Versatility

I love trying to find ways to use ODBD sets in ways other than they were intended.  I have used two of the new Christmas sets this month to make this 'Love You' card!   I followed the sketch challenge #411 today on SCS for my layout.  The papers are Prima.  I distressed all the layers with my fingernail and inked the edges.  I stamped the chickadee from the Chickadee Ornament set, cut him out and sponged ink on him.  He is popped up with foam tape and has a layer of Glossy Accents that has not quite dried as you can see in the photo!  I used a black SU! marker on the word Love from the same set and stamped it.  Then I did the same technique with the word You from The Babe set!  I made the seam binding (Hug Snug) bow with Becca's Peg Bow Maker gluing it down with Beacon 3-in-1 glue and then added the little Prima flower on top!  The pretty lace and the strip of pearls were a gift from a sweet friend!  I am also submitting this to Word Art Wednesday!

So glad you could stop by and I hope to see you again soon!!

For the Love of Winged Things

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's Alumni Team's bi-monthly For the Love Blog Hop.  This week it's all about winged things!   Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, check the ODBD blog for full list of links.  One of the post is a hop hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate.  So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love!  You have until Wednesday, June 20th at 6 pm.   Enjoy all the awesome inspiration using For the Love of ODBD Winged Things!
If you landed here from the wonderfully talented Lori's blog then you are in the right place!!!
We are so happy to have you join us today!!!
I chose to use the ODBD set called He Watches Me.  I love this image with it's coordinating scripture and quotes!  And the sparrow has a custom sparrow die to match!  How cool is that?!

I colored the image with copics and then cut it out with the die.  I stamped the quote and cut out a banner to stick inside the frame.  The frame is sprayed with Blue Glimmer Mist to match the Prima paper and Prima flowers.  The seam binding bow was made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker.  I finished the card with some pearl flourishes!

Now head on over to the blog of the super sweet and talented Jan Keen for more inspiration!!!

Enjoy the hop y'all!
See you again soon!

Blessings and Prosperity

Hi there!  I have been having a serious case of creative block!  Finally, I have something to show you!!!

This is for the following challenges:

WT373-Don't Stress, Distress!

This image and sentiment is from the new ODBD set called Happy Retirement.  I stamped it in black and stamped the image again so I could cut out the hammock and pop it up.  Ahh!  How nice it would be to be in a hammock on the beach under the shade of palm trees blowing in the wind .......Oops, sorry for the little daydream there!!  LOL!!!  I distressed the edges and used black ink on the distressed edge.  I colored little areas with copic markers and added Flower Soft Sand to the beach.  I added hemp twine and black rhinestones on the trees.  Done!

You will eat the fruit of your labor,
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Psalm 128:2

Thanks you so much for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Friend

Hi there!!  Got a couple of cards to share today!  This one is for the following challenges:

I used the new ODBD set called Faithful Friend.  The designer paper in the background is embossed with a SU! folder and I rounded the top corners.  I glued down two types of lace and then added the Cheery Lynn Designs doily, the sentiment Spellbinders circle and the CLD flourishes.  Then I glued down the Bow Easy bow and the pretty Prima flower.  I stamped the dragonfly and colored it with copics before cutting it out and gluing to the card.  Then I added stickles to the dragonfly!

And this card is being entered to:

I used the Faithful Friend set on this card too.  The designer paper is Prima.  I sliced off part of the Cheery Lynn Doily and stamped the sentiment.  Added velvet ribbon and lace and pearls to the edge.  a Bow Easy lace bow and Prima flower along the side more pearls too.  Stamped the dragonfly with the same brown ink as the sentiment and cut it out.  I had to add stickles on him so hope that counts for the no coloring challenge!

Thanks for visiting!  See you again soon!

It Is Well With My Soul

Good morning!  Hope you all have had a wonderful week!

Got a little sneak peek of a new stamp coming out Feb 1st from Our Daily Bread designs!
Sheet music to the beautiful old hymn, It Is Well With My Soul!

I wanted to try the Belleek technique that I enjoyed so much earlier this week!  I inked up my Cuttlebug Textile Texture folder with pink ink and then sponged off a little of it to help make it more muted.  Once I ran it through my bug, it was still a little too pink.  So, I went about trying to tone down the piece by painting it with white acrylic paint using a very light touch.  Then I also painted it with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist.  And then I even sprayed it with Pearl Glimmer Mist!  I finally had the shade and look I was going for.

So then I did the same applications to each die cut.  I've used the Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish, Spellbinders Squares, Fleur de Lis Squares, Blossoms Tags and Accents and the angel wings are from an old Spellbinders ATC die set.  The heart is made of wood and is also painted.  I stamped the music on the back ground of the card, stamping if off first on scrap paper and then also did the same painting technique to this piece.  You should have seen my hands!  After it had all dried, I put everything together, and added the little silver bow and tiny pearls.

Here is a little tip:  I got a little too much paint on the sentiment tag, which covered up the song title too much.  So I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp it again which helped a lot!  What a wonderful tool!!!

I am sharing this card in the following challenges:

Thank you so much for looking and I hope you have a beautiful weekend!

Hi everyone!!  Have you had a great week?  I hope so!  And I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!  I wanted to share a little sneak peek of a new stamp that will be released from Our Daily Bread designs on June 1st.  It is called Save Time and is part of a new collection called The Blessings Collection.  So how many of you remember this song?  I know I sang it over and over again once upon a time!  One of my favorites!!  This particular verse from the song is beautiful!  Kelley has some really gorgeous sets coming out so be prepared!!!  You're gonna love 'em!!!

