WGOD TIME MACHINE 1982 VOL. 3 PODCAST 10-26-2016

I am still stuck here,in the year 1982 ,playing and listening to ep's and demos while waiting for the garage to repair the Time Machine! This is the third 6 hour podcast of 1982 in this series,with one more 6 hour podcast to come before I blast off to my next destination! There are familiar bands/songs here,but I can bet that most folks haven't heard most of the music featured.The tunes are of their time,you can definitely get the feeling of 1982 ,although some of this holds up today suprisingly well.A lot of these songs are still relevant ,even now! WGOD TIME MACHINE : 1982 VOL.1 PODCAST 9-26-2016

A new series in WGOD podcasts! I will focus on a target year for each show in this series.I start with 1982 ,as I was influenced by a song list posted by Frank Oblak on his facebook page ,of e.p.'s from 1982.I played a couple sets of his picks on a previous podcast,and he has a couple more sets featured here ,right off the top! I am specifically playing e.p.'s and demo tapes from the year 1982 on this show.This is Volume 1 of 1982 ,I will be doing a few more shows from 1982 as well! Then we shall see where the time machine takes us from there!Al Quint said ,"1981 was a pivotal year in music" ,and he wrote an article about it somewheres,and told me not to forget 1981! I will not forget,Al!! In 1982 I turned 18 ,graduated high school ,and had a punk rock summer to the max!! Was listening heavily to the "Not So Quiet On The Western Front" compilation ,Black Flag,Germs,Minor Threat,MDC,Dead Kennedys,Beach Blvd. compilation,Surf Punks,Motorhead, and lots more music ,some you will hear on this podcast! THE MISFITS -Live Michigan WCBN

A live recording,from approx,late 82 ,early 83 ,from a radio station in Michigan.Some of the tracks listed on the back cover are wrong,one is missing,and one is mis-spelled.I corrected all that,but in these grooves ,you will find the boys doing a song, rarely played live ,"Who Killed Marilyn?"Doyle's guitar is more often than not,out of tune,and it sounds as if he's playing the tunes wrong at a few points,he's so de-tuned.Danzig does his best to sing to this,and you can tell,by this point in his career,he's pissed!Songs from the upcoming(at the time) Earth A.D. album are performed,as well as the classics.I haven't seen this particular show posted elsewhere,so come and get it!!WCBN ? Isn't that the "Christian Broadcast Network"? ha,ha!

MISFITS-Live at Finder's Lounge,Hallandale,FL - 10/19/82

28 years ago,on this day(19th),the Misfits performed a live gig,that has all the frailties and foibles,usually found in Danzig-era shows.Doyle's guitar is out of tune ,more often than not,lots of tuning up,Glen bitching,someone messing with the sound board,folks unplugging equipment,you know the drill.When they do build up a head of steam,it's harcore style ,all the way,as they tear thru 22 of their hits!Not the worst boot i've heard,but,not the best either.

MOTLEY CRUE-live"82

I think this is rare.only 8 tracks,5 from the Too Fast For Love album and 3 from the not yet recorded Shout At The Devil.That song is here in it's embroyonic state,Vince Neil is making noises like he's singing,but you can tell he either didn't write lyrics for this yet or it was so new he forgot the words,also on Red Hot he has not many lyrics,Looks That Kill sounds more together like they were playing that for a while,the band sounds tight,the recording quality is ace,and following on the heels of the Moshhawks post,this was kinda crossover,these street punks playing metal with a punk attitude.one of my faves, at least the early stuff,the Leathur Records version of Too Fast is the best.hey check this out it's really good.
