Teacher Gift Idea - Celebra'tions!

The end of the school year is quickly approaching and there's nothing better than a little coffee gift set to give to your child's teacher!

I've made this adorable little gift set using Richard Garay's Celebra'tion by Spellbinders.
I have used 2 stamp sets for these projects. They really compliment each other well. The coffee set is called, 'Cup for two'. The other set is a combo die and stamp set. I just LOVE how convenient that is. The stamp set is called, 'Sweet Treats'.

Notice the depth of the heart on the card? Well, I took the Celebra'tion's Pierced Hearts Die set and cut the heart from the cup. Then I took the same heart die and cut out a heart in the cup with the words on it. I used foam dots to pop up the piece of card stock with the blue cup on it. and then I put the heart with words on it in the center of the cup but gluing it down to the blue piece of card stock.

Anyone who loves coffee would love this little gift set.
Thank's for visiting today.
I hope you have a wonderful week!

Creating a Fun Stampers Journey Stamp Collage.

Hi there Crafty friends!

Today I have a Fun Stampers Journey Post to share.
I want to share some of my tips on layering inks and creating a mixed media look.
Whether you are creating a card, box, tag or any other project. I suggest taking a piece of card stock that is a little larger than your actual project. For example, the piece I started with was a little bigger than this box I made using Fun Stampers Journey Treat Box Die DI-0006. Reason being is if your card stock fits your project you are going to be thinking where exactly you want to stamp each stamp pattern. We want a 'random look right, off-center. So for me this is the easiest way I can achieve that look.

So now I have my card stock I'm going to create a little collage.

After I trim my paper down to now fit my project I inked the edges in black giving a little border. Then, I added this adorable little Hot Air Balloon from the Lift Me Stamp Set. I used a foam dot to give this some dimension. Wrap some ribbon and pop a bow on and voila!
A daring little gift box!

I hope you enjoy the rest of your week and have a crafty weekend!

Sweet Elle from Unity!

Good Morning Friends!

Today I have a Baby Set to share with you.
I used the adorable Stamp Set from Unity Stamp Co. Sweet Elle

WIB-842-SWEET-ELLE

I used this brown paper bag and created my own little gift bag by covering the front and back in patterned paper. I then cut out my Sweet Elle in a circle. and colored her in with my Copics. I used N0, N1, N3 and N5. The balloon is Y26, Y21 and Y0000. The heart is BG15, BG11, BG10, BG0000.

The little pouch is so simple. You ccan pretty much take any size rectangle and tape the ends in opposite directions. I use double sided tape and crimp the edges. of each closed piece.

You could use these as a gift wrapping, or even put them as place settings at a baby shower.
Super cute little idea and Sweet Elle would be the most cutest theme, too!!

Have a great week everyone!

Turn an old box into Mixed Media Art!

Hi there everyone!

I'm up on the Limor Webber Designs Blog today!
Here's a Mixed Media Box I decorated out of a Levis belt box. I just love how you can use things in your home that you'd normally throw away and turn it into art!
The Sentiment is From Jamie Dougherty's Bloom Girl Anneli.

I really love all of the textures on this box. In the video below you can learn how I layer all of these elements. Sometimes Mixed Media can be a little intimidating when you see a busy project and don't know where to begin or what to do first, such as painting or stamping adding texture paste, etc.

Here's a video tutorial of me creating this little box and all the different stages and textures you build upon. I hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to create your own Mixed Media art!

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I can't believe it's Christmas Eve.
We are having Christmas at my house this year and I'm really excited about it.

Yesterday I cleaned.
Today I'm going to be setting up the tables.
Right now Ralph's making me breakfast. :)
Kids are barely getting up.. well the teenage boy isn't.

Today I'm off and I will have to get up and be at work in the morning at 5am. I hope this will be the last year I have to work on Christmas. That's what I want for Christmas!

Good things are happening in 2015! I can feel it.

