Spam filter on Blogger

I discovered something this morning as I signed onto Blogger. Maybe it's been there for a few days but I do not often go to the Dashboard page to approve comments, so it was with great delight that I discovered it today, that Blogger now filters junk spammy comments, such as the ones that Peony wrote about. So listen, you weird and annoying people, there is an auto rubbish bin now for all your nonsense. Yippee!

Sundry man is back

There is a wet market a 2-minute walk from my home and it's where I go for most of my fresh produce such as seafood, meats and vegetables. Since the school holidays, I haven't been cooking much. However, after hubby left last week, I started preparing more bentos for the girl. For my own meals, I just eat whatever I can find in the house if I am too lazy. As such, I still have frozen food in the freezer and haven't been patronising the stalls. After the girl was picked up yesterday morning, I took a stroll over to pick up the Straits Times as well as to get breakfast for myself. Walking past my regular chicken stall, I was greeted by the lady who asked what I needed that morning. Told her I wasn't buying as I have not been cooking. Further along the way were a row of shops selling dry goods such as the usual cooking condiments, garlic, onions, canned food etc. I was really surprised to see that my favourite sundry shop was open. It had been closed for months and the rumour had it that the owner wasn't going to set up shop anymore as he was suffering from ill health and had just had an operation. Of course it was with much regret and sadness when I heard the news.

When we were young, my grandma used to visit this market as we lived very close by. Thus, there are many shops and stalls here that remind me of my childhood days. Although the area has undergone lots of changes, I still remember some faces and places of old. One of them was the pork seller. My grandma used to buy from his father, and I now buy from him. Same goes for the fishmonger. And, last but not least, is this particular shop where we used to get whatever dry goods we needed for the home. During the old days, it occupied a much bigger area than it does now, and they used to sell not just food stuff but cleaning agents such as laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, toilet rolls etc etc. It was also where we kids would pick from the many varieties of biscuits from the tins. So you can imagine my joy when I saw that the shop had reopened. I had to go and say hi to the man and ask after his health. It was really good to see him again. I didn't really need more ikan bilis or garlic, but well, just to show my support and for an excuse at starting a conversation, I did just that. I really wish him well on his road to recovery and I do hope that he continues to open his doors for a very selfish reason... to allow me to live through the memories of my childhood and time spent with my favourite person in the world, my grandmother.

The explosion

After a fun couple of hours yesterday, we returned to Vivo to have dinner with the hubby after his work. Princess wanted to have pasta at Coffee Bean while daddy & I wanted to have prata at Food Republic. In the end, we decided to pack her pasta so we could all eat together at the food court.

I love the prata there and hubby always orders a cup of teh tarik. Princess had finished her pasta and we were almost done with ours, when a lady came by with her pushcart and I ordered a lychee juice. I turned to my bag on my right to get some cash to pay her. Suddenly there was a loud crash and I thought the lady dropped a glass, which was weird as I remembered seeing the drinks in plastic cups. I looked towards the other table where princess and hubby was sitting, and saw some brown liquid all over the table. I didn't have an idea of what had happened as my back was turned. It didn't occur to me that it was the cup of tea which hubby had ordered. I think everyone got a shock, including the drinks lady. Those in the first picture are broken glass pieces, not ice cubes. The good thing was that it didn't shatter into tiny pieces. Princess didn't know what to do so we got her to leave her seat to come over to my right. While trying to get out of her seat, I think she put her palm on the chair or table and a bit of glass got caught in her palm. Everything was happening at the same time, and I was also trying to pay the lady. Hubby was very lucky to not have been drinking the tea at the time of the explosion. It was only when she started crying that we realized something was wrong. Her tiny wound had some blood on the surface but this is different from a splinter where I could just use a pair of tweezers to remove, so after calling over the shop staff who in turn got the manager of the food court over to have a look, we found a doctor at Vivo to take her to. She was very brave even though doctor did scare her a little by telling her not to look and instead look at me and not move a muscle. It wasn't a bit painful at all when the bit was removed. In fact, I think she was pretty proud of her little plaster as she held her hand palms up all the way after that, sort of trying to show that she was hurt and trying to get a bit of attention haha.

We went back to see the manager after that and got a refund of the doctor's fees as well as what we paid for our meal. He was very helpful and apologetic, as well as all those involved in it. The prata man said he was sorry but it wasn't his fault. Haha. I assured him that it wasn't, and that we were ok.

