Love for Rome - DT Mixed Media Place

Today I have a layout for Mixed Media Place to show you.
Sharing some of my love for Rome.

I have loads of photos from our trip to Rome earlier this year and here I have a layout with one of the photos.
A place called Largo di Torre Argentina. This is supposed to be the remains of Pompey’s Theatre and today it’s a shelter for all the “homeless” cats in Rome. I believe I read that about 150 cats lived there.

The chippies by 2Crafty Chipboard are colored with gesso and some white Ecoline to get it real real white. I also used gesso with the text-stamp.

As I made this photo in black/white I wanted to keep the layout in the same colortones. (I love this combo)
So lots of white Gesso and white Ecoline watercolor on the layout.

Had some fun with Black gelato on the pattern paper from 7Dots Studio Nature walk collection. I marked the lines in the “wood” to get an extra effect. Hope you can see it.

I fell totally in love with Rome and will for sure go back sometime. In fact, I think I want to get old in Rome!

You can check out my post at Mixed Media Place blog to see what kind of products I have used, with links to the shop.

The background paper is by 7Dots Studio and I have used Prima/Finnabair heavy white Gesso + white Ecoline watercolor.

Wish - DT Mixed Media Place

This time I have chosen an old photo of my Grandparents. Sadly they both passed away before I was born, so I have never met them.

I wish I had!

I tried to keep the page in a kind of “vintage” look, using a lot of brown color to reflect that it is an old photo. I don’t know when the photo is taken, but I guess in the early 50’s some time.

Used some mica powder rust, gel medium and stencil on the background.

I rarely use other embellishmenst in my art journals but this time I have used both chippies and metal. All is colored with Mica powder rust and gel medium.

I used some of the elements stickers from the 7Dots Studio Cold Country collection on the top right , to symbolize my grandparent’s children.

Please visit Mixed Media Place blog to see what kind of products used on the page and of course you can buy them at Mixed Media Place shop.

Free! DT Mixed Media Place

Today I want to share an art journal made for Mixed Media Place.

You know they say it’s a time for everything? Well, now it’s the time to tell yourself that you’re good enough!!
When you realize that – then you can bee FREE!

Not everything has to be perfect! Stribing for the perfect will drag you down and never let you be free.

I used some leftovers from 7Dots Studio 9th Wave collections on the background, matching the blue/turqouise ecoline. I’m in love with this color!

I love black Gelato and you see I have used it several places on my page, around the circle (under her head) and also highligting some of the bubbles.

Added some black Gelato around the edges to geth some depth.
I also used black Gelato + water when I stamped the “circle” under her head and on the right side of the page.

You can find lots of the products I have used at the store Mixed Media Place
