Así fue el taller de caligrafía en Hola Mama Shop

    El fin de semana viajé a Madrid para dar el taller de caligrafía moderna que os anunciábamos hace un tiempo,  en Hola Mama Shop, la preciosa tienda de Paula.
    Tenía unas ganas enormes de que llegara el día, y con mariposillas en el estómago allí que me planté a esperar a las chicas para empezar.
    
   

      No hice muchas fotos, porque una vez que empezamos a trabajar se me pasó el tiempo volando como pasa siempre :) Pero podéis haceros una idea.

    
    Este acebo tan precioso es lo que suelo poner de decoración navideña siempre en casa en Múnich. Así que me recorrí unas cuantas floristerías para encontrarlo, y lo conseguí ;)

     

    Tuve la suerte de tener a las alumnas más requetemajas y aplicadas que os podáis imaginar :)

    Last Saturday was the day I announced for the calligraphy workshop I was giving at Hola Mama Store, a beautiful shop in Madrid with all you need to be creative :)
    I was very lucky and had the nicest girls wanting to learn calligrphy. I really enjoyed giving the workshop and totally forgot taking more pictures. :)
   There will be more workshop coming in 2015, so stay tuned ;)

Haz tus propias tarjetas de Navidad con washi tape

[English version below]

    ¿Cómo lleváis el mes de diciembre? ¿ya estáis en modo navideño? ¿Sí? pues entonces creo que os va a gustar el tutorial de hoy :)

         Vamos a hacer unas tarjetas de Navidad 

fáciles fáciles, pero muy resultonas y 

con muchas posibilidades.

Estos son los MATERIALES que necesitamos:

• washi tape
• troquel circular. El mío es de 2.5 pulgadas (6.4 cm) y lo compré en Delipapel
• tarjetas blancas de la medida que queráis (las mías son de unos 21 x 15cm)
• pegatinas (yo he usado etiquetas blancas de unos 8 x 10 cm)
• rotulador

PASO A PASO

    1. pegamos tiras de washi tape sobre las pegatinas o etiquetas



  2. Con el troquel, recortamos un círculo en la pegatina, que será... una bola de Navidad :)




    3. Pegamos el círculo que acabamos de recortar sobre la tarjeta. Hay que tener cuidado para despegar sólo la pegatina, no el washi tape.
    Con el rotulador añadimos una línea que será la cuerda de la que cuelgue nuestra bola de Navidad :) Podéis añadir la decoración o palabras que queráis.

¡¡Y ya está!! Sencillo, ¿verdad? ¡Podéis hacer los diseños que queráis! La imaginación es el límite :)

    Y bien ¿qué os parece? más fácil y rápido imposible. Y donde esté enviar una tarjeta de Navidad hecha a mano, que se quite todo ;) Ya sabéis que a mí me encanta. Aquí podéis ver las tarjetas de otros años, con fieltro, con un Papá Noel a ganchillo y con tela.

Today I bring you a very easy tutorial to make Christmas cards. :)

MATERIALS:
   -washi tape
   -circle stencil 2.5 inches
   -cards
   -white stickers or labels
   -a pen

STEP BY STEP:

Place the washi tape on a label as shown in the picture. 
With the stencil cut a circle. This will be our Christmas ornament ball.
Stick the circle on the card. (Be carefull to stick the label, and not the washi tape)
Draw a line with a pen. This will be the thread where the ball suspends on. You can add any other decorations and words.
That's it! :) Easy right?

Se nos acaba el 2013 / 2013 is coming to an end

   Es increíble lo rápido que pasa el tiempo... Madre mía... Casi sin darme cuenta aquí estoy otra vez como todos los años haciendo el mosaico resumen con algunas de las cosas que he ido haciendo. 
¿Os apetece cotillear los mosaicos de años anteriores? De momento tenemos 2010, 2011 y 2012 ... y subiendo :)

Cómo hacer tarjetas de Navidad / How to make Christmas Cards

    ¿Habéis enviado ya vuestras tarjetas de Navidad? Seguro que sí. Las mías ya van de camino. Ya sabéis que a mí me encanta hacerlas a mano :) ¿Recordáis éstas que os enseñé?
   Hoy vengo a contaros cómo hacer tarjetas de Navidad a mano muy facilitas, con fieltro y cintas.

    Did you already send your Christmas cards? I bet you did. Mine are on their way :) Do you remember these I made? Today I will show you how to make easy Christmas cards, with felt and ribbon. 