Here's an ornament I made using the Julie Nutting wooden ornaments. I painted it with acrylic paints and embossed in gold and used crackle accents a the new Prima Finnabair glitter. I really LOVE the way it came out. The photos really doesn't do it justice.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

A Lili of the Valley Christmas Gift Set.

Hi there crafty peeps!

Here's on of 2 of the project gift sets we will be creating at my class at Custom Impressions this Friday! Isn't it super cute!

This image from Lili of the Valley and is called Shine a Light. I love the rich BG color of this Copic Combo. I used BG72, BG75, BG78 and N7. GORGEOUS! The card is simple, The base is actually an envelope, perfect for a gift card or money for a friend, co-worker teacher etc. I have also made a matching Candle. I really wanted to focus on the pleats in her coat and again show everyone how adding a little 'N7' really makes a huge difference in depth when coloring. My students know it as my 'make it pop'. :o)

If you are interested in this class please Contact Custom Impressions.

Have a wonderful day.

Limor Webber Designs FIRST DT post!

Hello everyone!!
Today is a very exciting day! It's my first post on Limor Webber's Design Team! I couldn't be more happier to be apart of this! :o)

I decided to make a canvas for my first project. I took the colors out of my daughters' comforters and then matched them to my Gelatos®.

First I laid a coat of white Gesso, then I created a rainbow using my Gelatos®  and at first it was very bold and the color was a little too bold compared to my girls' room. So I added more water and blotted the canvas until it lightened. Once it was dry I took my Gelatos® Double Scoop® Color – Black Licorice and went around the entire canvas, I used my finger and pulled some of the black into the rainbow in the same direction. I used the Prima “Bubbles” Stencil  and added bubbles with some molding paste. I shaved off some of all of the Gelatos® and added just a little bit of water over each of the shavings. Then I used my heat tool over them and it was such a cool effect! It bubbled and expanded and left some great texture to the canvas!

I added my quote in some sticker letters and then decided to add some Tim Holtz Rub Ons, Crystal Circles. Then I got out this amazing stamp, IndigoBlu Bubbles Background and stamped all around the canvas and also on the wooden butterflies. I was just about finished and I wanted my bubbles to pop out a little more so I took my Water-colored pencils and traced some of the larger bubbles to define them a little.

One more thing I just HAD to add -- Glass Bead Glitter Gel.. just a little on the bubbles!

I really LOVE this and so do my girls. I hope you all like it!
Have a wonderful day!

Hey there my crafty peeps!
It's my turn to post on the Bloom Girls DT Blog.
I have used Bloom Girl Jing. She's just gorgeous! Honestly I had no clue where this was going. I wanted it to be black and white.. then I thought I'd add pops of pink. Then somehow blue-green got in there! LOL!

I do love the way it came out though.

I have a coloring video I did on Coloring 980191 Bloom Girl Jing. I was hoping to have it up today. But -- Time has not allowed. So, next week it will have to be!

No Line Stamping with a Bloom Girl!

Hello there, It's my turn to share on the Bloom Girls DT Blog!!

Today I have a wall hanging to share. I actually found a 6x7 piece of wood and covered it will all sorts of goodies. I had this piece of Prima paper that had this beautiful border which I never could cover up. So I decided to stamp Bloom Girl 'Karlie' in my Desert Sand Memento ink and have at it with my Copics. I really distressed my paper edges and laid a piece of cheesecloth under my paper before gluing it on the piece of wood.

I added some Prima Wood Pieces for some different textures.
I also found this quote, it was a sticker and I cut it up and added some more dimension. I just love the quote, I think it fits the image perfectly!

I cut the clock out of the same paper and then added some flowers all around. I did add some Crackle Accents and molding paste all around the edges everything! It's a little hard to see in the photo though.

If you haven't already, you should follow the Bloom Girl DT Blog.
We have a monthly challenge and you could use any stamp and make type of project, too.

I'd also like to enter this into the Prima Picks August Challenge
