Milton With Daisy

Yes, I know it's Monday, yes, I know I don't normally post on a Monday these days, in fact, I don't know what has come over me.  Well, actually I do.  I was checking emails this morning and I get notifications from Addicted To CAS and I spotted that their challenge theme this time is Animals.  It has been such a long time since I entered any kind of challenge, and I had intended getting inky anyway, so what the heck.........

Here is my CAS make with an Animal on it (grin).

I've used an older Wild Rose Studio stamp - Milton With Daisy
Sentiment is from Clearly Besotted Many Messages
and a tiny strip of Lawn Fawn Dandy Day paper edged with Martha Stewart grass border punch

Milton was painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and his daisy with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens

I shall enter Milton into two challenges

That's all folks

As You Like It (DT) Favourite Way of Adding Snow

Morning everyone!  By now we, that's the AS YOU LIKE IT team, are hoping you are starting to get festive with your makes as our challenge for this fortnight is Your Favourite Way To Add Snow (and why).

I make a lot of cards with a vista of white, so favour adding my snowflakes by stamping with a pale blue ink, but for cards like this with a dark sky I do love to use snowflake dies, there seems to be an infinite variety of shapes and sizes so I am constantly collecting new ones!

So, for this one I have used
Background paper from The Works

Imagines painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and, if you squint, you
might just see a sprinkling of Glamour Dust (Crystal) under their feet
(all of the linked items above are from Dies To Die For)

Our sponsor for this challenge is the fantastic

Looking forward to seeing all your snowy makes!

Toasty Greetings (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, I  hope you are well.  I'm a bit late today but am now popping in with a warm glow make for you.

I missed out on this set the first time around, so I have a real warm glow feeling from being able to get my little paws on it from the MFT Vault this time!  I struggle to resist Birdie Brown designs, as you might have guessed.

Images painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers).  Feeling quite chuffed with their reflected light tummies, I just hope that Snow doesn't melt too fast, but if he does, Pingu can grab his toasting stick!

I hope you are all keeping your marshmallows warm.

Sunflower Sweetheart (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello peeps, and happy Saturday to you.  It's a scheduled post today (as I'm about to dash off for a hair cut shortly).  I'm popping by with this sweetie to show that you don't have to use winter papers just for winter projects.

For this cutie I have used

Images painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers).  I'm really happy that the Lucky Clover and Fossilised Amber colours perfectly tone with these pretty papers.

Franken-Chemist (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello peeps, I'm popping by this morning very quietly, I thought had better introduce myself gently in case a belated Halloween BOO scared you too much!

MFT Die-Namics Dripping Goo Edge die (retired) but there is one from
A mixture of MFT 6x6 paper pads

All the picture elements of this were painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Which reminds me, if you heard screaming Wednesday night, it wasn't me practising, it was me being attacked by a big hairy spider, twice!  Aaargh!

Favourite Design Paper (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Just where did the last two weeks go?  Whoosh, they're gone, and we are heading rapidly towards November, eeeeek!

OK, so the theme from As You Like It Challenge this time is
Your Favourite Design Papers (and why)

I am in love with the Knit Picky range of papers from Lawn Fawn.  I could blame the crochet bug but I was using these papers before that started, and I got through a whole pad of the Christmas one last year.  I have moved heaven and earth to get hold of another one of those, and I am on my third of the Fall Knit Picky pads.  I really love the "knitted" pattern!

So as well as my favourite Knit Picky papers I have used

and so to our sponsor who for this challenge is

On your marks......... see you there!

Sweet Birthday Wishes (DT) Dies To Die For

I did warn you a few weeks ago that I was in love with this stamp set from Birdie Brown and you would be seeing quite a bit of it, so you will be seeing it again today!

You might (or might not) be pleased to know that I have got my mitts on another Birdie Brown re-released set so at least you will get a little variety.

With apologies, I used Lawn Fawn 6x6 Perfectly Plaid Spring papers on this but they have since been retired from the website, sorry!

I used Memento inks for the spatter background, but of course little lassie and her cakes are watercolour painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers).

Have a super weekend everyone.

Sweet Birthday Wishes (DT) Dies To Die For

Hello chaps!  I may have overslept a "tiny" bit this morning, it has been a full-on work week and I was verrrrrry tired.  Could possibly have managed another couple of hours, but, you know, things to do, places to be and all that.

Anyhoo, you all know my fondness for Birdie Brown designs so I was
overjoyed when I managed to get my paws on this set - it's a reissue of an older set, with updated sentiments, and I was so excited when I found out about it.  I think it will be getting a LOT of use.

Lawn Fawn 6x6 Perfectly Plaid - Spring (can't find on website now)

Little girl is painted in Distress Inks (ReInkers) as watercolours and I blended the
background in Distress Inks from the pads using the Picket Fence brushes.

Have a lovely weekend all

Bird or Beast (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Hello chaps, I hope your week is going well.  As it is a Thursday, it means a new theme over at

This time we would like you to choose your favourite (and tell us why)
BIRD or BEAST

Don't get me wrong, I like birds - out in the garden.  The song of a blackbird absolutely fills my heart with joy, and I love the antics of sparrows and starlings, and of course a cheeky robin.  With no offence to pigeons, they are a blinkin' nuisance though!  However, as much delight as our feathered friends bring, I'm afraid that the furry critters will always win in my affections.

