NOISEKILLR - Re-Mixfits - NOISEKILLR 40,MVMT 138

 Today ,in honor of movement 138 ,i figured some Misfits was a fitting tribute, the songs of the Misfits ,as played by my one man project ,"The EdFits" ,in a remix style. Track 1 has 16 Misfits covers,by me ,mixed together into one track,with distortion and delay added. Track 2 has 16 more Misfits covers by me,no effects,I just strtched them out,and the results are downright spooky! ,My wife was listening to me mixing it down,and swore she heard ghosts booo-ing and moaning,and seriously,I heard it too,on playback. Finally I end it all up on a remix of The EdFits version of "We Are 138" ,where in the beginning two stanzas,the phrase,"138",repeats one hundred and thirty eight times,in a lock groove ,TWICE ,and if you get thru that,you can hear the rest of the song without anymore lock grooves,in it's original form. I grew up listening to the Misfits,and the Danzig -era stuff is in my blood like all the early punk stuff,Black Flag,Circle Jerks,Germs,45 Grave,Ramones,and more,part of my psyche,and running thru my veins. IYKYK....... To my old pals,and fellow Misfits fans :Vance,Chuck,Doug "Skullz",and most of all Jeff "Fred" McDonald (RIP) ,who I miss every day since he died...........

ADVENTURES WITH JULIE - The Haunted House

A spooky trip ,thru a haunted house,with Julie Alexander.Yeah ,side 2 is, The Tiger Hunt , which I left off for the sake of Halloween (if anyone really needs to hear it,I could be persuaded). Hy and Lynn Glaser,as well as Jamie Glaser ,famous for producing children's records,composed and play all the music and wrote the stories.And look at that shitty mushroom Julie's leaning on! Looks like a bird or owl has made a hole in the stem ,to live in.The date says ,1976 ,but it sounds and looks as if from earlier in the 70's. Don't be scared,just keep telling yourself ,"It's only a record , it's only a record"!

MISFITS - Eyes To Despise

A rare double-album boot! Compiled from several other boots,this has demos,live shows ,and "Return Of The Fly" ,which was unreleased at the time(1990).The track list is mostly right ,it lists 49 tracks ,when there are actually 53 cuts! I fixed it on the mp3's ,like you don't already know these songs! Doyle signed it on the bottom of the eyeball to the left (see close-up), and it's on Johnson Records of NY. Not a bad comp. I've heard much worse. There are a couple of skips and some surface noise ,but,alas, it was pressed on inferior vinyl.This is only my second or third time playing it in 20 years. I left in every second of Doyle tuning up between nearly every song ,cuz' that's the way their shows were ,and I'm going for the full effect! Halloween is nigh ,and I will be posting more related stuff ,another Misfits covers comp. and a Halloween collection akin to last year's ,"Music To Eat Brains To" ,compilation!

SEASONAL MEN'S WEAR - Septovember

My pal ,Jake (via Food Fortunata),and his band ,who have appeared on a few Wheelchair Full Of Old Men compilations,and release their own recordings,apparently based on the seasons of the year.This is obviously about the Autumn season.Maybe in the fall,Jake will send in the Spring cd ,for posting!Pretty well-played acoustic guitar numbers(And one experimental piece,about Halloween,which sounds un-like anything else on this e.p.),with hilarious lyrics.Jake was also on the Food interview on WCSB,a few months back.This kinda reminds me of some prime Boy In Love,before they went electric.Look for them at myspace,and a video on youtube!Can't wait to hear what Jake sends in next! Halloween themed cover,and there are songs titled,"Zombie Slut",and, "Land Of The Lost",and it was recorded 8/10/96,probably for release in October of 96,and since Santa is on the back cover,(aping Sluggisha Cat's eyes),probably thru the holiday season of 1996.Sexboy opened for these guys at one of the last shows ever at Samskull's Offbeat Records.A fine example of punk/ska,by guys you probably don't know.Really cool guys. This ,from TPOS in CT,has 4 bands,with 3 cover tunes,and one original.BB Gun starts us off with a cover of Siouxsie & the Banshees,"Halloween",on bass and vocals,the proprieter of TPOS,Malcolm Tent.Leadfoot kicks in with the Misfits,"Halloween",Loafmeister does Ministry's,"Everyday Is Halloween",and Flowers From A Plastic Lid do,"My Boyfriend's Back",not a cover,as you might think by the title.I think it's about her boyfriend being Dracula,or some such noise.1993,released too late for Halloween,due to UPS losing the master tapes for 2 weeks.TPOS was mainly a cassette label,had lots of cool audio of killers,etc.,and weird bands.

MISFITS - vampira

It's October,and all thru the month I will be sprinkling the blog with Halloween related music.Lets start off with this compilation of tracks from 4 different bootlegs from the Misfits.Spanning from 1979 to 1983, there are live songs from NJ,NY,and MI,plus some demos from Ambionic Studios.I have lots more Misfits boots for ya,too!On Baby Face Records.How about that cheezy logo,and skull,wtf is that??!!?I just saw a recent picture of Danzig,with a Danzig t-shirt on,coming out of the grocery store with a bag of cat litter! I hope he's making bombs with it!
