A little Shabby Chic for Tuesday

It's Tuesday and that means Sketch Challenge day at Try Stampin' on Tuesday

Sketch #106

One of my goals when I first started blogging over a year ago, was to use supplies from my stash.
I have to admit, with so many wonderful products available to purchase, it is hard to do.
I want it all!

What makes it even harder, several of my DT sisters at TSOT are Stampin' Up demonstrators.
They tease me with all their cards by using Stampin' Up stamps and products.
When they make a card, I just want to buy everything they used to make that card.

I absolutely love scouring thrift stores and yard sales for any items I can use for papercrafting.
This past summer I found a box of Anna Griffin wedding invitations for $5.00

Inside the box...
25  cream cardstock invitations with envelopes, flocked floral pocket, reply cards with envelopes
and glitter butterflies with mounting tape.

Anyway, with all that said, here's my card which I made using items from my stash.

Here's my take on Sketch #106, using the items from this box and other supplies
It ended up being Shabby Chic, which I do not make very often.
I really love the way the card turned - very pleased with the finished card.

Isn't this just the prefect sentiment for the card?
The sentiment is from My Favorite Things in the set  You Make My Day,
which I inked in Chocolate ink from Close to My Heart
I finished the card by adding adhesive pearls and vintage lace along the fold.
I then added a flower doily, ribbon bow that matched the flocked pocket, which I cut apart.
A vintage button with floss through the center and two hat pins complete the card.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to check out the rest of the DT creations.
Get creative this week and create something wonderful to share with us.

I will also be entering this card in the following challenges:

I thought of you today

and smiled!

This card is being entered in the Freshly Made Sketches #21 A sketch from Lesley (Seeing Double).  See the inspiration sketch below,  and also check the blog for other wonderful creations.

To make this card:

A2 cardstock base in a cream color with black, cream and tan pattern paper from Close to My Heart.

I used the <Design1> from Elegant Edges cartridges to make my label found on page 27.  I used the oblong frame and shadow cut at 3"

To complete this card:

Using the sketch as my inspiration, I layered my paper as shown in my card photo.  I stamped the "I thought of you today" message inside the label, and then stamped "and smiled" in the bottom right corner (stamps from CTMH).  I cut three flowers out of the pattern paper I used, curled the edges and layered them together.  The last I wanted to add was a pop of RED using brads and twine.