How cute is that smile?!!

although I used the rubber version (retired now, boo hiss)
Lawn Fawn 6x6 Knit Picky - Fall
Crealies XXL No 70 Open Scallop Square
Poppystamps Bubble Daisy Border
MFT Stencil - Mini Cloud Edges
Painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

For this furry and feathery challenge, our sponsor is
CRAFTS U LOVE

Favourite Stamp Brand (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Another fortnight has whizzed past, and here we are with a new challenge from the

This time, for your delight and delectation our theme is
Your Favourite Stamp Brand

When I first started stamping, I fell in love with Margaret Sherry's cute animal designs that Penny Black Inc turned into stamps, and I built up a rather large collection, so based purely on numbers, I have to say Penny Black are my favourite, especially as I still have them all!

This is only of my first PBs - Bubble of Joy
Dotty edged die is by Crealies
Papers are MFT Hearts & Stripes and Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Scallops
The sentiment die was a magazine freebie
Image painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

I do hope you will be able to pop over to the challenge and join in the fun!

Bundles of Love (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, how is your weekend panning out?  Too early to tell?
Well, I really hope that it is everything you want it to be.

I'm not sure why, but the Pure Innocence girls from MFT don't seem to do as well in the UK as they
do in the US, which is a real shame, because they are such cuties, and so versatile.  I really like them so I shall continue to share them with you until you surrender!

Of course she has been painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) and I have used
a tiny layer of kraft card to separate the yellows from each other

Hugs to all

Non-Card Project (DT) As You Like It Challenge

Guess what!  It's Thursday!

Of course you know what alternate Thursdays mean, and that is a new challenge from

This time, we are pushing the boundaries and asking for a non-card project.  Have a look at the DT makes for inspiration if you are stuck.

Unfortunately the first ever granny square crochet blanket isn't finished yet (so near yet so far) so here is something else!  I love making gift wrappings, either boxes or bags, that can contain a few luxury chocs.  Here is a little bag I made.
("Uff Da" is an expression of surprise)

So, I have used
Fussy cut and painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)
Martha Stewart grass border punch

and the chocolates are ALL mine!!

There's a wee anniversary blog hop happening so you'll need to visit each of the team, leave a comment, and then a final comment on the AYLI challenge - there's a surprise gift for the right person!

Right then, as well as the hop, the sponsor for this challenge with the prize of
an A5 stamp set is
Lili of the Valley

Hope to see you there

Monkeys (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, hope you are all ok!

Firstly, I am really soooooo very sorry about the quality of the photos - I thought I had taken pics in daylight but suddenly realised I hadn't so had to try and get something in artificial light, and the results aren't all that great!

and the inside

Honestly, these are so much nicer in real life!

So I have used

Times they are a changing; I made this card for my boss who left work yesterday to move on to a new job and a new challenge.  I have worked with this particular lady for 14 years and some of you will remember that we left "the old firm" together to join where I am now.

Whilst the front of the card says I Will Miss You, my handwritten text inside says
"I will miss you, for three weeks anyway"
Yup, I'm on the move again, and joining her at the new firm after Easter.  Eeeeek!

Images all painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers)

For The Birthday Girl (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, a very weary Squirrel today, but on the up side, I have a four day weekend!

Did the FaceBookers of you see that my mousy make for DTDF last week was "Whimsy Stamps Sunday Spotlight"?  (cheesy grin)

Anyhoo, today's make isn't mousy or cheesy, but it's still pretty darned cute.

So, ingredients

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Warm & Feathered (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all, Virtual Me this morning, the real me is sitting with gritted teeth at the hairdressers having a tail trim and colour.  Still, it will be the longest time I have managed to sit down for this week!

We are rapidly approaching the festivities and this card was made to send
to a very special friend

and the lovely things used were

I used a small punch for the little snowflakes but I could have used my

The background isn't clever inking, it is actually Neon Ombre Paper from Hobbycraft.
I used one of the Snow Drift dies as a guide to draw a faint pencil line where I wanted my horizon, then stamped the trees from the W&F set, then I cut and layered the snowdrifts up to, and slightly higher than, the pencil line.

Ozwald was painted with Distress Inks (ReInkers) on Langton Hot Press Smooth watercolour paper.  Someone left me such a kind comment on the Lawn Fawn FB page the other day about how amazed they were by my colouring - they were convinced I had used Copics - and took some convincing that it was inks and a brush!

OK, that's me for today, once the tail is done, it is a case of braving the crowds to get some essential shopping for the Oldies, then popping over to see them, and then back home to
(a) get some cards written, and
(b) get some presents wrapped

The tree will have to wait until next weekend!

Hugs to all

Winter Skies (DT) Dies To Die For

Morning all!

How are your Christmas preparations coming along?  I thought I was doing well, but have suddenly realised what I still have to do and anxiety is setting in - this weekend the first task is getting the cards written ready for posting (except the ones I have already missed the mailing dates for, arrgh)

I have a sweet and simple make for you today

Image painted with Distress Inks as watercolours and fussy cut

Hugs to all
