Exciting News - BH&G Feature!!!

It's been pretty exciting around our house lately! I'm still on cloud nine and
truly couldn't be more grateful for the opportunity to have our little old house we
love featured in BH&G!

Do you guys remember when I shared the details of the photo shoot two years ago, and
then BH&G's Refresh Magazine Spring 2015 feature of the exterior of our home and yard.
And, also mentioned our interior would be in the Refresh Fall 2015 issue.
The dates, as well as which magazine our interior would be featured changed a few
times over the past couple years, and I'm still bowled over that it ended up in the
October issue of Better Homes & Gardens!!

I'm happy to be able to share some of the photos with you, as not all the homes
they feature are published in all areas, and ours happened to fall in that category.

As you know, if you're a regular reader, furniture gets rearranged,
walls repainted, and color schemes refreshed...often. It's fun to look back
and see how it's changed.

Wow, the entry is still the same!

My favorite thrifted chairs, after their makeovers, are still in my living room today.
(I'm not as bad as I thought!)

This hutch has had nine lives, and was one of my favorite makeovers. It's now
white and in my dining room.

My mostly neutral dining room, except for the addition of my bold buffet, and a peek at
 the nailhead ceiling.
This set of chairs is going on Craigslist any day, if you're local and interested let me know.

This free dresser I rescued from the street was the first time I was brave with a
bold paint color. I was so scared, ha!

Hmmm...looking at this makes me wonder how my island would look if it were white?

My bedroom hasn't changed a bit, but I'm getting the itch.

BH&G did a great article that was a fun surprise when it popped up on my
Pinterest feed! :)
"The Cottage Makeover is All in the Details"
with lots of before and after photos and links to the DIY tutorials,
 you can find it HERE.

It starts with a diamond in the rough photo when we first purchased our home!

Thank you all so much for always stopping by, and for your endless enthusiasm and
encouragement for all my projects and decor!

xoxo,
Pam

Project Update ~ A Productive Weekend!

Good Monday morning!
Do you guys remember when I found this cabinet on Craigslist, and
Well...I'm not quite finished, but I made a big dent over the weekend, I was on a
roll with the gold Rub 'n Buff!

I haven't mentioned this client project yet, but we've revamped her entry,
powder room, dining room and family room. We purchased this new bench
for seating at her dining room table, and I recovered it for her with this fun polka
dot fabric. I was so excited to change out the original brown leather I totally
forgot to take a before pic, but you can see the retailer's photo below.
And, I tried it out in my living room before loading it up! :)

Have the best week, friends!

My Five Favorite DIY Projects

Hey friends, this month for our My Five Favorite series we're sharing our
Favorite DIY Projects. I got caught up going back and reminiscing over old projects,
some of those early posts were good for a laugh. Be sure to check out what my blogging
pals and our guest found to share, too.

Jennifer @ Dimples & Tangles

Our guest this month is one of the sweetest you'll meet in our blogging community,
She's a DIY pro, how charming are these framed calendar prints she did for her
daughter's room? And, when it comes to paint colors she's a wealth of
knowledge, don't miss this informative post of her 'Go To' Paint Colors.

Here are my Five Favorites:

#1
 Weathered Gray Dresser

A pricey Anthropologie dresser inspired this makeover of an unfinished dresser
my client's dad had made for them. Anthro sells the exact pulls that were on their
dresser, allowing us to come very close to the real deal.

BEFORE

#2
Painted Stone Tile

I still love the fresh look of my painted tile! It went from Tuscan style to bright and
updated in my Kitchen Makeover almost two years ago, and it's held up perfectly!

BEFORE

#3
Garden Spheres

This super easy DIY adds a sophisticated element to your garden and was a fraction of the
cost of the Restoration Hardware spheres.

#4
Weathered Pedestal Table

My client had this great quality pedestal table in a timeless style, but the golden oak finish
wasn't the look we wanted for her updated kitchen. The Arhaus Luca table was our inspiration
 for this pretty makeover.

#5
Tanzania Wallpaper Knock Off

I tweaked a stencil pattern to mimic the similar Tanzania wallpaper pattern I loved.
It's the perfect dose of something unexpected for our entry.