One of my friend's hubby had experienced this same incident before and according to her, there was probably a surface crack on the glass and the heat must have made it explode. But it was really a frightening experience and I just thank God that no glass bits ended in princess or hubby's eyes.

My heart is heavy

... sigh

This has not been a good start to March. We're only into the 11th day of March and I have been having problems with girl in school. First with missing items in school, carelessness, irresponsibility and now, she's being ignored in class by her mates.

When I picked her up after Chinese Speech and Drama class yesterday, she told me that no one in class wanted to be friends with her anymore. :( Why? Well, according to her, a certain girl in class is influencing the rest of the girls to not talk to her. I have no idea what the reason is but this girl has been giving her problems since last year. It doesn't help that she has been given the highest authority in class, both years. Speaking of which, why do schools have all these glamorous titles for kids in P1 & 2? From what I have observed, girl in question is a smart girl, in top Chinese class, and a favourite with both P1 & P2 Form Mistresses. However, I can't take it at face value that the entire class is not friends with her, so upon more probing, I found out she does have friends, but what hurts her most is that the friends not speaking to her are actually the closer ones, people she used to hang around and play with.

As she confided in me, the brave girl was trying to hold back her tears, but I assured her that she is loved by us, and if these girls choose not to befriend her, it's ok. She can spend more time paying attention in class and not be distracted. Besides, she has other friends. I felt her hurt and it made me really upset. I'm glad for the one week break from school so that she will put it behind her for the time-being while she concentrates on her ballet exams next Wednesday. It helps that we are having a sleepover at my home with a little 5-yr-old for company this Friday. That would cheer her up.

Missing lunch :(((((

Sigh... I am just so upset now.

I don't know where to begin.

Remember this?

The thermal flask and lunch box as well as the bag have gone missing.

She didn't even get to eat the food in the flask.

I was in the mrt on my way to meet friends at Bishan for lunch today when I got a call from the girl. I thought she just wanted to say hi and hear my voice as she sometimes does that during recess. Unfortunately she brought bad news. She told me that her lunch box was missing, she didn't say the entire bag. However, she said that she had money to buy lunch from the canteen. So that was good. She mumbled something about having left her bag in class and when she next went back, it was gone. "Bye" and click... line cut off. So this mummy was left hanging onto her last words.

I immediately called the school office to ask if anyone had come in with a lunch bag that they had found. The clerk checked and said that they didn't have it. I told her to give me a call if they did, and left my contact number with her.

She just got home and I have been told the story. Apparently she had left her lunch bag in class when she went for her Chinese class in another classroom. When she returned, her lunch bag was missing. As they then had to proceed to the school hall, she left it at that and came back a second time later on at 1pm, to look for it again. It was nowhere to be found.

I know my child better and I know that she is a very responsible girl. Unless she had made a mistake and had left the bag somewhere else, there is no way that bag could have walked itself out of the classroom.

I just hope the teacher will get back to me asap and find out what happened, or better still, found that bag.

Pretty things

Went on a trip with friend and her family to Bukit Indah. Was a great shopping trip which was almost cancelled due the men didn't agree to the all-women & kids group driving up there alone. There were 2 cars and 12 of us in total, and we had a great time eating & shopping till it was too late. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to pack my camera so no photos were taken. :(

I enjoyed shopping at Jusco without having to worry, like in Penang, about excess baggage or what can't be carried on board, etc. Discovered these Magnolia milk bottles, very cute. I'll be sure to pick these up the next time I'm there again. They come in the usual three flavours of chocolate, strawberry & plain.

Whilst browsing the bread section, I found these cute Squiggles by Gardenia which we do not have in Singapore. It was a great find too and one I'm sure princess would love (she wasn't with me on the trip), so I picked up 2 packets of these. They are on my shopping list for my next trip too. :)

For her tea today...

... and this from Breadtalk - very prettily decorated bell. Love it! And yes, my girl loves to eat non-stop when she's home.

Pardon me

Yes, I am aware of the ugly photobucket thingy all over my blog, but I can't repair it, so have to wait till hubby's free to fix it. Do bear with it. Thanks. :)

Hello Kitty?

My girl has been bugging for pancakes ever since she spied a new bottle of golden syrup on the kitchen counter. I've, of course, been too lazy, and putting it off each time. Finally when we were at the chiller section of Carrefour yesterday, she saw the buttermilk (and that has been on my phone reminder for weeks now), and she was so happy, that I had no choice but to pick it up... hehe.

So, while tidying out my cabinet this morning, I found my Hello Kitty pancake/egg mould, and decided to make that.