Ok for my card, I went a little button crazy!  Sorry, I couldn't help myself!!  If you don't like buttons, turn away, turn away!  LOL!!!  I followed the Midnight Madness sketch this week and also the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge to create a card of encouragement with touches of silver.  The designer paper is embossed with the ODBD Vintage Border embossing plate and inked up with a distress ink pad.  After the seam binding, lace, butterflies, pearls and massive amounts of buttons (and the touches of silver!),  I sprayed the whole thing with Glimmer Mist in Simply Khaki and Dazzling Diamonds!

Encourage Someone Today

I seem to be giving this type of card a lot in recent years.  When I am going through sad or stressful times in my life, the more I hear of others that are in need of encouragement and prayer.  Please make some time today to encourage someone you know.  Everyone is going through something...

This is for the Passionately Artistic Blog Be Inspired Wednesday post today.  The background is a piece of designer paper (I'm sorry but I can't remember the manufacturer) adhered to a piece of card stock and then embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder using my Cuttlebug.

Here is a list of supplies I used:

Neenah White card stock and SU! Mellow Moss card stock
Unknown designer paper
Sizzix Embossing folder and Cuttlebug Machine
SU! Pearls

Grace's Frame and Lavender Roses

Hi there!  I was playing again late last night and made this card with the Anchor set by Our Daily Bread designs.  I just love this sentiment as it is perfect for encouragement cards!  I used a base of Neenah Cream card stock and then topped it with White.  The background is embossed with the cuttlebug Grace's Frame embossing folder.  I then added the lace from my stash.  The sentiment is stamped and then cut out with a Spellbinders circle and layered with a Spellbinders Lotus pendant.  This is popped up over the lace and I added a pretty Bow Easy bow and three pretty little lavender roses.  Pearls complete the card!  I really like how this Grace's frame looks with the Spellbinders pendant!  This will make a great encouragement card but this design would be pretty for a wedding card I think!  Thanks for popping in today for a visit!  See you again soon!

The Restless Sea Around Me

Good morning to you!  Happy President's Day!  I am enjoying a beautiful day off!!!  And what do I do on my day off?  Duh!!!  LOL!!!  I made this card for the Midnight Madness #91 sketch and the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge #76 to use green.  I used a beautiful sentiment from the Anchor set released this month by Our Daily Bread designs and also one of the little Fleur de Lis borders! **And look!  This is a sneak peek of a new and beautiful die that Spellbinders created just for Our Daily Bread designs!  How cool is that?!!!  And just wait because, ODBD has a stamp set coming out very soon to coordinate with this die set!  You are gonna love it!!!**  For my background, I ran the Core'dinations card stock through my cuttlebug with the ODBD Fish embossing plate and sanded it to show the green core.   I used the copic air compressor thing to get the green inside the die.  My first time trying it, and I didn't do that great of a job.  I used an EKSuccess border punch for the lacy border at the bottom.  The seam binding is SU! and the snip of lace is from my stash.  I added tons of Zva pearl swirls as well as Zva green pearls for accents! Thanks for stopping by and see you again soon!!!

Be Inspired #104

Good morning!!!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this week
the Cuttlebug Challenge Team has created cards to honor
those who have been affected with this cancer!
Here's is another reminder to go get your yearly mammograms!!!
Don't forget!

For my card today,  I embossed the Anna Griffin designer paper with the Provocraft Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Kassie's Brocade #20-00215, and sponged it with SU! Blush Blossom ink.  The cardstock is Neenah Cream and SU! Blush Blossom.  The sentiment is from a set by Our Daily Bread designs called Pray and the ribbon is from ODBD's set called Hope.  I used a Spellbinders oval to cut out the sentiment and layered it with a Spellbinders scalloped oval.  I stamped the ribbon onto a coordinating piece of designer paper and cut it out.  Do you see the gorgeous pink lace?  My Mom scored this recently at her local thrift store!!!  LOVE it!  I finished the card with pink pearls and a pretty bow I made with my Bow Easy.  I also added a pearly pink brad to the bow center!!!

Thank you so much for visiting with me today!!!

ODBD June Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the June Release Blog Hop!!!  Kelley has some awesome sets for you this month and the Design Teams have been having a blast playing with them!!!  So today, our hop is all about these fabulous sets!  There are no secret words to collect, no email to send... just a fun blog hop.  I am the first stop on the hop today but you may want to check out the ODBD blog and start from there!!!

Here is what you have to do to be eligible to win one of the prizes:
  • Hop to each blog, leave a comment on each one.
  • Return to the ODBD Blog Hop post and leave a comment there telling us that you completed the hop and left everyone comments.
  • If for any reason you cannot leave a comment, please give us the name/s of the designers you were unable to leave comments for... and you'll still be qualified for the drawing.

Here's the fun part!  There are THREE prizes of $15.00 Gift Certificates to the ODBD Store, but they are hidden on three different designer's blogs, and even the designers don't know themselves who has them yet!!!
  • The Blog Hop will run from 8am Eastern  June 1 through 8pm Eastern June 2.
  • At that time the three designers with the prizes will be notified and they will randomly select their winner from their commenters. (So be sure to leave comments on all their blogs!)
  • They will check the ODBD post to be sure the person they draw has left their comment there, stating that they have completed the hop....
  • Then they will give the name to Grace, and the winners will be announced on Sat. the 5th along with the Shining the Light Challenge!

The sets I am using today are another fabulous border set called Fleur de Lis Borders and  a wonderful scripture set called Scripture Series 1.  Kelley had a little contest and asked for submissions from her customers and then she chose 6 to be used for this set!  How cool!!!

I decided to make a little Scripture book, using all six of the scriptures in the set.  I've used thin pieces of chipboard saved from packaging and cut with Spellbinders dies.  Pretty papers, ribbons and embellishments complete this fun little project.  Kelley, this one's for you!