So excited about this DIY!!

Hey everyone, hope you had a nice weekend!
We had a wonderful time celebrating all the awesome fathers in our family with
brunch at my parent's. It was a 99 degree scorcher in Denver, lounging and switching
between golf and a car auction were the activities of choice (by the men)!

Do you remember this inspiration photo for the One Room Challenge Great Room
I just completed? I mentioned how much I LOVED the $$$ Saville cabinet from
Ebanista. I hadn't thought about it, but a few of you encouraged me to DIY one.
Well...the perfect cabinet popped up on Craigslist!

If you use your imagination you can see how I could come up with something
similar, right?

Here are some closeups of the painted detail.
I'm hoping I can replicate the hand painted appearance of the 22K gold they use!

Keep your fingers crossed for me, and I'll keep you updated.

My Five Favorites - Pillow Projects

Hey friends, our My Five Favorites topic this month could be my all time
favorite ~ I'm sure some would find it a bit worrisome how much joy I get out of scheming
and creating a combination of pillows! If you're reading this you most likely find it
completely normal. :) In addition to our Favorite Pillow Projects, we've all created a new
pillow and I'm anxious to check out what these talented girls came up with.

Jennifer @ Dimples & Tangles

I'm so excited to welcome our guest this month, KariAnne of Thistlewood Farm.
She and the beautiful home she's created are as charming as they come,
her inspiring 'about page' is my favorite in all the blogosphere, and how idyllic is
her back deck setting!!

Let's get to the pillow projects.

#1
 DIY Mud Cloth
I've always loved African Mud Cloth fabric and thought I'd try a pillow.
It's the perfect DIY, you truly can't make a mistake, if you do, you simply change your
plan and all is well. It's basically doodling with a tribal vibe.

I'll do a tutorial later this week sharing my tools (A Sharpie!) and complicated process. Ha!

#2
Ikea Pillow with Greek Key Trim
Super simple, no sew ~ no tutorial required!
An IKEA Sanela Velvet Pillow, Greek Key trim from Hobby Lobby,
and a glue gun.

#3
Easy way to apply Greek Key Trim
I'm always in awe over Sarah Dorsey's DIY projects. She attached the ribbon with
no-sew iron on adhesive and shows detailed instructions for attaining those perfect corners!

#4
Modern Tie Dye Pillow
This beautiful abstract look pillow by Jennifer @ Chronicles of Home is on my list for
our hammock!
#5
Pottery Barn Knock Off Poinsettia
(my most pinned pillow)

TGIF ~ The Gems I Found

Happy Friday friends!
I always love checking out the end of the week posts of friends around the blogosphere.
You know, where they list posts that caught their attention. I love the variety,
randomness, design, and coming across a new-to-me blogger mixed in with
a favorite seasonal recipe or a dose of fashion!

Some of my favorites:

Emily's Saturday 6, Rene's Link Love, Kate's Weekend Reading
Jen's The Love List,  Beth's My Favorites this Week, Albertina's Friday Links,
I've planned to post one for the last couple Fridays but got stuck on a name,
the curse of being detailed! I've settled on one, and here are 'The Gems I Found.'

My darling blog friend Katie @ Miss Dixie created a fabulous IKEA Hack!

How chic are these Frontgate Adour Raised Pet Dishes wouldn't they look
great mixed among your summer flower pots!
A fun Mother's Day gift for a dog lover (hint, hint, family).

37 Diagrams for Everything You Need to
 Decorate Your Home

Almost 3 million views on Buzzfeed and I'd never seen this!

Sandra Van Reikhoff @ Divine Day Photography - Silvia Galli @ Sposiamo VI Wedding Planning
Simple, elegant table setting at this wedding is perfect inspiration for an
al fresco gathering...soon!

Stripes & Pom Poms - yes, please! This would be a super easy DIY!

This pretty and practical book with step by step arranging tips was just released,
 and is on my list!

Have a WONDERFUL weekend!
I'll be back next week with a fun DIY project.