Before -

After -

This chocolate was added at the last minute, literally, just as we were leaving to wait for the school bus, so it turned out really yucky, but the important thing is that there is chocolate on the pancake, no? Who cares if it's ugly? :P

My helper with the HK face. I love this stuff, just heat up and squeeze. :)

Before she left the house, I told her to hold the bento properly and not to put it into her school bag. Today's bento is very shallow and there's lots of space for the fruits and pancake to 'run amok'. I used a Lock 'n' Lock container. I love this one which comes with 4 little compartments which I didn't use today. She was very careful, till, when she was sitting on the bench and started playing with the neighbourhood kids. The next minute, I heard the bag drop and my heart broke into pieces. :(

On a happier note, I received my parcel from CP. Very pleased with the panda, duck picks. :) There's also onigiri wrapper and my much-awaited shoe puncher. :)) Got the Stitch picks as they were on sale.

Top of the World (+ bento #48)

My girl woke up this morning, gave me a very big, tight hug and said, 'the person I love most in the whole wide world is Mummy!'. What a way to start off the day. :D

Poor child came home after school yesterday feeling totally miserable. She didn't have much of an appetite the past two nights, but I made her eat her dinner. I guess it should have been a sign that she wasn't feeling too well. So last evening, I thought in order to cheer her up and entice her to eat, I'd make her a bento. I spent a great deal of time on it (not that it looks fantastic or anything), and guess what? She came home with a running nose, and didn't want to eat much. She only had the salmon sausages, the young corn, and the tomatoes. That's it! I was livid because of all the time spent on the preparation, but yet I couldn't blame her. I gave her a dosage of Dimetapp and by 8.30pm she was asleep. She had a great rest and woke up much better this morning. Her running nose seems to have stopped for now, but I can't risk her getting sick, as the next few days is a busy time for us. School lets them off at 5pm today so we're off to church, followed by Stations of the Cross tomorrow. The weekend is also chock-a-block full with ballet, parties, Easter, etc. Just hope she'll recover enough to enjoy it.

In last evening's bento, there was fried bee hoon, siew mai bunnies (quite ugly... haha), salmon sausages, young corn umbrella, a basket of greens (broccoli) in a tomato base with spots of flowers (carrots), 2 cherry tomato ladybugs, and a basket handle made from a strip of carrot. For fruits, she had mangoes. Needless to say, she polished off those mangoes no problem. Oops, anyone spotted the mistake I made with the leaf picks? I put them on upside down in a rush. No wonder they were too short and didn't stick in properly haha. I love my hamburger bento box which I'm using for the first time. :)

Bentos, etc... (comprising bento #45, 46)

Hello there, I'm back again with some updates. I haven't been doing bentos much lately so haven't been in the mood to post. The good news is that the princess is enjoying her catered food in school, but she says she'll be back to bento in July after the term break. So meanwhile, I do them on and off but not the full meal like those I make for her to take to school. For the set below, I think it was given to her for lunch as the school snack for that day was only a chocolate muffin. Actually, the truth was that I couldn't wait to use the pink cherry bento box. :P I tried out the penguin sausage cutters sent over by friend, and maybe because I used the mini sausages, the imprint came out really weird-looking. The tulip one turned out better as shown in bento #46.

Bento #45 -

Bento #46 -

I tend to pack her a little bun for her to eat on the way home. As we are not allowed into the school, I really have no idea what she eats each day. However, she mentioned the other day, that they are allowed seconds and thirds with their food, so at least I know she's eating ok. She also said she had 5 slices of honeydew one day, haha, my little fruit bat.

I thought this plate was very cute and just had to take a photo of it. We had lunch at Hooked at Rail Mall last Sunday and this was what she ordered. I think the only reason she ordered this dish was because in the menu, there was a caption that said... 'the parents don't get it', much like the UOB Lady's card slogan, get it?!

Oh yes! Was with the girls at Sanrio Harbourfront outlet and there happened to be some lucky dip happening. We decided to try our luck and look what I won?? Couldn't be more pleased. :D

I made some onigiri for princess' lunch today, together with some crabsticks which I lightly fried in some batter. Actually the intention was to prepare a bento for myself since I was going to the hospital for my regular check-up. I tend to go early and do my blood test, then have lunch and wait to see the doctor.

This is princess' lunch which she had before she left for school. I also gave her some mangoes and strawberries after.

This is my portion. :) One of the onigiri contained salmon flakes and the other had ground black sesame powder and a piece of batter-fried crabstick within. Below is my fruit portion.

