Rock and Republic????

I know I've been out of the loop for some LONG Time now.  Life has stalled me way behind and blogging is the last thing on my mind.  I love to write and think, so I do miss blogging. I'll eventually find the time to do so.

So what's the Deal with all this commotion of the Rock & Republic Blushers?
It seems that every blog and every facebook post I see is about these blushers?  I know there was a sale on Hautelook awhile back where they on sale for a great price.  So far from what I've seen its much about the hype of everyone trying them and how good they are.  Yikes for retail price of $40? not sure if I want to spend it all on one blusher, but I'm glad lots of people got them for cheap in the sales.

Now for me it comes down to a few questions:  Do I really need more blushers? (I have way too many) Are they worth the $40 or even the $24 it was on sale for?  (IDK)  Are they really that much better than ones out in the cosmetics world?

I do honestly want to try one blush out to see for myself.  Not sure when, but hopefully if one of those sales come along, I'll definitely check it out.  But for now, my $40 is gonna have to stay in my pocket.
Do you like R&R Blushers?  Are they worth it?

Summer Nude - FOTD

Neutrals, nudes, bare faced, seems like the trend this season.  Many colors are being very minimal in color selection and are going for the natural bare faced look.  This is definitely a trend that I like and I think fits for most people.

Close ups of the eyes and cheeks:

Products used:

F: MUFE HD foundation, Sonia Kashuk concealer, MAC Instant Chic Blush, Bobbi Brown Shimmerbrick Platinum Pink

E: Smashbox lid primer, MAC Sable & Shroom eyeshadow, Smashbox Eyelights palette. MAC brown liner, studio fix mascara, Essence brow powder

L: MAC 2n lipstick, Nars striptease lipgloss

For me, I think that subtlety is best when trying to do a natural look.  You don't want to do an over exaggerated look, nor a bland one.  I'm not sure if I was able to achieve the look, but I hope I did.  All I needed was just a slight sweep of color on the eye, nude lips, and light pink shimmer on the cheeks. Its always cool to add in color but natural/nude looks are versatile and  easy to do.  No stress!

Gucci Muchi Pucci!

Its been awhile! Sorry I've been MIA for a few days now! I've been super busy with work and summer classes (you all know how those goes) so I've been playing catch up with bloggin and everything.

Here's a quick Nails of the Week for you all:

Gucci Muchi Pucci
"A Creamy Luscious Pink with a Kiss of Mauve"
~Essie

Here's mine:

more pics:

This is my first ESSIE nail polish! I do adore the color and its such pretty pink with a kiss of mauve. Though it was a bit streaky at first and hard to apply, after a few coats it was fine.  I think I applied like 3 coats to get a good even and opaque color, but I'm sure it will look nice with just 2 coats especially if you're going for a lighter feel.  The polish stayed on well for a few days and was pretty good at not chipping that much.  So far so good for me on Essie products.  Hopefully I can get more in the near future!

Pretty in Pink - FOTD

Lately I've been on a Pink high, and been playing with all my pink colors that is in my makeup collection.  Somehow this Spring as inticed me to do lots of pinks/purples/golds looks, which are colors I love anyways! So this past weekend, I was able to draw some inspiration from a picture I had from a catalog and present to you my make shift version of it!

Pretty in Pink - FOTD

My Inspiration - Sephora Spring Catalog

My Attempt:

Glasses and Curls

Products used:

Face:  Sonia Kashuk concealer, MAC concealer, Vapour Beauty Aura Blush, MAC Instant Chic Blush

Eyes: Revlon Illuminance Moonlit Jewels, MAC Bare Study, Fresco Rose paint pot,
Lancome Moonlight quad, MAC Instant Chic blush, MAC Blacktrack liner and Studio Fix mascara

Lips: Softlip chapstik, Koshize Lk1 lipstick

If only I had features like the model, maybe I'll have a better chance at making the FOTD, look more similar, but hey I got do make the look my own! hehe.  I loved the soft pinks and browns for the eyeshadow which is a color I could wear all the time.  I also loved the lip color.  I don't have any flashy hot pink lipstick like the models, but after searching my stash, I was able to find a bright pink lipstick that work well for me and stood out. I usually just wear soft pinks or nude lip colors, but surprisely I liked the lipcolor.  Other than that, I curled my hair and finished my look and I was all set.

Do you like wearing Pink color cosmetics?

Valentine's Day "Purple Love" FOTD

This weekend, I had the whole day on Saturday to play with my makeup. I've been needing to update the blog with a few more pictures, so I decided since the weather was nice (kinda windy though) it was a good idea to make my face and take a few pictures.

Valentines Day is about a week away! I can't wait!! hehe...Mr. H and I don't have any plans other then him taking me shopping on Monday, which is always good! So I finally got around to doing a V-Day look for you all. I wanted to try and add more color this time around, so I played with darker purples and pinks. I also changed up my hair in the pictures, something different from the norm.

Makeup Used:

Eyes: Benefit Recess Creme e/s, MAC e/s: vanilla, trax, beauty marked, mythology, Stila Pearl Palette, Coastal Scents Warm Palette(pink e/s), Smashbox black liner, MAC studio fix mascara, Essence brow powder

Face: Everyday Minerals Med Foundation, MAC concealer, cremeblend blush in Uncommon, gingerly blush

Lips: MAC l/s: high tea, 3N, MAC cremesheen gloss in boy bait, NYC lipliner.

Valentines Love Look:

Is ready for LOVE!

This was my attempted at doing something else to my hair...(twisted side bangs into loose bun)

For this FOTD, I decided to use more colors in the eyes (more of the v crease area of the eye) and then less makeup elsewhere ie: blush and lips. I also used MAC's new cremeblend blush (which is awesome) and topped it with gingerly blush. I love the new cremeblend blushes as they give off a nice dewy skin look.

Hopefully you all like the FOTD! I will try to get one more Valentine's look out before the day comes! Enjoy your week!

Soft Pink and Browns FOTD
Weekends are the only time I get to really play with makeup especially during the day time. It is the only days where I can take good pictures of my makeup and utilize the sun. Whereas the weekdays, I'm at work or at school, but the time I get home, its sunset or dark out already. (not really ideal for picture taking) This past weekend, I had limited time to play around with my makeup, so my FOTD look consisted of soft pinks and browns, very simple and neutral. Makeup Used: Eyes: Benefit Creaseless Cream in Recess MAC Mythology eyeshadow MAC Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow MAC Espresso eyeshadow MAC Shroom eyeshadow Smashbox Wish Palette "Brown" liner MUFE Aqua Eyes "Silver" liner MAC StudioFix Mascara Face: Everyday Minerals "Medium" matte foundation Sonia Kashuk concealer palette MAC Nuance blush Lips: MAC Boy Bait lipgloss MAC Sugar rimmed dazzleglass
Soft Pinks and Browns FOTD:
(smiles and straighten hair)
(up close)
(soft curls)
I know the color is washed out in the pictures and the colors are a bit sheer (hence the word "soft"). Hopefully next time the pictures will come out brighter and the colors will show more, esp the eyeshadow! Next time for sure it will be DRAMATIC! lol...