   Material que necesitamos:

1. tarjetas en blanco de 24x17cm. Las hay de todos los colores, las posibilidades son infinitas:)
2. cintas y ric-rac de distintos colores
3. fieltro
4. hilo
   
5. siluetas con formas navideñas
6. tijeras y alfileres
7. máquina de coser (opcional. Si no se os da bien esto de coser, podéis usar pegamento)

   You will need:

1. cards 24x17cm aprox. You can find them in different colors, the possibilities are endless
2. ribbon
3. coloured felt pieces
4. matching thread
5. templates with different shapes
6. scissors and sewing pins
7. sewing machine (optional. You can glue the pieces instead of sewing them)

Instrucciones / Step by step

•     Fijamos las siluetas de papel al fieltro con alfileres y recortamos alrededor. Si preferís también podéis dibujar la silueta y recortar después siguiendo la línea dibujada. 
•    A continuación cosemos (o pegamos) cintas/ric-rac directamente al fieltro para adornar, como más nos guste.

•     Pin the paper template through your felt piece (or you can draw around the template) and cut the felt out. 
•    Now you can sew (or glue) some ribbon/ric-rac on your felt piece, as you like.

•     Cose (o pega) la silueta de fieltro directamente en la tarjeta. 

Si nunca habéis cosido en papel, no tengáis miedo. Es exactamente igual que coser en tela. Despacito no hay problema.

•     Sew (or glue) around your felt piece directly into your card. 

If you have never done it before, no worries. You can sew exactly as you would do with fabric. Just go slowly.

•     Continúamos cosiendo y añadiendo los adornos que más nos gusten. Yo he añadido una línea cosida que parece un hilo del que cuelgue la bola de Navidad y una cinta. Pero podéis estampar algo, escribir lo que queráis, añadir botones, cintas, lana...

•     Pretty up your card the way you like.  I sewed a black line to look like a hanging thread. You can stamp something, use ribbon, buttons, write a message...

    Y listo.
    And you are done.

Munich Makes - El club DIY en Múnich

   Hola a tod@s!

retomo la actividad en el blog, y ¡de qué manera! Vengo a hablaros de nuestro nuevo y flamante club DIY en Múnich. Se llama MUNICH MAKES. :)

   Mi amiga Caru, del blog mylittlemunich, es muy lianta, y tuvo la genial idea de montar nuestro propio club handmade aquí. A ella le pasa como a mí, que echa de menos la comunidad craft tan importante que hay en España, y le gustaría ir a talleres, juntarse con gente a la que le guste todo lo hecho a mano… pero por aquí nos resulta difícil. Así que ella propuso:

 ¡montar nosotras ese club al que nos gustaría pertenecer! :)

   La idea me pareció genial desde el principio, así que hace unas semanas nos pusimos manos a la obra. Queríamos hacerlo bonito, con su logo, con sus quedadas oficiales, con talleres, así que le pusimos mucha ilusión y ayer domingo día 1 quedó inaugurado nuestro club con un primer taller de ganchillo, merienda incluida :) 

   Hi everyone, 
   here I am again. I would like to tell you about our new Craft-Club in Munich. My friend Caru from mylittlemunich, had the great idea of organizing a craft club ourselves, as we have the feeling of missing a lot of things happening in the DIY-community in Spain. 

  So Caru proposed that we create the DIY club we want to be part of, ourselves :) I of course said YES. We started brainstorming a couple of weeks ago, designed our logo, prepared all the materials and finally yesterday had our first meet. First lesson: crochet.

    Antes de que llegaran las chicas aproveché para hacer unas fotos:

   Cuando empezaron a llegar todas, nos pusimos manos a la obra. No os podéis imaginar el cotorreo en español que teníamos montado :)

   When everybody arrived we got to work. You don't want to know how loud a Spanish talking group of crafty ladies can be :)

   Begoña, Patricia, Claudia, Ana María, Servane, Aina, Cris, muchísimas gracias a todas por venir! Caru y yo estamos encantadas. La verdad es que yo lo pasé genial y ya estoy pensando en nuestra próxima quedada.

   Y muchas gracias también a mi ayudante por las fotos que nos hizo durante el taller y por ayudarme a prepararlo todo :-*

Los Reyes Magos / The Three Kings

    Una de las tradiciones que más me gusta es el Día de Reyes. De pequeña el Día de Reyes era el mejor día del año en casa. No me pierdo la Cabalgata ningún año y me encanta ver la ilusión de los niños y no tan niños ese día.
    ¿Recordáis la carta que escribí a Sus Majestades el año pasado? Pues este año tenemos a los mismísimos Reyes Magos aquí en el blog :)

    One of my favorite days and Spanish traditions is January 6th, the day of the Three Kings. When I was a little girl it was the best day of the year at home. We never ever miss the "Cabalgata" or Epiphany Parade, where Caspar, Balthasar and Melchior travel through the streets of cities and villages in Spain throwing sweets to the assembled crowds of children and adults. I love to see the excitement of the children that day.
    Do you remember the letter that I wrote last year to Their Majesties? Well, this year we have the very Three Wise Men here on the blog.

    Después de varias pruebas conseguí hacer estos patrones. Están basados en el patrón de Papá Noel que os enseñé el año pasado. Estoy muy orgullosa por haber sido capaz de modificar un patrón de ganchillo por primera vez. :) ¿Qué os parecen?

