can watch her video HERE .   I started with various acrylic paints and used plastic wrap over the wet pain for some texture.  I applied versafine ink to drywall tape and stamped in the corners.  I also applied acrylic paint to bubble packing and stamped in the opposite corners.  Finally, I brushed on a light coat of white acrylic paint then stamped the image with Versafine black ink.  My pop of color is a red heart brad. Thanks for stopping by for a ...

MelJen Designs Challenge #155

This week's Meljen Designs is "Round and Round " - to include circles on our card.  Here's what I came up with using MelJen's Mama Whale image: The sketch is from this week's Sketch Saturday #254 challenge: The background panel for the card was created by sponging the negative of several Spellbinder circle dies.  This was the challenge for this week's Splitcoast Stampers Mix-Ability challenge.  The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with baby oil. Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!

SNSDC97 - Masculine Birthday

Happy Friday and Welcome to another Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge ! This week's challenge is to create a masculine birthday card using your digital images.  I must admit that masculine cards are difficult for me so this was definitely a challenge.  Luckily, the Sweet 'n Sassy shop is full  of fun images for all ages of boys and men.   Here is the card that I created for this week's challenge:  I chose to use this sweet pre-colored pup image called " Spot ".  Pre-colored images are so convenient when I need to create a card on the fly!  I printed the image twice and cut out the nose/mouth then popped it up on dimension tape.  It gives just a little additional dimension and interest.  The birthday sentiment is from the " Masculine Birthday Greetings " set. Finally, I created my card using this fabulous sketch provided by Korin for this week's Splitcoast sketch challenge .  Check it out and play along! A few things...

Create with TLC - You are the Song....

Happy Wednesday!  The work week is officially more than half over.  I picked up this sweet Free vintage image from the Create with TLC last week as I was browsing the shop.  Paulette is so generous with her creations.  You never know when a freebie will pop up on the blog or in the shop!  If you are a digital stamper, or want to experiment with digital, stop by Create with TLC and take a look. Here's the card that I created combining two free Create with TLC digital images from my stash: The image has such a sweet vintage feel!  I have combined it with designer papers from the Basic Grey Serendipity paper pad.  The card layout was provided by Janette for this week's Splitcoast sketch challenge .  I really liked all of the layers and it was perfect for this digital combo. I am also entering this into this week's Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #52: Anything Goes . Thanks for stopping by for a closer look!  I always enjoy reading your com...

There She Goes Inspiration Challenge

Good morning!  I am back this morning with a quick post for this week's There She Goes Inspiration Challenge .  This week, Candace provided the following inspiration photo: I chose to focus on the colors provided in the photo - green, pink and white.  I needed a break from creating Winter themed cards so I chose to use Chris Dark's set " In All the World " for my card. This sweet scene was colored with Copic Markers.  The designer papers are from Basic Grey Olivia paper pad.  I have omitted a sentiment so this could be used for any occasion.  I like having several of those in my stash so that a sentiment can quickly be added to fit the occasion. Finally, this card is also uses this week's Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge .  Below is the sketch that Janette provided: Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you are having a fabulous weekend.

The Sweet Stop Sketch 176

This week on the Sweet Stop blog , the ladies have provided a "Spin" with the sketch.  Our challenge is to create a "Welcome Fall" project.  I was recently the lucky winner of Sweet 'n Sassy's " Autumn Bounty " clear stamp set.  What a perfect set to welcome Fall! I took a little different direction with the sketch this week and actually used the left diagonal panel as the card front; exposing the inside.  Below is a photo of the card front: Next is a photo with the card opened: The pumpkin image was colored with Copic Markers then die cut with Spellbinder nestibilities.  This is a standard A2 card size (5.5 x 4.25) and the front of the card was cut diagonally then layered with designer paper.  I added a Prima leaf and a rhinestone sticker that I found at Micheal's yesterday.  I am also submitting this for the Sweet 'n Sassy September Fall Frenzy Virtual Stamp Day over on Splitcoast Stampers.  Giovana challenge...

Sassy Cheryl Challenge #127 - All About the Boys!

This week's Sassy Cheryl Challenge is "All about the Boys! ".  I had this sweet Noah and patches image on my desk ready to color.  I don't have any young boys in my family, but I'm sure that someone will enjoy this sweet little card. The image was colored with Copic Markers and paired with Basic Grey Oxford designer papers.  I used this week's sketch provided by Korin over on the Splitcoast challenge forum. This also qualifies for this week's Sweet 'n Sassy Digi Challenge "Beary Special" .  We were asked to use a digital bear image with our project for this week.

There She Goes - Winged Things Challenge

This week's challenge on the There She Goes blog is to use "Winged Things".  I have been itching to ink up this adorable little image from "In all the World" by TSG.  I think that the butterflies qualify for the challenge and I added a die cut butterfly from Amuse studio as well.  The image was colored with Copic Markers.  Stickles and gems were added to the flowers.  Stampin' Up! pearls were added to the die cut butterfly. The layout is from this week's sketch Card Positioning System Blog .  Such a versatile sketch with lots of possibilities! We are having fabulous summer weather here in Anchorage!  Sunny, clear skies and warm temperatures.  DH and I hope to take full advantage tomorrow with a day trip out of town to enjoy the Alaska scenery.... maybe hiking or fishing.  Hope you have plans for a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look.

My Favorite Things Challenge

Above is the sketch provided for this week's MFT Wednesday Stamp Club over on Splitcoast Stampers.  While reorganizing my craft room I found a stack of textured cardstock.  I thought this would be the perfect time to try the no-coloring technique that the MFT design team showcased last Fall.  This is what I came up with: This sweet Pure Innocence image " Peek-a-boo " was stamped using Memento Rich Cocoa.  The designer papers are from Pinkpaislee's Prairie Hill paper pack.  The paper flowers and leaves were made with the MFT " Upsy Daisy " Die-namics.  Here is a photo of the finished inside of the card as well.  I really want to be more consistent with finishing the inside of my cards as well! Thanks for stopping by to take a closer look!  I always enjoy reading your comments.  Have a great Memorial Day!  Thanks to all of the men and women who have served (or are serving) in our armed forces.

There She Goes Sketch Challenge: TSG150 Metal Embellishment

I had so much fun participating in my first There She Goes Challenge that I am playing again this week! Candace has challenged us to make a project or card using metal embellishments. I used metal brads as an embellishment. The image and sentiment are from the "Loads of Fun" set. The Spotlighting technique was used with the laundry basket image. It's a really fun technique with an effective result. This card also uses the color challenge combo from Splitcoast Stampers: Peach Parfait, Pool Party and Lucky Limeade. Supplies: Stampin' Up! In-Colors and designer papers. Base is Gina K Pure Luxury 120 weight. There She Goes "Loads of Fun" stamp set Cuttlebug embossing folder, Copic Markers and Memento ink Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Have a great week.

Sassy Cheryl #107 - Think Spring

It's another week of challenges on the Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog . Sassy Peggy is our hostess this week and she's "Thinking Spring". When I think of Spring I think of gardening. What better image to represent Spring gardening than Farmer Sally! This is such a sweet image and so fun to color. I've used Prismacolor pencils and baby oil for part of the image. The remainder was colored with Copic Markers. Machine stitching has been added to a few of the layers. The main image was cut with Spellbinders Wonky Rectangles die cut and sponged. The designer papers are from the October Afternoon Farm Fresh paper stack. The base cardstock is Stampin' Up! Close to Cocoa and Wild Wasabi. Thanks for taking a look! This card also uses this week's sketch from Splitcoast Stampers .
