ONE FELL SWOOP - Nubiles Galore

On this ,their final home recording (next up is the live gig tapes ,from the Draft House and other locales!) the trio is joined by Sean Sommers ,and a few "real" nubiles ,Shannon and T.J. This day also saw the one-off recording of a side band ,Li'l Shavers (found elsewhere on this blog) There is also one long-lost track (Pull The Trig) ,recorded in Cape Coral at Mumsy's ,by Count Vance ,with Ed,Joel,& Chipmonk playing ,and Eric "Trig" Triglet, on vocals and mini vacuum ,which I will locate and post ,soon! On this particular recording ,tho' , Black Flag's "Nothing Left Inside" leads it off ,followed swiftly by the golden oldie ,"Shave And A Haircut" ,and then runs thru 6 more college-rock tunes ,and ends with a lo-fi voyeristic track ,"Packin' It In (With The Meat Puppets) ,wherein the core trio talks about several issues and the upcoming Meat Puppets show. A great band ,spun off from the mighty Cat Machine! You deserve everything that's coming to you! I'm talking directly to you ,the listener! Hope you take my tip! BUZZ WORKSHOP

on this occasion the band was me,joel,billy,mike smith,and trig sings one song towards the end.this whole session had particularly cohesive,and tuneful songs,which is why i posted it in it's entirety.there are a bunch of buzz workshop tapes,all with varying styles,members,and sounds.we will get to them all ,eventually.for now,crank this!

VANCE BURDGE-early solos

Vance is one of my best buds.We were in tons of projects together,but I'm not on this at all.But Nathan Adams,Eric'Trig'Triglet,and Nick Dunphee,do help out a little.About 50/50 on originals vs. covers.Some of the covers are from David Bowie,Love and Rockets,Christian Death,Black Sabbath,the Beatles,Bauhaus,the Go-Go's,and Vanilla Ice.You can kinda tell why we called him 'The Count',due to his affinity for goth.The Go-Go's ,Vanilla Ice,and Bauhaus numbers are parodies about local luminaries such as Shawn,Splashman,and Guy Gentry.There's also a hilarious imitation of Nick Dunphee on, 'Nick the What?'He leads off with the only country song I think he ever recorded,and goes into his goth styled tunes,some real trippin'stuff,and all those ace covers.Check his name on this blog ,He's probably in half the bands featured here!A fantastic all around friend,musician,singer,and the best engineer /soundman we had.A very accomplished artist. EPSTEIN- LIVE!-at trig's birthday party at gare's house,3/20/93

This was supposed to be "Whoreshack" live but the other 2 members didn't show up so I played guitar and had 4 drummers,all at once,who included,:Brophy,Trig,Sean,and Tony.I know it sometimes sounds as if there's 2 guitars,but it's all me with effects and delays.Broke into the middle of a mellow acid hippie party to wake them up with the reality of this music.I'm sure they were trippin' balls and this probably took them over the edge.At least 30 hippies were in attendance,and I fled after the last note.Whoreshack was me ,Billy,and Mike, same style, instrumentals mostly,and sometimes Vance on bass.This is a freak-out session,and the sound quality is of the "you are there"variety,I think you will like!Click here:

EPHEDRINE SYMPHONY or "The Fall"jr.-WE PLAY AT MIDNITE!!

One of the greatest American "The Fall" cover bands,they existed for only a few months,and even then,only in a live context.These recordings were done at the world famous "Draft House"and included such local luminaries in it's ranks as, Joel Rizzo,( as Mark Smith),Ed Wood (me),Vance Burdge,Philbert Ze Chocolat Clown,Hippie Sean,Billy Drake,Mike Brophy,Eric Triglet, and more.

Since Joel is the biggest Fall fan in the U.S ,forming this band was a natural.All                              
 members practiced alone at home and then performed as a group on the evenings of our shows.dude we had people goin off in the draft house.we ruled for a few months and then faded out to obscurity.
