Paper: Modern Medley DSP, Very Vanilla and Melon Mambo Cardstock, Silver Glimmer Paper Ink: Jet Black Staz-On, Melon Mambo

POPPY PARADE/CALYPSO CORAL STIPPLED BLOSSOMS

This card combines two challenges: Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #187 and Colour Q Challenge #194 (Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Gumball Green, and Tempting Turquoise). I just recently received the beautiful Stippled Blossoms stamp set, and couldn't wait to use it!  For the roses, I stamped off with Calypso Coral on the base image and stamped the overlay image in Poppy Parade. The base image for the leaves were stamped off in Gumball Green, then the overlay image stamped in Gumball Green.

Ink: Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Gumball Green

SUMMER CASEing

My craft room has seen some action since I've been on summer break! I've been making cards copied (CASEd) from other great stamping artists. I truly appreciate a great card design, especially one that makes me want to ink up my stamps and copy it!

This first card was CASEd from Mary Brown's card.  I'm a sucker for Stampin' Up!'s Daffodil Delight, and SU's Polka Dot Parade DSP really shows it off! The sentiment I used is a retired SU rub-on.

I found this next card on Pinterest, and believe it was originally found on the Stampin' Up! website. If that is incorrect, please kindly let me know so I can credit the proper source. The Patio Party DSP (retired) makes this card super easy to put together!  The three cakes are cut out of the designer paper, and raised up on dimensionals.  The only stamping is the "Birthday Wishes" sentiment from Bring on the Cake.
This next card is a CASE of Rita Wright's card.  I love Daffodil Delight paired with Basic Black!  Somehow, my large flower turned out larger that I'd like it to be.  Ugh!  I used SU retired striped grosgrain ribbon for the horizontal center strip in place of the designer paper strip.
This year, I had many graduates to acknowledge, and I made many of these cards!  It was inspired by two cards: Mindy's (Bada-Bing! Paper-Crafting!) card and Teneale Williams card, using the stamp set, Blue Ribbon and Storytime DSP (retired).

Today, my beautiful daughter Allie turned 21!  Here is the card I made for her, a picture of her that I took last night before she went out with friends to celebrate, and candles that I bling-ed out for her.  She requested black, pink and rhinestones for her card, and I was inspired by this card by Andrea Walford. The bling-ed out candle idea is from something I saw on Pinterest.

JUNE weSTAMP

Last night was our monthly weSTAMP Stampin' Up! Demonstrator meeting and swap. I provided this month's Make 'n Take - an altered battery-operated tea light. I've been giving these cute little birthday cakes to co-workers on their birthday, and get tickled over the reaction I receive. They love having them lit up setting on their desk or computer on their special day! They are super easy to make, and I used the directions by Jill George, Signed with Ink.
I didn't swap this month, but my friend and downline, Jennie Portonova shared her swap with me. Isn't it gorgeous?! It uses a load of new Stampin' Up! products: Daydream Medallions, Floral Frames Framelits, 3/8" Sittched Satin Ribbon, Delicate Designs Folders, Large Scallop Edgelits, and the new In Colors of Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALLIE !!!

Today is my daughter Allie's 20th birthday, and this is her birthday card I designed for her. I used the new hostess stamp set, Array of Sunshine ... and the sentiment is from the new stamp set, Bring On The Cake. I was inspired by Vicki Burdick's card where she ran the Little Leaves die through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. LOVE the texture on those leaves! I was also inspired by Karen Hamon's card and just had to try my hand at the tone-on-tone Lattice Die, her awesome layout and color scheme.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALLIE !!!!

CRAZY FOR BALLOONS

Here is yet another card I've created that I'm not completely thrilled with. Boy, am I ever rusty from very little stamping the past year! Ugh! I'm determined to keep plugging along until I have my old mojo back!

This card uses Jen del Muro's Sketch For You To Try July 2011 and Colour Q Challenge #91 of Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black and Whisper White. The balloon images are from the stamp set, Crazy for Cupcakes, and are paper pieced twice with the top layer raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

The retired Wild Wasabi double stitched grosgrain ribbon is one of the best ribb
ons (in my opinion) that Stampin' Up! has every carried ... love the width, texture, color ... everything about it! It's so easy to work with!

RECIPE
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Island Oasis DP (retired), Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi, Tempting Turquoise, and Whisper White CS
Ink: Basic Black
Embellishments: Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)

SUNFLOWER FLIP FLOPS and RED TOES

This simple card was inspired by Colour Q Challenge #86 of Real Red, Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, and Early Espresso, and Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #119. I immediately thought of this sunflower card we made at a stamp class a couple of years ago when I saw the inspiration socks from the Colour Q. The sunflower is so simple to make - punch with the scallop circle punch, cut with scissors toward the center in each indentation. The center of the sunflower is made using the 1" circle punch.

I have missed Karen Giron's Sweet Sunday Sketches - she designs THE BEST sketches, doesn't she?!
