We're hungry at Meljen's!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 4 stamps of approval
I'd like to bring special attention to a very important Meljen's Designs release!
Melissa - the heart and soul behind Meljen's Designs - lost her Dad, Keith Smith, one year ago today.  Melissa we are all so very sorry for your loss!  In honor of her Dad, who was an avid fisherman, she has created a special set of images to share with you.
Meljens Designs November 16th Special Release Display
These are just so cute and fun!  Each of these new, special images can be purchased in the Meljen's shop at Whimsy Stamps.

Please take a moment today to hug your loved ones, remember those that have passed and treasure those that are with us.  Life is short and time passes so quickly!

The Meljen's Design team has created some amazing cards to share with you using this special release - some have been posted on the challenge blog today, most are on the DT members blogs and more will be posted on Thursday with the new challenge.  I hope you get a chance to visit the team and leave them some love.

Melissa is offering up a Freebie of the FISHER MOOSE as a prize in 2 contests - there will be a Facebook announcement later today and there is an announcement on the challenge blog now.  If you leave a comment on Facebook and/or the challenge blog sharing a memory of a loved one, you will be entered in a random drawing.  If you comment on both Facebook and the blog, you have 2 chances to win!
Good Luck!!

Hawaiian Wedding

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, May 05, 2010 6 stamps of approval
Hubby has a coworker who just "ran" off to Hawaii to get married and will be having a reception for those of us who weren't special enough to join them... ... at the end of the month.  I can't complain, we did the same thing to all of our friends!  Although, we didn't run off to Hawaii, we just had a very small wedding in Seattle with only family in attendance and a reception a few months later for all of our friends.

Anyway... I had quite a few wedding cards already made up, but he didn't like ANY of them!  He wanted something specifically Hawaii-ish for them.  I also had quite a few wedding images to choose from, and he liked this one best.  Kudos to Karen Doodle's - you've pleased a darn picky guy!

This image was a joy to color, although I struggled with the dress... how exactly DO you color a white dress on white paper without white markers?  It needed something, so I added a little pink and green, even though that's not a "traditional" wedding gown.  So, add some Hawaii stickers and fun, funky, tropical paper and viola!  You have a cute, fun Hawaiian Wedding card!

I hope you like it, and I hope the Bride & Groom like it as well!

Can't pass up a challenge, now can I?
Little Red Wagon: Pink & Green
Pollycraft: Here Comes the Sun (it's sunny in Hawaii, right??)
Oh, Alice: Little People (those are kids dancing in the image, aren't they cute?)
What'd I Use?

Markers: Copics & Sakura Glitter Pen
Stickers: Jolee's
Paper: K & Company
Pearls: Martha Stewart

Did you know that April 25th is "World Penguin Day?" Well...what are we waiting for? Let's celebrate!  Create a card or project that reminds us of a penguin. You can do this by using an image of a penguin or simply by creating a card or project that is made with the colors black and white.
Be creative!

We have 2 sponsors for you this week:

I'm entering this cute card into the following challenges this week:

I had some fun browsing The Daily Dare today, can you tell?  :)

Ok, on to my card!

Some of our Design Team used the color inspiration and some used penguins - either way is fine, whichever you prefer!  I chose to use penguins, although I struggled to find a cute penguin image that wasn't too Christmassy... Thankfully, my Mom found me some stamps while she was out shopping and they worked perfectly!
Here's my Penguin creation for you:
What'd i use?
Stamps: Studio G Clear Stamps
Markers: Copics
Papers: from my scrap pile
Nesties: Circle and Scallop Circle

Ribbon: from my stash
Lots and lots of pop-dots!
