KAAGOOTAABAA - The Sensitivity Sessions

We've seen ,and heard ,John from Kaagootaabaa ,grow over the succesion of tapes he's been recording since last year. On this all-new ,2 disc set (with a whopping 85 cuts!) ,I was reminded several times of the Royal Trux double-LP masterwork ,"Twin Infinitives" ,and I must say , that this Kaagootaabaa release is the best yet. Recorded over Nov-Dec 2011 ,it sounds as if doing that split with Skindust a while back ,rubbed off on John a little.Pitting pensive ,moody acoustic guitar pieces ,against brutal and sometimes harsh noise pieces, and mixing in some power electronics sounding shit, along with inane vocalizing , is a winning combination on this recording. Split into 2 discs ,the first is, "Songs Of Love And Dance" , is back and forth every other song switching from mellow guitar instumentals ,to ear-blasting slabs of mindless noise. With an obligatory GG Allin cover song. Disc 2 ,"Songs Of Fun" ,include more of the hilarious song titlings ,as the first disc did, and features Dr. Bad Touch on keys ,on one number. Yes, John's come a long way in a short amount of time. Look for Kaagootaabaa on upcoming splits with like-minded artists. A whole lot of Kaagoo ,to take in all at once ,maybe too much fore some, but well worth it! This is the masterpiece John will have to live up to ,and follow-up with something even wilder!(if that's at all possible , I don't see how!)

ALLUCANEAT - Chump b/w I Am Late

Crazy nuts from New Mexico. The 4th release from NM's own Resin Records,in a pressing of 500,1992.On clear vinyl! How do I begin to describe this? Weirdsville, man, this is trippin',kinda like if Royal Trux got together with Nirvana,on side 1 at least! Side 2 is like Bob'the Bear'Hite from Canned Heat on harmonica, with a pick-up band from the Greyhound station playin' some barrelhouse,re-fried,rocka-boogie! Their label compares them to a more demented Beefheart.I say perhaps, but how can you top the Capn'?

THE 6TH STREET MUNTUS.....eat payola buttons!

i had to put this up to show another example of the muntus.funny thing,i was listening to side one of this the other day at work, pretty loudly, and there happened to be a crew of surveyors there.the grungiest and roughest looking of them(the woman),asked what kind of music it was.i said,"electronic".she said hmmph! i guess she never heard music before(like this anyway).me.joel,and vance take side 1,(tracks one thru six)which i have figured out to be" einsterzende neubauten meets throbbing gristle".very electronic, industrial, mechanical, machinery music.i use a few uncuts, especially to great effect with an 80's synth vibe mashed up with tony bennett,on"the bennett bop".very crazy and cool.side 2(tracks 7 thru 12) is me,joel, jason(i think a one-eyed boy i worked with)from track 8 onwards(he does vox,the only one's here, on track 11)and mike smith joins us on the final two tracks.this side is like "martin denny vs. the royal trux",i shit you not.recorded partially in an aviary(birds gone wild!)with more electronic underpinnings.there is guitar on some of this too,but mostly power electronics.if you don't listen to this, you are a fool.this could change the way you hear music, and your poor taste in music!please listen or something!bye!

ROTTEN DUMMIES

This is me and Vance in what was supposed to be an INDUSTRIAL BELT B-38 session, but turned into this!Great mid-tempo spooky stuff. Most lyrical content concerns monsters and things out of our control.March of 93 is the time, and we take you on a journey thru time and space.recorded direct to a boombox,no edits or overdubs. The thank you list goes out to:Scary Monsters Magazine,Royal Trux,Manchester,Jah,Boss effects,Joel,Billy,Peavey amps,Yamaha keys, and the Plain Truth. The last 2 tracks are me solo, after the session.Lots of fun to listen to,more fun to be an active participant!Don't let the Rotten Dummies get you!The song"Rotten Dummies"is one of the scariest tracks on here, very foreboding, and atmospheric, hope youse like it!
