Jennifer Walters is (reluctantly) having lunch at the Times Square diner Burgercakes!!
Jennifer, you are nuts. I would eat the living hell out of that!!
Mmmm...burgercakes!!

The Trial Of The Incredible Hulk!
Mr. Hulk...earlier you had testified that:
Yet now we have you on record as saying:
Well? Which is it, sir? The jury is waiting to hear--answer the question!! Beans or hot dogs?!?
From Incredible Hulk #182 (1974) & Marvel Fanfare #7 (1983)

Manic Monday--Why Elmo Isn't An Iron Chef?
Maybe it's only because I'm just over being sick...
...but I'd certainly eat that!!
Who wouldn't want a chicken wing/banana/candy cane/turkey leg/egg/jelly bean(?)/cranberry(?)/fish/cookie/orange dish for a meal? Mmmmm...
Hey, mister, if you're too busy looking befuddled to finish that...?
Sesame Street: Blast From The Past is due to be released this Wednesday.

Comics Make me Hungry--Dwarven Repasts
Chapter 28 in the "Comics Make Me Hungry" saga:
Man, if there's one thing Kalamazoo lacks, it's a good dwarf food joint (even if those dark elves don't seem to appreciate it).
From Thor:God Of Thunder #14, which is a title you should be reading. Yes, I know everyone wasn't enthralled with the Godkiller/Godbomb arc, and even I will admit that it did go on a bit long. But hte past 3 issues, Jason Aaron and company have been knocking it out of the park, with some of the best Thor stories on years. Hell, #12 was the best single Thor story I've read since Walt Simonson.
I mean, this arc involves the Nine Worlds putting together a Fellowship-Of-The-Rings-type group to find and kill Malekith the dark elf, and it rocks hard. So go read it.

Taco Battle!!
Perhaps the greatest comics battle of all time, as the sidekicks (and Katana, who apparently is officially a Batman sidekick now?) are tracking down Bane.
Ahh, but the masked one has a challenge for them:
Oh. Yeah.
But you see, those are illegal, smuggled habaneros, so it's time to act:
Oh, yeah.
As you may recall, I previously suggested that another DC property would benefit from shifting it's focus to tacos. Let's hope this is the beginning of a new trend...
From Batman Li'l Gotham #5.

Manic Monday--It's Not Just For Breakfast Anymore!!
Yes, it sucks that we don't have Tiny Titans anymore.
Yes, it quadruple sucks that we don't have Superman Family Adventures anymore.
But the universe is good, because you can still get a dose of Baltazar & Franco all-ages uniqueness.
How? Because Aw, Yeah Comics! #1 is out. Observe, as Evil Cat has made a giant pancake, in order to stomp Skokie:
Really.
Aw Yeah Comics! is published by Mark Waid's Thrillbent, and is available on Comixology. Get it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm hungry for some reason...

Everybody Comes To Archie's
Feeling a bit peckish? Well, here's a suggestion:
Not close enough? Hows about this one?
Those blurbs come from Life With Archie #149 (1974). And yes indeedy, there was a "short-lived chain" of Archie's Restaurants back in the early to mid 1970s.
There's not a lot of information that I can find on the interwebs about the Archie's Restaurants. And the search is further complicated by the fact that there are approximately 50 trillion guys named Archie who have started restaurants/pubs/diners and what have you.
However, all is not vain, because apparently, if you are willing to take a little trip to Germany, you just might find this:
Archie's American Restaurant?? And Archie himself, albeit with a dye job??
I can just see it now...ex-expatriate Archie, unable to return home for undisclosed reasons, opens a popular club. The mysterious American is pursued by all the ladies, but has to deal with the corrupt and womanizing police chief Reggie. Fortunately, he has his musical/comedy relief pal Jughead along...but how many times has he told Jughead never to play that particular song...?
Damn you, comic books, you just made me do research, and you made me rethink a cultural classic in terms of cartoon characters!! DAMN YOU, COMIC BOOKS!!!
Ah, well, looks like this year will be just like last year...

Cookin' Wityh Popeye
Why Popeye should have his own show on the Food Network:
Mmm, sounds good. What's the recipe?
Hey, I thought it was called Tomato Yum-Yum?!?
Well played, sir. Well played.
From this week's Popeye #5

Comics Make Me Hungry...
This is pretty much how I feel today:
Damn, why are there no White Castles in this town??
For the record, the restaurant on the cover is MacTavish's. Before Superman's eating spree, their sign says "Over Nine Billion Served." Afterward: "Over Ten Billion Served." Geez, whatta pig!
From Action Comics #454 (1975).

Comics Still Make Me Hungry
I guess it wasn't just last week's books...
...because my tummy's rumbling again...
I know it's fairly absurd...
...but what can I say??
Comics make me hungry!!
In order, House of Mystery #10, Captain America #395 (1991), Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade #3, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer #22. Yeah, I know the Cap technically wasn't one of this week's comics, but I found it in the quarter bin this week, and who the hell can resist Cap and Eric Masterson being covered with dough?!?
And seriously, you don't want to know what was in the bundt pan.
