WGOD 49.46 - July 9 ,1994

W.G.O.D ,the greatest underground/pirate radio station ,to ever hit the airwaves (back in the 90's in the Ft. Myers,Florida scene!) ,is now available as a Godcast (podcast)! This episode is the midnite show from July 9th of 1994. G O D is joined by guest d.j. J A H ,of W.T.H.C. radio ,and there are liners and drops by oldie station d.j. extrordinaire ,Doug Shannon ,at every twist and turn of this fine show.Food Fortunata even lends his talents with a couple of between song messages himself! The first part is ,as you can see below from the track list ,mostly current (at the time) punk and alt-rock bands ,with a few classics mixed in. The second half of this show consists of some of the latest (at the time of broadcast) Sluggisha Tapes artists ,with their newest songs. Hailed as "Nashville's most fucked up country group" ,from Tennessee ,leader Kurt Wagner and boys ,put out this first single in 1994 ,and are still going today! This has to be from before they became america's alt-country darlings ,as it is spacey and weird. Side a is mellow and has somewhat humorous lyrics.Side b is like what you would hear while coming down off an all night trip ,trippy and just when you think it's gonna end ,it kicks back in with added weirdness. This is cool!

A couple of cheesy surf songs for ya! Both are from (I think) Frankie and Annette surf movies,"Pray For Surf", and "Muscle Beach Party".Goofy vocals,and lyrical twists,tho' not anywhere close to the greatness of their debut single from 16 years before this(found elsewhere on this very blog!).On Ace and Duce Records/Sympathy For The Record Industry 1994.

MISFITS- Jonathan Grimm Sessions

Jonathan Grimm was/is the biggest collector of rare Misfits stuff.He used to have an auction site online,but sold his whole collection to a collector overseas.He somehow was able to try out as vocalist,sometime in 1994.That did'nt work out,but he found work as a roadie,guitar and drum tech,and merchandiser for the band,ever since then.He also tried to be a pro wrestler,and played "Tankenstein" at some Misfits shows.I don't think he ever actually sang at a show,just on these demos,way before Michale Graves,who did'nt even know who the Misfits were when he auditioned.Also ,they do all classic songs,before they wrote any new shit.