All contained within this very beautiful Hello Kitty cooler bag.

I picked up this pair of dinosaur cutters from Daiso. Aren't they cute?

Complaints, complaints & surprises (the all-in-one post)

Gosh my blood is boiling. I know, it's Lent, I should try to be more forgiving. Unfortunately, argh, even though I know who the culprit is, I can't confront them without evidence! We just got home a little while ago and saw some little black creepy crawlies, and if you know me by now, I hate those little things. Hubby saw two climbing along our door frame and then when I went to throw out some rubbish, I found to my shock, that someone had left a cake box with the cake base and leftover cream and cake beside the bin area. That is what they are coming for! Sometimes I do hate these common rubbish bins. Granted, it's better than having your own within your house, because we don't get cockroach or rat problems that way. Still, people need to be more considerate. The whole area stinks, as not only have they put the cake box there, they have also thrown some bags of rubbish (foodstuff) along with that! Argh!!!! Why are some people so lazy they can't even open the chute and dump stuff in?? It's not like they need to physically pull it open, they just need to use their foot on the pedal! If they are that lazy, they do have a helper!!!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Little people are people too.

How many times have you been to a restaurant and the little people aren't given menus? Somehow they are always invisible and only adults can be seen. Also when in a queue, I've seen adults ignore kids and cut the queue or the service staff totally ignores them. We experienced that today when princess went to order a cake at a coffee joint. She came back without her cake and said that the lady didn't see her, and didn't want to go back again to get it. I think what could have happened was that she must have served the person behind princess. It takes a lot of effort on a kid's part to have that much courage to go independently to do stuff. I've always taught her from a very young age to be independent and not be shy. She is still struggling a little with it but on the whole she's doing a good job.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a brighter note, so pleased to catch this beautiful sight last evening from my kitchen window. I love rainbows. I remember one year we went to Hawaii and there were rainbows every day. What a pretty, awesome sight!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friend told me that she had sent this over in the beginning of the week. I'm so pleased that it took 5 days to arrive. Love all the stuff she sent especially the face punchers, and the fork & spoon one which I can't find at all in Singapore. She even got the sausage cutters! And so kind of her to get those Happy Birthday candles as well. Yippee! I do so wish that the 100 yen shop will find its way to our shores soon. Thanks very much, girlfriend. :D

These were some of the bento boxes that she got from 100 yen. Love them all. :)

I love how compact they become when they are folded up.

Here's another gift from another friend...

I sprinkled some hello kitty seaweed on princess' dinner last evening, and made her a Japanese curry which she's currently in to. I wouldn't even call it curry, it wasn't even a tiny bit spicy haha.

We had chicken nasi briyani which I had bought from my hawker centre in the afternoon. Was a good move, as it rained very heavily in the late afternoon, so we didn't need to go out to get food. Hubby enjoyed it and it was very reasonably priced at $3 a packet. Where can you get a nice packet of nasi briyani at that price these days??

Have a good week ahead. For me, I'm looking forward to being on my own again during the day. :)

Just complaining...

Something is very wrong with blogger today. It doesn't allow me to load photos. It keeps saying it's done but no photos are loaded at all. Am I the only one facing this problem today? Anyway, it's frustrating having to do it over n over. I even tried logging out and in again. Will try again later...

Oh alright, have checked out other blogs and it doesn't seem to be a problem with just me. All our photos are missing from blogger so there must be something funny going on.

Sick

I was down with a serious bout of tummy flu which started on Boxing Day morning and it lasted a week. The throwing up was so bad it was continuous at I had to get a jab from the doc to stop it that same afternoon. It did help but then a high fever developed for an entire night and thank God that hubby was on leave for that period so he could take care of me, the chores as well as the little girl. I was very weak and could hardly get out of bed. But 2 days after the fever stopped, I started having the runs, and till today, my tummy is still not fully recovered. But I'm more or less back to normal now, and have started preparing good bags for princess' classmates on Friday. I can't believe that she's turning 7 so soon, in less than a weeks' time.

Too long...

Wow, just looking at the date on my last posting... it's 18 Dec 08. Goodness, that is really a long time since I last updated. Well, a Happy New Year to you all. My apologies to those who have asked for recipes or details regarding caterers etc. I'll try to update those soon.

