Free - Art Journal for Mixed Media Place

Been a while since I've blogged now
Not because I don't create - I create every day - but less time on the computer.

Anyway, here is an art journal spread for Mixed Media Place

A rather clean and easy page, but with an important message –  free! Many ways to interpret this word but for me this page is about beeing free to create whatever I want.

When I received the package with Finnabair/Prima Stamps “don’t forget to fly” I knew exactly what to do, using the beautiful butterflies. I stamped the butterflies rather random with different amount of ink, just to get some different look.

The butterflies are colored with Ecoline watercolors and Finnabairs amazing brushes.

I also have a little tag to show you.
You only need a tag, some stamps, stencils and colors to make a beautiful tag:

Hope you liked my post and be sure to check out Mixed Media Place shop, new Prima&Finnabair products coming soon!

Two tags - DT Mixed Media Place

Today I have two tags to show you, created for the Creative Gym Challege Exercise #14 at Mixed Media Place
create a Xmas card, tag or ATC (only small forms are allowed)

I chose to make two tags in different colors, one red and one “blue”

Tags are so fun to make and I love to use them as cards together with a gift (instead of a card)

On the red one I used Distress Paint, Distress Stain and Archival Ink on the background to get the color I wanted.

After I got the color I added some gel medium through the bubble stencil.

Some metal from my stash and also some from Mixed Media Place are glued with 3D Gel Medium matte. I used the same gel to mix the mica powder on the metal.
To adhere the Micro Beads I used the same 3D gel medium.
Some seam binding are colored with Distress Paint and I added some of the micro beads on that as well.
The button in the middle says “merry Christmas” (in Norwegian)

On the blue one I used Archival Ink on the background (after gessoing the tag first). It’s so fun to se the different look on the tag when it’s gessoed first (and of course, not to perfect gessoed, just random places).

I used Black Distress paint when I stamped  - love that look!

Added some hints of ecoline watercolor random places on the stamp.
And then I played with the yellow Mica Powder mixed with 3D gel medium, making some beams on the stamps. I also used the same mix with a stencil, the small stars.

Saying goodbye to Art Anthology Dream Team

All good things come to an end they say, and so is my artful journey here at Art Anthology.
I have been with Stayce and her team almost from the start and it has been an awesome journey.
To be able to play with all those fabolous products, to just revel in all the paint and mist, and also recently medium, stencils and embedibles. It’s been pure joy and happiness.
But now it’s time for me to leave, to let other fabolous artists – yes – artists are what we are – start their artful journey here at Art Anthology.
I wish you all the best and most of all – have FUN!!
So to show you my last post I have a special treat for you. At least I thought it was a fun thing to do.
I made tags, to say THANK YOU!!
8 tags, with the letters thank you

STM_AA_BLOG_BANNER
Welcome to Day 5 of the Art Anthology/Stampendous Blog Hop.
This week, we are partnering with each other this week to offer you tons of inspiration using products from Art Anthology and Stampendous. Make sure you check back through the day as there will be several projects posted each day.

I just LOVED the stamps I got from Stampedous and I am really thankful for the possibility to play with those stamps

I Know for sure these will be used A LOT!!
As I am doing a lot of art journal and tags, these stamps are perfect as background stamps!

In this post I will show you three tags and one Art Journal.

First the art journal.

I started the page with some Art Anthology Gesso , Colorations Timeless and Studio Blue.
Next I used almost all of the background stamps I got from Stampendous.
I then stamped the face on a watercolor paper, cut out and colored the eyes and lips with colorations Patience (lips) and Studio blue (eyes)

Next I took some tape on another watercolor paper and cut out like a dress and also the "arms"
Added some Colorations here and there on the background with a brush IMG_7578

Next, my tags.
In fact, the tags are with the same colors as the art journal, Timeless and Studio Blue.

Not that I don't have other colors, but those were the colors that dripped on my craft sheet after using them on the art journal.

On the first one I have used the   die-cut kraftboard, double-sided adhesive paper and glitter, colored with Colorations Studio blue and Timeless
I also misted the ribbon in the same colors, even stamped on the ribbon with the random-text stamp by Stampendous
