Memories in Tyme Back to School Blog Hop

Welcome to the Back To School Blog Hop!!

Back To School Hop

We're so happy you could join us for this super-fun hop showcasing cards, layouts and projects for Back To School!!  You'll find an array of ideas throughout the hop -- From teacher gifts to lunchbox notes, we hope you'll enjoy each and every project along the way!!

Class is just about to start, so let's get hopping!!  If you've hopped over from Susan, then you are in the right place!!  If you've just popped in to visit my blog and you'd like to join our School-Time FUN, then please CLICK HERE to start at the beginning with Lynda's blog!!  Several stops along the way will be offering some nifty prizes, so please be sure to keep an eye out for that!!

For the hop today, I've created picture frames for my Grandkids to put their first day of school pictures in. I had purchased wooden frames from Michaels and had painted them black with then adding white faux stitching around the edges. The adorable bears were cut from Creative Kuts using the bears from School Collection 2. The lettering was cut using Make the Cut with the Trebuchet font and using white scrap paper to make it look like chalk with putting the letters randomly. The apple in the far left corner was using the Makin the Grade cartridge cut in 2.25 inches. I always then, use my Prism Colored Pencils and just shade all of my bears. After all the pieces were glued in place, I sealed not only the frame but the paper using Modge Podge to finish my project.

For my blog candy, I am offering a cut of either the girl or the boy school bears and you get to chose which one!!!

Thank you so much for hopping through the Back To School Blog Hop today!!  I hope you will enjoy the rest of your hopping experience!!  Your next stop in the hop is Rhonda.

We have several sponsors with great prizes, sew please comment on all blogs to better your chances to WIN!

I have 2 great projects (any projects involving bears and for your grandbabies, you just can't go wrong!) for you for this weekend and thought I would give you a 2 for 1 special with just one stop blogging --- With our blended family, we have 8 grandchildren ages 13, 11, 6, 5, 4, 3, 1 and 5 months with having 3 of them starting school this fall, Zack going to first grade, Sasha going to Kindergarten, and Nick going to Pre-School and thought I would make a project for each of them. You know Grammies can't show favoritisim!!!!

To start you off with my appeteaser, I purchased unfinished wooden frames at Michael's for $1 each and painted them black to resemble a blackboard and then added little white stitch lines with a paint pen. I then cut their names using white scratch paper with each of their names using Make the Cut. My project this week for Creative Kuts Design Team is using one of her newest svg files School Collection 2 with adorable bears and I just love the bookworms!!! I shade my cuts with my colored pencils needless to say I wear my Prisma pencils out using them side ways for shading and texture!! The little apples that are in the one cornor are cut from Makin the Grade at 2.25 inches. After, all the pieces were attached on the frames, I used Modge Podge to seal the paper piecings. I just love the bears and of course, the boys are just too kewl to have a lunch box but have a brown bag lunch and carry their books with their belts!

My second project is a layout for Sasha's First Day to place her pictures. I must confess that I normally make cards and I'm working out of my element. My background paper was purchased at Pat Catan's, a local craft store, that was "Back to School" themed. I added the paper piecings of the girl bear but just couldn't resist making her little red pleated skirt "plaid" as I remember the First Day of School always had a plaid dress!!! The little apple school house, Sasha Bear with her little yellow lunch box, the book worm with his adorable pencil and the apple for the teacher and the book worm crawling out of the little red book with his red specticles are purrrrfect for the start of school!!! The mats to place her pictues were cut from a scrap pack find at JoAnn Fabrics with little red ribbons attached to hold photo in place.

I hope you enjoy my projects and I do have some wonderful "blog candy" for you -- a $10 Gift Card for Creative Kuts if you follow my blog along along with leaving a comment PLUS stopping by Creative Kuts blog and making a comment about the School Collection 2 and that you saw it on the Back to School Blog Hop!!!

Your next stop along the way is Tanya with her fantastic back to school project!

Thanks again for stopping on by - have a great weekend and enjoy our hop!