It was a really busy time the last 2 weeks of Dec, what with Christmas & the many play dates we had. There were two play dates at our place, with Princess' classmates from kindy, an art-themed one where the kids painted on canvases over at J's, and there was also a cookie decoration on over at a swimming class mum, M's, place. We had loads of fun. Every day was packed with activities. We wanted to spend as much time as possible with friends whom we won't get to meet so much now.

Mashed potatoes, salmon with bearnaise sauce, and baked chicken thighs.

Baby spinach & rocket salad, with persimmon, cherry tomatoes, dried blueberries & almond flakes, with a balsamic vinegar (courtesy of beau lotus) dressing.

We had a simple Christmas dinner this year, as always, with mum and sis in attendance. I didn't bake a turkey, no energy for that, but even though simple, mum still thought I put in too much effort into the prep. But really, I only started preparing for the dinner 2hrs' before it was due. The salad was easy to prepare, no cooking involved. The salmon too was quick. Only the chicken took a slightly longer time to bake. Oh yes, I did prepare an apple pie and served it with ice-cream, and the little flower biscuit hors d'oeuvres were filled with canned tuna mixed with some finely chopped onion.

Proud moment

My princess made me so proud today.

There was a storm raging when we got to the pool, half an hour early, before our class was due to start. So we got there ok but the first class couldn't proceed as there was lightning and the lifeguard was blowing the whistle to get everyone out of the pool.

So while we were waiting for the rain to die down and for the lightning to stop flashing, there were a few friends of princess' and they sat down to play some games. Halfway through, one of the mums bought them packets of Twisties to share and my girl came up to ask me for permission to have some, and I said no. I'm a strict mum when it comes to snacks (junk stuff like crisps), sweets etc and I don't like her getting into the habit of consuming them. The same goes for aerated drinks. So, I was distracted chatting to the coach when she asked, and just waved her off. She didn't protest but I didn't think too much of it. A few minutes later, I turned to look at the little group and realised that she was indeed being very good and while the others were snacking, she was just sitting there amongst them, not touching the stuff. It impressed me a lot that she didn't push for it, and it softened my heart watching the poor child exercising self-restraint amidst the temptation, so I relented and told her she could have a little. After a couple, she asked how many more she could have and I said two. That was that, end of story. No pestering whatsoever for more. So it is something that I'm proud of, for her having the responsibility to seek my permission first, and also exercising self-control.

Oftentimes I try to teach her stuff like not to take sweets from strangers etc, but I don't know how much of it gets processed in her little brain. Kids love sweets and it takes lots of self-restraint to say no to a sweet dangled right in front of their little faces. Just the week before, at Halloween, we visited Harris the bookstore and they had the staff dress up in their Halloween outfits, going around with baskets and handing out sweets. I was quite a distance away from princess and she came up to where I was and asked if she could have a little sweet. She said the man from the store offered her one and she said no to him. I told her it's ok, she could have it. So she went up to the counter and asked him nicely for one. On our way out, the same man offered them to another little kid, but she too said no. I laughed to the man and said, all these kids are very well-trained. And I think as parents, that is something that is very important that we ought to impart to our kids. And I try to teach her through the story of Snow White and ask her questions like, did she know the apple was poisoned when SW accepted it? Did it say on the apple that it was filled with poison? The same goes for sweets or stuff that strangers might offer you, so never accept anything from strangers.

Vacuum

Let sleeping dogs lie...

This sleeping dog was rudely woken by an extremely loud noise at 7am and let me tell you, she wasn't a happy one, having fallen asleep only at 2am. It lasted approximately 10-15mins. The noise level was merely a decibel below the Formula 1 cars. She immediately got out of bed, washed up, changed and went downstairs to hunt down whoever was responsible, to give him a piece of her mind. I mean this is ridiculous, on a Sunday morning at 7am??!!!

Well, she did find the man, but having missed him the first time she spotted him, as he was without his guilty weapon (a mega powerful vacuum), she had to find out from a cleaner as to what the noise was. When she did, she chased the supervisor around and gave him a good thrashing! But what's the use? Her sleep has been disturbed and she can't go back to bed now. So that's why she is venting her frustration here.

The town council, if you're reading this, please get this straight... I am not going to be disturbed from my sleep at 7am so that my block can participate in some 'cleanest block' contest! How does it benefit me? All I can say is sleep isn't it! I also have a suggestion for this contest - have a time period say over 3 months and spot checks are done during this time and then a winner is decided upon. What's the use of doing the one-time cleanup to determine the winner on the very day itself? Everyone will be scrambling to get their blocks as clean as possible! What kind of a competition would that be? And meanwhile, we have to live with dirty lifts or lobbies and rubbish collection areas etc on a daily basis??? This very much resembles our education system where we are graded over one single paper for each subject and then judged if we are smart or dumb. Well, what can we say... welcome to Singapore.