    After a few attemps I got to create the patterns. They are based on the pattern of Santa that I talked to you about last year. I am very proud of it as it is the very first time that I get to modify a crochet pattern and create a new pattern by myself. :) What do you think?

    Pues nada, hoy ya sabéis, a limpiar los zapatos y luego hay que irse a la cama prontito para que los Reyes puedan hacer su trabajo. No os olvidéis de dejar un poco de roscón para Sus Majestades y un poco de agua para los camellos. ;)

    So before going to bed, children leave their shoes in a visible spot in the house or out on the balcony. They should not forget to leave a piece of "Roscón" (a traditional large-donut-shaped cake with candied fruit on top) for Their Majesties and some water for their camels ;)

Manteles individuales navideños / Christmas placemats

    He estado muy hacendosa últimamente. Ya os digo que en Navidad se me ocurren mil proyectos que hacer, para decorar, para regalar... ¡Cómo me gusta coser con telas navideñas!

    I have been busy lately, making a lot of Christmas projects, for decorating and to give as gifts mainly. Oh, how I love sewing with Christmas fabrics!

    Como además me gusta poner la mesa un poco especial estos días, se me ocurrió hacer estos manteles individuales tan navideños. En realidad no son para mí, son para un regalo, pero espero que a su destinataria le guste poner la mesa bonita tanto como a mí.

    I like to set the table for everyday's dinner with a Christmas look this time of the year and I thought of making these Christmas placemats. I am giving them as a gift, actually, but I hope their recipient likes to "decorate" the table everyday as much as I do.



    He hecho dos y son reversibles. Una de las caras es lisa y lleva esta tela roja que tanto me gusta y que queda tan elegante.

    I made two and they are reversible. For the one side I used this red fabric that I like so much and that looks so elegant.

    Y la otra cara es más informal con muchas telas y colores. También me gusta :)

    And this is the other side, more casual with a lot of fabrics and colors. I like it too :)

Decoración navideña / Decorating for Christmas

    ¿Cómo lleváis la decoración navideña? Me imagino que estas alturas quien más y quien menos habrá puesto alguna cosita por casa. Por si os faltan ideas o si os apetece decorar con cosas hechas a mano, hoy os traigo un tutorial muy sencillito para hacer estos bastidores tan navideños ellos.

    How is your Christmas decorating doing? I guess you all have your home all beautifully decorated by now. Just in case you run out of ideas or you feel like you want to make some handmade decorating, I brought you today a very easy tutorial to make these beautiful hoops.  

    Material:

• trozos de telas navideñas o lisas, de aproximadamente 13 x 13 cm.
• bastidores pequeños. Los míos son de 11 cm de diámetro.
• cinta.
• figuras hechas a ganchillo. También podéis utilizar fieltro u otro material que os apetezca.
• hilo y tijeras.

    We need:

• fabric squares, aprox. 13 cm x 13 cm (5 x 5 inches). I used some Christmas fabrics and linen.
• Small hoops. Mine were aprox. 11 cm (4.5 inches) but you can use any size you want.
•  ribbon.
• crochet motifs. You can also use also felt or any other material that you like.
• thread and scissors.

    Comenzamos. ¿Todo listo?

    Let's start. Are you ready?

Instrucciones / Step by step

   Colocamos las telas en los bastidores, procurando que no queden arrugas y estén bien tirantes. Si tenéis alguna cinta que os guste podéis colocarla también para dar un toque de color. No hace falta que la cosáis a la tela, el bastidor la sujetará.

    Place the fabric in the hoop and pull taught. If you have some ribbon that you like you can use it too. You don't need to sew the ribbon to the fabric, the hoop will hold it.

    Cosemos las figuras de ganchillo a la tela. ¿Recordáis estos Papá Noel tan graciosos y las estrellas de hielo del año pasado?

    Sew the crochet motifs to the fabric/linen. Do you remember these sweet Santa and snowflakes that I did last year?

    Por la parte de atrás podemos cortar la tela casi al borde del bastidor y pegar lo que sobre con pegamento al marco del bastidor. O podéis hacer como yo y coser la tela que nos sobra por detrás, tratando de esconderla para que no se vea por delante.

   De esta forma podéis volver a usar los bastidores para otras telas en otro momento. Tiene la desventaja de que los bastidores no quedan tan finitos, y no quedarán tan pegados a la pared al colgarlos, eso sí.

    On the wrong side, you can glue the fabric to the frame and trim it to the edge of the hoop. Or you can do as I did and just "hide" the fabric inside the hoop by joining the edges tightly with thread. This way you can use the hoops again for another project. However with this method, the hoops are a little bit "bulky", specially if you want them to hang on the wall.

    Los colgamos de la pared con hilo, cinta o lo que queráis. Yo he usado hilo transparente. Los podéis colgar también en la ventana o en el árbol de Navidad. Seguro que quedan monísimos.

    Hang them on the wall, using thread or ribbon. I used transparent thread. Or just try decorating a window or the Christmas tree with them.
