Happy Mother’s Day

Mother's Day 2017

I am super lucky and blessed to have a beautiful, outstanding mother… especially because she understands that I just run out of hours in the day most of the time, and her card is going to be late!  I’ll be putting this in the mail tomorrow, and praying that it gets to her on Tuesday, so that she has it before she leaves for a trip on Wednesday.  Of course, I’ll call her today but I know how much she loves my cards, so I hope the post office is super-speedy this week!

The Altenew Painted Flowers stamps were calling my name, so I arranged them in a spray along the upper left side of this scalloped die-cut panel (Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX), then adding some color with Tickled Pink, Razzle Berry, Sour Apple, and Jellybean Green dye inks from My Favorite Things.  In the background I added a striped piece of paper from the 6x6 Dots & Stripes Confection Paper Pack, and a panel die-cut from Steel Grey card stock.  The “happy” was die-cut from silver glitter card stock using the Happy Card Frame die from Concord & 9th.  The “Mother’s day” sentiment is from a very old Impression Obsession stamp set, and I added some sequins and splatters for embellishment.  For my card layout, I took inspiration from the current CAS(E) this Sketch #221.

I hope all of my Mom friends out there had a beautiful Mother’s Day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Button Up Recipe Swap

ButtonMosaic
Linda has another great new Recipe Swap challenge over at the Catered Crop blog, and it’s definitely my favorite one so far… buttons!  Here are the challenge details…
Hopefully you like playing with buttons as much as we do, because that’s what we’re doing with this challenge – our annual button challenge. Just add a button or more to your project and come join the party. Or, alternatively, show us how you store and organize your buttons – that’s always fun, too.
  • Include a link to us at Catered Crop or add our button, which you can grab on our sidebar or at our {button gallery}.
  • Link up and link often, but be sure you link up by 8:00 PM EST on Saturday, May 10.
  • Keep the party hopping by visiting the other players and leaving comments.
  • Check back with us on May 11 to see if you’ve won an opportunity to be a guest designer.
For my card, I decided to play with a new-to-me stamp set from Wplus9 Design Studio…
Catered Crop Button Up
I’ll be spending some time with my Mom this coming weekend, and I wanted to be ready to wish her a happy Mother’s Day a week early so I made her this card using the Spring Blooms stamp set.  I took a few hints from some beautiful release week cards I saw on the Wplus9 blog to create this, stamping my flowers with my new Festive Berries distress ink pad, and the leaves with a combination of Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint.  Then I spritzed with some water here and there, dried everything and added some Antique Linen shading around the edges.  I also used my aquapainter brush to add some splotches of red ink, and sprayed the whole card with one quick mist of Heidi Swapp gold lame spray.  Then, of course I added a few buttons in the centers of the biggest flowers!  :)
So hey, get buttoned up with us and join in the challenge!

Flourishes New Release - Day 1

It's that wonderful time of the month again... New Release Week at Flourishes!  One thing you'll notice, right off the bat, is that this release will have a very feminine feel! It's that time of year when we start to think about honoring the moms in our lives and watching parts of the world turn to spring! So, without further ado, let's sneak peek our first set... Love & Lace!

What's more beautiful than an antique cameo? This set illustrated by Lauren Pope showcases that feel. Stamp the silhouette in the center of this circle antique lace frame or use one of the six beautifully scripted sentiments inside. It's a timeless and classic image that can honor your mom or any new mom in your life! This set measures 4" by 6". This set is a perfect companion to our  Antique Lace background stamp. It's another brand new stamp! See?

I created my card using this new stamp set with some Cosmo Cricket papers and stamped my Antique Lace and the lacey circle using Memento Lady Bug ink.  I used several Nestabilities on my card including a Classic Circle, Lacey Circle, and Large Long Scalloped Rectangle.  I embellished with some May Arts Crochet Cotton Lace in Ivory, a seam binding bow, and finished with a Prima Petal Pin on the bow.

Want to win this set? All you need to do is leave some love in the  form of a comment on the blogs below! Why? You need to try to figure out…..

One of the ladies on our link list below will be picking a name from  the comments on her blog post today. We don’t know which one it is… so the more blogs you leave comments on, the more chances you have to win!

Flourishes New Release Day One

It's the best time of the month once again... Flourishes New Release Week!  We're kicking off the festivities today with a beautiful new stamp set... Mother's Words of Wisdom.  This is a wonderful stamp set, perfect for Mother's Day coming up soon but as luck would have it I have use for it right now as my beautiful mother celebrates a birthday this coming Sunday!  So this card will go in the mail today and be on the way to my Mom!

The flowers on my wreath were colored with Copic markers and I cut out the wreath with the largest Nestabilities Standard Circle die.
Along with the new stamp set, there's also a new 123 Create Kit available this week, that I've used on my card.  The Glitz paper pad is full of beautiful patterns, and you will LOVE the perfectly matched ribbons, lovely stick pins, and the fun Candi dots to go with the papers!

Would you like to win this set?  All you need to do is figure out...

One of the ladies on the link list below is the Mystery Blogger, and will be picking a name from the comments left on her blog post today.  We don't know who it is, so the more blogs you leave comments on, the better are your chances to win.

There will be more chances to win starting later today with the first Noontime Challenge, and another challenge tomorrow.  And don't forget about the Pre-Release Challenge still going on, as well as the Timeless Tuesday challenge!

Thanksabunch!

Bellarific Friday for Mothers

Hello everyone! Happy Friday! I always love it when Friday rolls around because that means it is time to share another Bellarific creation with you! The challenge this week was to create a card for Mother's Day, which is quickly approaching! Stop over Bloggabella to check out all the creations from the Babes, and the Sistahood!

For my card, I decided to use the new (and aDORable!) Patsy Pixie stamp, illustrated by Christy Croll. With that BIG bouquet of flowers, she is just perfect for a Mother's Day card! My image is colored with Copics on Bella's Bestest Cream cardstock, and some of the flowers are blinged up with some Spica glitter pens, too. The paper I used here is Stella & Rose "Gertie" from My Mind's Eye.
So remember to stop over at Bloggabella to check out the fabulous Mother's Day creations, and leave a comment, too! Remember that one random participant, and one random commenter are chosen to win some Bella Bucks each week! AND if you haven't taken the time to "like" us on our Facebook page or join Forumabella, what are you waiting for? There are some great contests going on there too, so don't miss your chance to win!

And if you'd like to play along with us next week, we'd be really happy to see your creations! The theme for next week is May Flowers! Create anything using stamps from the Stamping Bella store with flowered paper, images and/or embellishments! Let's see your creations BLOOM! Email your creation to Emily by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday to be included in the lineup!

Happy stamping!
