Fall!? or Not!

I dont think this little guy has realized its fall yet. It was almost to freezing last night and I found this little guy this morning still going strong. I like to see some color in the yard when it is so gray outside.
Happy Fall!

Flower of the Week!

For my flower of the week this week are some pansys. I just love their little bright shiny faces. They are so pretty and they have such a soft subtle scent that smells really yummy.
It makes me cheery just looking at these little faces!
Happy Day!

Splashes of Pink!

Here are my flowers of the week. These are some of the pink flowers in our yard. The roses in the front and the geraniums in the back. The bottom photo is where some of our new dirt went in this year. Hubby isnt done filling the yard with new dirt but where its done all in the center island makes the flowers seem so much bright against the dark brown dirt.
I love this time of year when all the flowers start to bloom. Although this year they have all been a tad late.

Flower of the Week Tuesday!

My hubby took some pictures of the yard this weekend, during a brief period of sun. Our lilies are starting to bloom one by one. We have these in this yellow and ones in red. They are huge this year. The plants must have doubled in size since last year.
Maybe tomorrow we will get some sun!!!

Another Flower of the Week!

This is one of our California Lilacs (I think they are called.). You cant see the flowers as well as I would like but they are a really pretty plant. We planted them last year and they didnt do much. But this one got relocated and really took off. It is twice as big as the others we planted at the same time. They grow along the road and are sometimes used as hedges. When you see them from a distance the leaves look really dark because the flowers are such a dark blue. Very pretty!
Have a great day!

Flower of the Week!

This is our Wisteria. This picture was taken over a week ago. So I am sure it is even more beautiful now. The flowers are getting prettier and prettier. I just love this time of  year. Our roses are even a little late this year but I love when they first start growing and the leaves are so colorful and shiny and new.
Happy Spring!

Flower of the Week!

I have decided to make tuesday my flower of the week day. My flowers are starting to pop out one by one and on a sunny day they are beautiful. This is my Bleeding Heart. It used to be in a big pot in the corner of the patio. But as pots do, it got brittle and broke. So a year or so ago my hubby planted it in the ground. Now I have at least 5 of them. I love this flower but it only lasts until it gets hot and then it wilts away. But as you can see there is a baby fern to the left of it that will get bigger and in the center of it, there is some flower that I dont know what it is but it will be a surprise.
We have purchased a few new things and I dont know where they got planted or remember what they are so we will see. We planted some Mexican Shellflower bulbs. I have never heard of them but they are very colorful. So I cant wait to  see what they do!
Happy Planting!
