So by now you know what the theme of our blog hop is? Aye, it's A Nautical Theme. We hope you'll view all the entries and then get busy and create something Nautical to enter into the challenge. So hoist your anchor and safe sailing....

Here is my entry for this challenge...

Merry Christmas......

Yes, I know! I'm either way too early for next Christmas or embarassingly late for this past Christmas. No, no, no! Neither of those are right! I'm right on time for our new Stamptacular Sunday challenge. Our sponsor is the delightful Simon Says Stamps and they offering the lucky winner a $25 gift certificate and FREE shipping!

It's never too early to start your Christmas cards, so I hope you'll find some inspiration on the Stamptacular Sunday challenge blog and enter to win this week! Just make up a Christmas Card and add your link below the post.

This card was a major challenge for me, not because Christmas cards are harder to make than any other card, but because I've had so much going on in my life this summer, and fewer days to craft that I really felt pinched for time. I wanted to make a white on white card. I've seen so many beautiful examples, but no matter how hard I tried with this goal it simply wouldn't come together. So I threw that idea out the window and decided to add some color. My imaged is Tilda with Violin and was a free image from Diana at Magnola-licious. I think this image will be available this coming Christmas, so please be sure to check her store often!

Here is the card I made...

My card recipe is at the very end of this post for those of you who want to know all the elements I've used.

Here is a closer view of Tilda...

I also used a Magnolia sentiment...

The inside of my card...

I used Stardust stickles around each of my panels, and on the round sentiment on the front of the card. Other than the ribbon and my punched snowflakes, it's my only adornment, a little stray from the norm for me.

Well here is the card recipe I promised you...

Images: Tilda with Violin, Merry Christmas (Magnolia)
Sentiment on inside: Artistic Outpost
Punches: Martha Stewart Punch around the Page, Snowflake
Nestabilities -Circle Small, Scalloped Edge
Cardstock: SU Whisper White, Gina K Ocean Mist
Ribbon: Stash
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Soft Sky
Copics:
Skin - E000, E0000
Hair - Y21, Y23, Y26
Dress - B0000, B01 and Crystal Stickles
Wings - B0000, Y0000, RV0000 and Frosted Lace Stickles
Violin - E30, E31
Shadow under feet - W00, W1, W3
Shadow behid Tilda - B0000, Y0000, RV0000
Dimensional Pop dots
Glimmer Mist (on snowflakes) Bubble, Pearl

Well thanks for stopping by today to review my card. I certainly appreciate the visit.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - What's your favorite Ice Cream?

I have another card for you today. This week at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge we have a very fun challenge for you. In honor of National Ice Cream Day we want you to create a card or project using the colors of your favorite ice cream sundae.

Our sponsor is the wonderful "Some Odd Girl" digital shop and they are offering the winner of this weeks challenge 3 free digi images of their choice.

I have used their image of Sweet Kaylee. Isn't she just adorable? I love the eyes best of all. Here is my card and my explanation of my choice of ice cream...

While the colors I used on this card don't reflect a favorite sundae, I found this fabulous piece of beautiful glittery paper in my stash. I had just one piece, an "orphan" and it's from DCWV. I just thought it looked so "ice creamy" and decided to use it.

Here's my card recipe:

CS - Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink (SU) Gina K Pure Luxury
DP - DCWV
Copics:
Skin - E00, E000, E0000 and chalk for cheeks
Hair - E13, E17, E18, E19
Eyes - N7, YG11, YG03 Sakura White Gel pen
Skirt - RV11, RV23
Barettes_ RV23 and Spica Pink
Purse - YG11, YG03, Spica Melon
Blouse - B52, B02, B0000
Shoes - RV11, RV23, RV0000
Background - W00, W1, W3, YG0000, B0000, RV0000

Nestabilites Labels 11
Silk ribbon - stash
Ice Cream Cone Charm - Magnolia
Sentiment - SU
Pearls - from a friend
Stickles - Star Dust

Here's a closer look of Kaylee...

I had such fun doing the eyes, though at first I was very nervous about not getting them right. Then I remembered a challenge that was posted quite some time ago on Copic Creations Challenge Blog about coloring eyes, so I went back to that site, found a wonderful tutorial from I Like Markers and decided that I could do this.

The background behind Kaylee was done with Copic markers and a blender pen. I just dotted in each color and then went over it with my Blender to soften the edges. Easy peasy!

Here is a side view of the card. It show a little of the inside. I couldnt' do much with it because I had no more of the wonderful ice cream dp, but I repeated the colors of cardstock and cut out a notation are with the same nestie. I also added some Startdust Stickles to the edge of that to give it a bit of glitter.

I hope you'll come join our challenge and make a card or project representing your favorite ice cream sundae.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge...Aperture Card

Welcome back to another Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. This week our challenge is to make an Aperture Card, or, create a card that has a hole in the middle...this is usually done by stamping the main image on he INSIDE of your card and cutting a hole in the center of the card front so that you can see the image when the card is closed. WHEW! That's a mouth full!

My card is pretty involved and took several days to complete! I love a challenge!!! I want to thank Jacque Beddingfield for the original idea on this card. I CASED the entire design from her. Thank you Jacque for being such an inspiration. :-)

Before I even start, I need to let you know that I didn't keep track of the copics I used (how did that happen)?

So let's get started...here is the card I made, using Art Impressions "Little Annie" and the Window image on the front. The window was stamped onto fun foam (the narrow stuff) and then colored with Copics, and mounted onto Sage Shadow cardstock.

I began to assemble my card front by stitching some DP from Papermania "Confetti" collection to some Sage Shadow card stock. All the panels were stitched and then adhered to the front of the card. Then I adhered the fun foam (which was already cut out) and next I mounted Little Annie! The next thing I had to do was to cut through all those layers - 9 to be exact, and that took me forever...

Here is a closer view of Annie...

After I had that part done the rest was relatively easy..I stitched the panels on the inside of the card (the left side of the card was part of the 9 layers I had to cut through) and then stamped the inside of Little Annie and the Curtain and adhered them to the inside part of the card.

Here's a closer view on Annie on the inside...

Here's a view of the whole inside of my card....

Moving on to what you see through the window, I used the following images available from Diana here at Magnolia-licious.
I used #629 Allotta Rubber Stamps Stove and #383 Opps Tilda for the view through my window. Both are adhered with dimensionals on Sage Shadow card stock.

Your submission to the challenge doesn't need to be nearly as difficult, but I truly hope that you'll make an atempt at an Aperture Card and join with us for the fun...

Thank you so very much for dropping in to see my challenge card today.
