Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #31

Wow, it's Thursday again and time for another Sassy Show Me for those of us who like to peek at each other's workspace and projects for the week!! Check out the details over on Sassy Cheryl's blog , grab your camera and snap a photo of what's going on this week. Below is a photo of my workspace this evening. I have a couple of completed projects, as well as, two of the images I recently bought from Cheryl with my gift certificate. (Bless her heart, she was so patient with me this week) Anyway, I got them printed out this morning before work and would believe that I had printer problems?! Of course, when you are trying to accomplish something quickly before going to work. It's hard to see from the small photo, but the two bottom images printed in blue. Why blue?! I did select the color and I didn't get a message the the black ink cartridge was empty. If you are interested in a short tutorial on the twisted easel card you can check my previous blog post HE...

Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #88

This week's challenge over on Mo's Digital Challenge Blog was "Flowers, Flutters, Fairies, Flowers, Fancy Fold... Choose Any or All". I decided to make a Fancy Fold with Flowers. For my fancy fold I've made a twisted easel card. It's really easy and has a provides a great presentation for your focus image. So, I've tried to give you a quick step by step below: First, I cut my base card stock in a 4.25 x 4.25 square. Then I scored the front panel from the lower left hand corner to the top right hand corner. Then I colored Mo's digital image "Eileen" and attached it to a Spellbinder nestibilities frame. Only the bottom section of the image has been attached to the front panel of the card. This is the final result. You "twist" the front panel and the main image pops up. I've finished the inside with a sentiment panel and chipboard flower which enables the front panel to stand. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Lea...

What you see on my workspace tonight is a completed challenge card for Crafty Secrets and The Cat's Pajamas. Also, images are ready to color for this week's My Favorite Things challenge. So many Challenges and so little time!! Hubby has his home and garden projects caught up so this weekend is time to play! I will be away from the computer and stamping room for two whole days. Mo's Digital Pencil - Challenge #87

This week Dawn challenged us to use our Mo's Digital images to create a Tag AND use our favorite embellishment. You can find all of the details HERE . I used the adorable Eileen image that I recently purchased from Mo's store. The image was printed directly to the pre-fab tag. I printed the image again on October Afternoon dp and cut out pieces for her scarf, gloves and apron pocket. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. I've also attempted to make an envelope for the tag. I free-handed it based upon the measurements of my tag. Finally, my current favorite embellishments are Baker's Twine and felt. I used my MFT die-namics grass die and green felt for the tag. Baker's twine and jute were also used on the tag and envelope. Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! I really appreciate any comments that you leave!

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #29

It's another week of sharing over on the Sassy Cheryl Blog . I'm a little late posting this week, but it's been CRAZY at my house the past few days! As some of you know, I made a surprise visit for my niece's 1st Birthday party. Before I left, my husband decided we needed to have a garage sale upon my return. Well, Friday morning he announced it was time! Yikes! I quickly priced and gathered what I could on Friday night and we put everything out early Saturday morning. THIS WAS A Project!! This photo shows one table of my crafting supplies and the second shows our picnic table covered with more crafting supplies! I have been slowly purging my craft room and I'm still not done with THAT project. We had a beautiful day for the sale and we made more money than I had expected. Unfortunately, the crafty folks must not have seen my ad..... I brought several boxes back into the house for another sale. :( Glad you stopped by to see my project for the week! If yo...

Moxie Fab World: I'm Sew Excited!

When I saw the terrific inspiration provided over on the Moxie Fab World Blog I knew I wanted to use this fun, retro design by Tim Holtz. The challenge theme is sewing related. The main image (don't you love the pill box hat) was paper pieced. Buttons, lace and measuring tape twill have been added. Hope you get a chance to join in the fun! Thanks for taking the time to stop by for a look.

Moxie Fab World: I'm Sew Excited!

I'm Sew Excited! ... that I happened over on to the Moxie Fab World blog and found this fun challenge posted which involves anything sewing themed. Being from a long line of seamstresses, it was only natural to create a couple of projects for the challenge. :-) This little card was created using a Gina K Designs stamp set called " Sew Pretty ". It's a fun retro sewing themed set designed by Asela Hopkins. I've combined it with October Afternoon papers and Stampin' Up! Kraft as a base. I found these adorable scissor brads at my LSS. The perfect finishing touch! Thanks for taking the time to stop by! Hope you have a chance to create a sewing themed card this week for the Moxie Fab challenge!

Moxie Tuesday Trigger and StampTV Fanpage

Lee Murphy has posted a fun New StampTV challenge over on their Facebook page. She asked that we use Summer as our inspiration. I couldn't resist using this sweet birdbath image from Rupa's "Spring has Sprung" set. It's so fun! I've combined my card with this week's Tuesday Trigger over on the Moxie Fab World Blog which is this fabulous inspiration photo. I used the rainbow bright colors in my card, but also the thread was an inspiration. I used embroidery floss to give my card the "rainbow" effect. So Fun! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look! Comments are always treasured.

Sassy Cheryls

This is my submission for Cheryl's Color Me #26 and Challenge #67 to Celebrate Dads. This is for my Brother-in-law who will be celebrating his first Father's Day. I hope he likes it! This sweet image by Cheryl called "Father's Day Bear" was colored with Kooh-I-Nor pencils and baby oil. I knew immediately that I wanted to use this for my BIL! It's so sweet.

Sassy Cheryl's Show Me #28

It's another week of sharing over on Sassy Cheryl's blog. Just take a photo of your current project, post it to your blog and share it HERE . It's so easy and you might win a free Sassy Cheryl digital image. I am still unpacking from my trip to visit family. I haven't had a chance to start any projects in the stamping room so I thought I'd share a couple of pictures from my trip. While I was visiting we did lots of laundry, of course. My niece got to share in the fun by posing in the laundry basket! I know for most of you this is a mundane, everyday task. To me it's a fresh smell of sunshine! I offered to hang out the clothes which I hadn't done since I left home. My mom was more than happy to let me! I love the smell of clean clothes after hanging out in the fresh air and sunshine! Maybe I can get my husband to put out a temporary clothes line for me this summer. It's kind of hard because of the glacier silt which is constantly in the Alaska ...

Show Me 27

It's another week of "Show Me" over on the Sassy Cheryl Blog . I'm having trouble with Blogger so I hope that this post works! I'm visiting family in the lower 48 this week so no stamping projects for me! I have been able to visit a couple of stores -- including Hobby Lobby. The first photo is me with my niece who just turned 1 year old. I came to visit for her 1st birthday party! It was a surprise for my sister who was VERY surprised to see me. We have not seen one another for almost one year! It's been a great visit. I decided to share my parents current project with you this week. (Sorry, the photos loaded in the opposite order) They have to decided to use a small incubator and hatch some chicks. The day I arrived their first chick hatched. You can see their incubator in the second photo and their 5 little chicks in the first photo. It's really been fun watching them grow this week. Hope you have a great week! I will be back later this week playing in...
