Neat & Tangled / Birthday Celebration!

Hooray1

Hello!  I am so excited to be on the Neat & Tangled blog as a guest for their 5th birthday celebration!  I was one of the original design team members and I loved the time I spent with this group!  I have followed along since and I'm so proud of where Danielle has taken Neat & Tangled.......it's so fun to look back and see where it's come!  Here's to many more years!
I love the new Hooray word dies from this release......so many ways to use them.  I paired them with the All The Sprinkles background and some Distress Oxide inks in Worn Lipstick, Broken China, and Wilted Violet.  I created two cards with these sets......one with pastels and one with masculine colors!

Hooray5

For both cards, I stamped in versamark the All The sprinkles onto a panel of black cardstock and a panel of white cardstock.  The black was heat set with gold embossing powder and the white with white embossing powder.  Then the magic happens with emboss resist.......blend the Distress Oxide inks over the panels and spritz with water!

To the pastel card, the Hooray dies were done and layered with foam adhesive for dimension.  For my masculine card, the outline Hooray die was die cut from the panel and then the word Hooray was inset back in done in gold foil.  Both options are awesome!

You are my Sunshine...

August9

HI everyone!  I am excited to share that I am guesting for Butterfly Reflections Ink blog this month!  I think until a few months ago, I lived under a rock.  I tell myself now......why did I wait so long to order from Vanessa?  Her customer service is unbelievable and her shipping times are record fast!  I love ordering and getting my goodies in just DAYS!  The other part?  She has current products!!!

Neat & Tangled released this adorable stamp called My Sunshine recently.  It spoke to my heart for many reasons but one thing is that handwritten sentiment in Danielle's handwriting.  It's fabulous.  Yep.....you can purchase it at Butterfly Reflections Ink!

I started planning out my layout and loved the little "ray" stamp in this set.  I wanted to use this to "frame" a shaker element on this card.  I used a standard small circle die to cut the circle in my cardstock.  Using this as a guide, I stamped my rays around this circle.  The way this sentiment was designed is perfect for placing the sentiment by my shaker element!  My sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black ink using my Misti.  I assembled my shaker card using various yellow sequins.  I added the last part of my sentiment (white heat embossed on black) to the lower corner and added a few extra sequins.

Be My Valentine

Happy Valentine's Day!!!
♥♥♥

Yesterday was bittersweet for me as it was 10 years ago that I got the call about my mom.  Valentine's is always a day that will be somewhat sad for me but I try to remember the wonderful memories of her that I have.

I couldn't let this day go by without sharing a Valentine I made for the occasion.
I've used the Be My Valentine stamp along with the gorgeous sequin mix called Full of Love by Neat & Tangled.  I started with a Distress Ink washed piece of watercolor paper and stamped the sentiment in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold Glitter Zing embossing powder.  I love the "chunky" look it gives compared to the traditional gold embossing.

Be My Valentine

I added in lots of outlined stamped hearts from the Be My Valentine set.  To the centers of a few of them, I washed them with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.

I hope you all have a wonderful day filled with loved ones and remember to hug them tight and fill their day with LOVE!

Little Tangles Challenge!

Hello!  I'm so excited to be guest designing over at the Little Tangles Challenge blog today!  Thank you Heather for having me for this challenge!

This challenge is all about WATERCOLOR.  This technique is so trendy right now and super easy to do!!

LittleTanglesChallenge1

I used the Sunburst stamp and the "hello" stamp from Everyday Labels.  I don't have expensive watercolors.......just plain cheapies from Michael's.  I clear embossed the Sunburst image onto watercolor paper and started watercoloring across the image with the colors I wanted.  After this was dry, I sprayed the Sunburst panel with some Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer.......I love this stuff!  It's perfect to add a little shimmer all over your project!!!

We would love to see your take on the Watercolor Challenge using some Neat & Tangled Stamps!!!  Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

Danielle's Special Delivery Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!  I'm here today with a ton of blog friends helping to celebrate a new baby!!  Danielle, from Neat & Tangled, had a baby GIRL!  We wanted to do something special for her so join along to wish her well and for some fabulous baby card ideas.  You should have arrived here from the Neat & Tangled blog to start the hop.

I had the pleasure of meeting and rooming with Danielle last fall........she is a sweet and lovely person inside and out.  It was so fun to meet her after working on her DT for over a year.  I even got to watch her design in her sketchbook....hehe.  Here's a picture I had to share of Danielle and I.......with a MDQ photo bomb!  :)

Congrats Danielle.....enjoy every second with that precious one!!

I created a little "onesie" shaped card courtesy of some dies and added a sweet "Special Delivery" message (from Santa Tags by Neat & Tangled) embossed in white on vellum.  The tiny button dies were tied up with mini crochet threaded bows.  I will never tire of Danielle's handwriting stamps.......they are just beautiful!!

Say Cheese!

Hello!!  I'm here with a bittersweet post because it's my LAST post as part of the original NAT DT.  Danielle has expanded her team and it's time for my style to go!  I have really enjoyed this team and am so grateful to Danielle for letting me design with her stamps.

Did you see the fabulous new release of stamps last week?  If not, scroll back through the posts from last week!

I created my card with the new set called Photo Booth.  I just love all the itty bitty images that are included in this set which are perfectly sized to fit in the photo strip stamp from the set.  But here, I've used the little camera stamp to stamp my own background paper.  Just goes to show how you can use all those smaller images in way that really shows them off!

Since this is my last post, I wanted to share a few of my favorite NAT cards I've made during my term.  Hope you enjoy and have a great summer!!!

Neat & Tangled May Release: So Very Blessed

Welcome to the Neat & Tangled May new release!  We have some amazing inspiration from the entire design team!  What do you all think so far??

Today we are sharing a new stamp set called So Very Blessed.  Another fabulous hand drawn sentiment from non-other than Danielle herself!  Her handwriting is AMAZING......lucky me.....I got to see her in action at a retreat last fall as she was sketching away!!!

I started by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I decided to watercolor the floral and leaf images with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  I smooshed the ink pads onto an acrylic block and with a water brush "picked up" some color and brushed it over my image.  I love how there is no right or wrong to watercoloring......and you can color outside the lines with no one saying anything!  LOL

To highlight the sentiment, I did the same watercolor technique using Tumbled Glass Distress Ink outlining the word "Blessed".

Neat & Tangled May Release: Sunday School Songs

Welcome to the Neat & Tangled May new release!  We have some amazing inspiration from the entire design team!

Today we are sharing a new stamp set called Sunday School Songs.  I totally remember these songs from my childhood Sunday School!

I completely went CAS for this card.  I wanted the true meaning of the song to ring out!!!
I stamped the song lyric in Memento Tuxedo Black and very carefully colored in the tiny outlined areas with Copics R27 and R29.  One diecut heart was sprayed with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz and adhered with foam adhesive.

Neat & Tangled May Release: Photo Booth

Welcome to the Neat & Tangled May new release!  We have some amazing inspiration from the entire design team!

Today we are sharing a new stamp set called Photo Booth.  It's a great set to make filmstrip type embellishments for your cards or layouts.

I started by inking up the filmstrip image with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I love how it stamped kind of distressed.  Then I stamped some of the included images in fun colors.  My sentiment was made by stamping the words and trimming.  These were foam mounted at angles for interest.