And since I am on the subject of noise, I think that it should be mandatory for all car owners to attend some course on learning to switch off their car alarms and not let it play on like some music blasting from the radio. That is what we get most mornings and our flat being right beside the car park doesn't help things.

It's real!

It's finally here... the tickets for the F1 qualifiers! I was beginning to doubt it was true. :P

Hubby's colleague kindly offered race tickets for Friday and Saturday to his friends, and really, I wasn't supposed to be going, but when I found out he (hub) was invited, I kicked up a fuss and said, if I wasn't going, he won't be going either. When I first heard news of F1 coming to our little island, I was very excited and said we should go watch, but he said tickets would be very expensive so no way. I really need to thank WL for sacrificing his ticket so I can go instead. Thanks so much!

Sleepover has been arranged and Princess' little girlfriend is too cute. She's rather 'deprived' according to her mum, and has never had any friends over to her house before, so when D told her about it, she started counting down the days like more than a month ago and has been bugging her mum about it ever since. Me? I chose not to say a thing. But dad leaked it out to her.

I had my own race yesterday... from one party to another. One was from 2-4pm, and the second was from 3-7pm. For the past year, I think this is the first time two parties have overlapped. By the end of yesterday, I was exhausted even though I didn't do much. My joints acted up today and I haven't been very mobile. Still, preparing lunch and dinner is a must! This little packet caught my eye when I was at the supermarket and I decided to give it a try. It's not too bad. I used pork fillet as that was the only meat in my freezer, and was quite pleased with the taste. I'm not into Korean food, so I can't comment on it, but it suits my palate.

My Ah Ma used to cook this cauliflower in tomato sauce when I was young. It isn't my favourite vegetable but I would eat this version. She used to cook the plain ones for everyone and the one with tomato sauce for the kids. :) Basically it's just tomato sauce, a little bit of salt and sugar to taste.

Spinach soup. I used ready stock and just added the ingredients.

F1 fever

This beautiful Ferrari is parked outside Parkway Parade. We simply had to take some photos. Looking forward to the F1, but I also agree with Camemberu that our roads are not made for racing. Well, we'll have to see when the race actually happens. I'm sure though, that the people responsible for it wouldn't have given the go-ahead if it really wasn't suitable. But tickets are actually not sold out yet? Hmm... I didn't know that. All I know is that the ticket prices are very high and so are the hotel prices during that period.

Guess who's sick?

Gosh, the bug has come to me. I woke up on Sunday morning with a tummy ache and some body aches as well. Went for mass, then to lunch at Keyaki Pan Pacific. Hubby said to postpone lunch but I didn't wanna be a wet blanket. So, anyway, the good news is that princess is now well. She started eating a little on Saturday and at lunch on Sunday, she ate so much it was crazy. I guess she knows good food when she sees it. Haha. The other good news is that her paed called last evening and said that the urine results came back ok, no funny bacteria. I, on the other hand, was too sick to join in the fun at a playdate we had arranged weeks before, as yesterday was a day off from school due to it being Teacher's Day. For the rest of the kids, it's actually the weeklong term break. While I was sending princess down in the lift to a friend who had agreed to pick her up so she didn't miss the fun, she said to me, 'poor mummy can't go to her friend's house, but lucky me I get to go swimming'. :/ So I slept a lot in the last two days, and saw the doc in the afternoon yesterday and got some medi to fight the bug. Feel a lot better in the tummy now but still rather weak. Hope to be well soon.

Tummy's still aching

It's been a week since the tummy aches began and till today we don't know what it is. We went to see the paed yesterday, as one week is too long to not be having an appetite where my girl is concerned. She told me, I hope I get well soon so I can eat nice food. Awww... doesn't that just break your heart? Well, she did a urine test and we hope to get the results very soon. But on the bright side, she asked for breakfast this morning and also her dinner of bee hoon which I da bao from J's. Thanks dear J, she finished all the bee hoon. It's the happiest thing for me this whole week, just to see her eat and ask for food.

Thanks to all those who posted comments which I didn't reply. Not that I was that mega busy, maybe it was just the weather, as well as the little one not being well, but just plain lazy to do anything, and not in the mood to bake or cook. Nice to hear all your feedback with regards the article before this one. And Peony, no worries, just help yourself. I pinched them from other blogs too. ;)
