Hello Studio75 fans! It's Tracey here to share a shabby mixed media card featuring the gorgeous Studio75 Hello Spring paper collection along with fabulous chipboard from the store. The Up in the Air stencil by SnipArt adds amazing texture to the background as well.

What gorgeous papers to work with! I adore the birdhouse image, so used this Anemone Birdhouse Frame from the store along with the little bird from the Scrapiniec Spring Prodigy Bird Ave Set. These gorgeous flowers from Little Birdie coordinate perfectly with the background paper. The fabulous watercolor leaves are fussy cut from the Hello Spring 07 page.

A close-up of the flowers. You can see some of the flowers I fussy cut from the Hello Sping 06 sheet to tuck in around the edges of the cluster and stamens which I bunched together to add a bit more texture. The molded gear is brushed with gold art wax to coordinate.

I painted this sweet birdhouse portion of the frame with a wood grain to coordinate with the sweet birdhouse on the paper. I left the little bird untreated. The Scrapiniec chipboard hearts are painted in coordinating colors as well with this one strategically placed over the opening to the birdhouse.

Serduszka śa pomalowane w kolorze dobranym do  brzoskwiniowych odcieni na papierach. 

The delicate flowers and leaves around the frame are painted and shaded. I adhered small rhinestones to the center of each flower using Bambino Glue. The background is stenciled with white gold icing paste using the fabulous SnipArt Damask Stencil.
Kwiaty i liście pocieniowałam i lekko podkolorowałam. Wszystko przyklejałam za pomocą kleju Bambino. Damaski z szablonu są wykonane z złotej pasty lodowej. 

I added a little cluster to the bottom corner that includes a snippet of Organza Rose Trim.

This sentiment from the Hello Spring 08 page is colored with Distress Ink and the heart is fussy cut from the 6x6" Hello Spring paper set. 

The card front is adhered to a 6x6" Blank Card from the store. I just adore these sturdy card bases that hold the weight of my mixed media creations so well.

Butterfly Mixed Media Card with Tracey / Mediowa kartka z motylem od Tracey

Hello Studio75 fans. It's Tracey back to share a dreamy butterfly card featuring gorgeous papers from  the Forever in Love and Violet Love collections along with a stencil, chipboard, and stamps from the Studio75 Store. Doesn't this fluttering butterfly showcase these fabulous papers beautifully?

Witajcie Kochani, Tracey z tej strony. Przybywam z kartką motylową którą wykonałam z papierów z kolekcji Forver in love i Violet love. Kartkę postemplowałam  i ozdobiłam szablonem oraz tekturkami.

  

 Tips and Techniques

The focal paper is from the 6x6" Violet Love paper pack. The edges are stamped with the Agateria Grille 3 stamp from the store using permanent brown ink and then rubbed with a bit of teal and light brown inks for a grungy effect.
Głowny papier pochodzi  małego bloczka Violet love. Brzegi postemplowałam Agateriowym stemplem.

The background behind the butterfly is also stamped with grungy stamps from my stash. The edging paper is from the Forever in Love 6x6 paper set and rubbed randomly with a little more brown ink to help it pop. I rubbed some of the same ink across the lace as well.
Tło pod motylem jest także postemplowane podobnie jak pierwsza warstwa papieru z bloczka Forver in love.

 The gorgeous butterfly is die cut with paper from the 6x6" Forever in Love paper pack. I rubbed teal and brown ink over the die cut pieces to color. To help the cutouts in the wings pop, I glued tan paper from the collection on the back of the wings to peek through. The Little Birdie flower is rubbed with a little brown ink to grunge it up and glued into the center of the butterfly. The wings are curled to give dimension.

 I also used a text stamp with brown ink on the paper before die cutting the butterfly. A flashlight bulb worked perfectly to create a head for the butterfly and the base is colored with metallic art wax.

This fabulous Daisy Branches Miszmasz chipboard is absolutely perfect as a grungy trail for the butterfly. A mix of truffle and seafoam embossing powders are used to color. Bambino Glue is used to adhere the chipboard.

 

I just adore the SnipArt Up In the Air Damask Stencil from the store and used it here with crackle paste. I cut a piece of white crafting chicken wire to layer behind the butterfly and lace.

Tips and Techniques

Wykorzystałam gel medium żeby przykleić papier Hello Spring na uroczą bazę serce z Woodouts! Często gdy przyklejam papier do twardych powierzchni pojawiają się miejsca, gdzie papier nie jest dobrze przyklejony i tworzą się takie nieładne bąble. Pomyślałam, że dobrym pomysłem będzie posmarować pędzlem obie strony papieru przezroczystym gesso. Pomogło to przykleić papier dużo lepiej. Wycięłam kawałek papieru większy niż serce i posmarowałam z dwóch stron przezroczystym gesso. gdty wszystko wyschło zabrałam się za przyklejanie papieru do bazy. Tylnią część papieru oraz front bazy wysmarowałam gel medium i połączyłam.  Żeby mieć pewność że wszystko ładnie się połączyło położyłam jeszcze czysty kawałek papieru do drukarki na serduszku i ładnie wszystko wygładziłam.  Poczekałam cały dzień, aż wszystko ładnie wyschło, a następnie docięłam papier wystający poza brzegi serca specjalnym nożykiem do papieru. Następnie zeszlifowałam krawędzie żeby wszystko wygładzić.

I used soft gel medium to adhere Hello Spring 01 paper to this sweet Woodouts Heart. I often have areas that bubble or don't adhere well when applying paper to hard surfaces. I thought of the idea to brush the front and back of the paper with clear gesso first. It really helped the paper to go on much more smoothly. I cut a piece of paper a little larger than the heart, brushed both sides with clear gesso and allowed to dry completely. Once dry I brushed both the back side of the paper and the front of the Woodouts Heart with soft gel medium and placed the two coated sides together. To make sure the paper was securely attached, I placed a piece of computer paper over the paper covered heart (to prevent transferring any bits of leftover paint from the brayer onto my beautiful paper), then rolled firmly over the entire surface with a brayer. I let it sit overnight for the gel medium to dry completely, then trimmed closely with a craft knife. Finally I sanded the edges to get a nice smooth finish.

I applied pearl icing paste using the SnipArt Up In the Air Damask Stencil. Isn't this such a gorgeous design? I also spattered white drawing ink over the paper.

Żeby zbudować kompozycję, nakleiłam warstwowo, serwetkę, tekturki i trójwymiarowe kwiaty. Napis potuszowałam żeby pasował wyglądem do pozostałych elementów.

To build the cluster I layered vintage lace, then chipboard and dimensional flowers. I cut gorgeous flowers and leaves from Hello Spring 06 and Hello Spring 07 and layered them into the edges of the cluster.

The sentiment is rubbed with ink to coordinate with the gorgeous lavender in the fussy cut flowers.

Na pięknej , delikatnej  ramce zrobiłam embossing na gorąco, następnie żeby kolor stał się troszkę bardziej subtelny użyłam wosków w kilku kolorach.



The delicate Anemone Dahlia Frame is heat embossed with aged scarlet embossing enamel, then to soften the color, I rubbed with art wax in several colors including rose gold, vintage gold, white gold, and rose.

This metal key is rubbed with rose gold and vintage gold to give it a lighter and more feminine feel. I also added a sparkling gem to the center and several more around the heart.

Bambino Glue is used to apply lavender and pearl prills for added texture. It dries clear and is perfect for adding delicate texture materials.

A close-up of the sweet little butterfly and you can see the damask texture here nicely as well.
