SLUGGISHA TAPES 30TH ANNIVERSARY!! SLUGGISHA.BLOGSPOT.COM 12TH BIRTHDAY!!

 

Yup! so 30 years have passed ,Sluggisha Tapes is still in operation!Sluggisha blogspot has been battered and deleted numerous times,but will eventually be restored with links to everything on the blog,and new stuff coming all the time.Google "sluggisha" and you will find we are everywhere on the web.Been on the internet as a blog for 12 years now!SLUGGISHA:THE BOOK  is still in the writing stages and will be published within a year.I was going for releasing it this year,but many obstacles arose.I will make a concerted effort to restore both the Sluggisha AND  the Mediachrist blogs,in addition to getting a bunch of new releases out ,some which have been in holding pattern for years!.Thanks to all who have supported the label and the bands over the years.And the WGOD   podcast listeners I would have loved to do a    WGOD podcast today for the 30th,but,alas ,i am ill prepared and/or have a lack of proper equipment to do so.Please go to my storefronts online and contribute to Sluggisha! NACHO KNEES

The debut of a new band ,featuring Jake ,most famous for his band ,Seasonal Men's Wear ,but active in several other outfits ,and Mix Master Toilet Wig , back in action after being freeze-dried for over 24 years! Jake handles the vocal duties on all but 2 tracks, Food Fortunata lends his instantly recognizable voice to ,"New Year's Eve" , while G O D sings on the devolved destruction of a Bowie song ,re-tooled here as ,"Shitty Starbucks". Mix Master Toilet Wig ,plundered all the music from various porno soundtracks ,for this celebration of the seasons ,and holidays ,and human interactions.Kinda techno/disco/dance mixed with tardcore! A great start to a band ,whose next album ,"Porno Elevator" ,will be posted here ,sometime this year! Keep your eyes open ,and don't trip over the couch with a tray full of nachos! Art by G O D. ONE FELL SWOOP - The Lust Detector

This was a busy week for OFS. The title of this release was drawn from a 1986 porno ,listed in the worst films of all time , The Lust Detector. The girl on the cover art ,seen above ,is Bunny Bleu ,one of the stars of this monstrosity. Mimi , an old girlfriend of mine ,was present for this recording ,and sings on the last track ,"Some French Thing". And Mimi looks almost exactly like the girl pictured above ,lucky me ,huh?. There is a cover of the "Log" theme ,from Ren & Stimpy ,as we were big fans at the time. All the recordings up til this one ,were done in Joel's room ,at Cat Machine House , while this ,and the next few ,were done in Ed's living room,in Lehigh Acres,tanked up on beer and smoke, Recorded October 6th ,1991 ,20 years ago today!
