Happy Sunday friends!

I am sharing today two Christmas cards which I created 

while giving a Sizzix demo at Dhondt Hobby Products 

Open Days in Desselgem, Belgium.

For the base of the first card I used the Tickets framelits dies to create a double card.

After die cutting the Tattered Poinsettias I embossed them by using

 the Springtime Background embossing Folder. 

Then I used ink to distress (more to pop up) the embossed parts.

For the back of the card I used once again the three first die cut 

  and then embossed Tattered Poinsettias.

For the centers of the Tattered Poinsettia I used the stars which 

were leftover from the die cut  Christmas Stockings.

Added some Stickles as a final touch.

The  Christmas Stockings were die cut from self-adhesive red foam.

For the second card I die cut the decorative frames from

white cardstock and glitter cardstock.

A Quick Christmas Tag

Hi Sizzix fans!

Have you started working on your Christmas cards yet? I usually have to make quite a lot of them each year, so I figured I would better start on time this year. Since I have to make about 40 Christmas cards, it's important for me that it doesn't take me too much time to work on one card. That's exactly why I love Sizzix Christmas dies so much. They allow me to make a Christmas card or tag in less than an hour. Today I will show a quick Christmas tag that I made in only 50 minutes.

The tag itself was cut out of cardstock with the Tim Holtz Bigz Die Tag & Bookplates. After that, I used the beautiful Thinlits Die Set Holiday Knit to cut out two decorative borders, which I attached on the bottom and at the top of my tag. 

For my sentiment, I used the beautiful Thinlits Die Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. Using a large die such as this one makes it really easy to whip up a card or tag rather quickly, because this die covers a large part of my tag already. As I wanted to add a little detail as well, I cut out two tiny stars with the Thinlits Die Set Festive Scribbles and added them on the left and right side of the sentiment. 

Finally, I added two reindeers as well. They are actually the left-overs of a border that I cut out with the Thinlits Die Set Holiday Knit. Never throw away your left-overs, because they could always come in handy on another project :)

Hoi Sizzix fans!

Zijn jullie al begonnen met het maken van kerstkaarten? Ik moet er vaak aardig wat maken, dus besloot ik dit jaar op tijd te begonnen. Aangezien ik ongeveer 40 kerstkaarten moet maken, vind ik het fijn als ik niet al te veel tijd aan een kaartje hoef te besteden. Juist daarom werk ik graag met de mooie kerststansen van Sizzix als ik kerstkaarten maak. Daarmee lukt het me vaak om een kerstkaart of tag te maken in minder dan een uur tijd. Vandaag laat ik bijvoorbeeld een tag zien die ik in ongeveer 50 minuten heb gemaakt.

De tag zelf is uit cardstock gestanst met de Tim Holtz Bigz Die Tag & Bookplates. Daarna heb ik de mooie Thinlits Die Set Holiday Knit gebruikt om twee decoratieve randjes uit te stansen, die ik bovenaan en onderaan op mijn tag heb geplakt. 

Voor de tag heb ik de Thinlits Die Merry Christmas & Happy New Year gebruikt. Als je een grote stans als deze gebruikt ben je ook relatief snel klaar met een kaart, omdat hij al een groot deel van je kaart vult. Omdat ik ook wat kleine details wilde toevoegen heb ik twee sterren uitgestanst met de . Thinlits Die Set Festive Scribbles en heb ik deze links en rechts van de tekst opgeplakt.

Ten slotte heb ik nog twee rendiertjes aan mijn tag toegevoegd. Dit zijn eigenlijk de restjes van een randje dat ik heb uitgestanst met de Thinlits Die Set Holiday Knit. Gooi dus nooit de restjes van je stansen weg, want je weet nooit wanneer die nog van pas komen :)

Winged Tag by Romy

Hello Sizzix fans!

Sometimes when I see a new Sizzix die, I immediately know how I want to use it. That's exactly what happened when I saw the beautiful Bigz Angel Wings die. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to use it to make a winged tag. Of course I also used some other beautiful Sizzix dies to embellish my tag.

My tag was made with the amazing Movers & Shapers Tag & Bookplates Die. I cut out the tag twice from two different sheets of paper and cut off the edges of the pink tag, so that I could attach the tags on top of each other and a small black border would be visible. 

I used the Bigz Die Wings, Angel to cut out two wings from black paper and attached them on the left and right side of the tag, to make my tag look like it is winged. 

The main element on my tag is a layered butterfly, which consists of three different butterflies. I cut out the two largest butterflies with dies from the Big Shot Plus Starter Kit. The smallest butterfly was cut out with the Paper Punch Butterfly Large. I also punched an extra butterfly, which I attached above the layered butterfly. 

I finished off my tag with a lovely heart with branches, which was cut out with a die from the Thinlits Die Set Phrase Thank You with Hearts. I added a pearl in the middle of the heart for a more elegant look.

Soms zie ik een nieuwe Sizzix stans en weet ik eigenlijk direct hoe ik die wil gaan gebruiken. Dat is precies wat er gebeurde toen ik de mooie Bigz Angel Wings stans zag. Ik wist dat ik die stans wilde gebruiken om een 'gevleugelde' tag mee te maken. Naast deze stans heb ik ook nog een paar andere Sizzix stansen gebruikt om mijn tag verder te versieren.

Mijn tag is gemaakt met mijn favoriete Movers & Shapers Tag & Bookplates Die. lIk heb de tag twee keer uitgestanst uit verschillende vellen papier en heb de randjes van de roze tag weggesneden, zodat er een randje van de zwarte tag zichtbaar zou blijven als ik ze op elkaar plakte. 

Ik gebruikte de Bigz Die Wings, Angel om twee vleugels uit zwart papier te stansen en heb deze links en rechts op de tag geplakt. 

Het centrale element op mijn tag is een gelaagde vlinder, die is gemaakt van drie verschillende vlinders. Ik heb de twee grootste vlinders uitgestanst met stansen uit de Big Shot Plus Starter Kit. De kleinste vlinder is geponst met de Paper Punch Butterfly Large. Ik heb daarnaast nog een extra vlinder uitgeponst, die ik boven de gelaagde vlinder heb geplakt.  

Om mijn tag af te maken heb ik nog een hartje met takken toegevoegd, die is uitgestanst met een stans uit de Thinlits Die Set Phrase Thank You with Hearts. Ik heb een parel op het hartje geplakt om het er iets eleganter uit te laten zien.

In these summer days, I'm enjoying a lot to fill and empty jars, especially the glass ones.

I love decorating them and give a touch of originality, using paper, wires and colours.

So even a messy person like me can find an order nice to see ... and to create!

The decorations on glass jars are also ideas for a wedding, as wedding favor, place cards or small gifts.

Ciao crafter!

In questi primi giorni d'estate mi diverto molto a riempire e svuotare barattoli, specialmente quelli di vetro.

Amo decorarli e dargli un tocco di originalità, usando carta, fili e colori.

Così anche una disordinata come me riesce a trovare un ordine bello da vedere..e da creare!

Le decorazioni sui barattoli di vetro sono anche idee per un matrimonio, come bomboniera, segnaposto o piccolo regalo.

A Soft and Sweet Tag

Hi and welcome on the Sizzix blog!

Today I was in the mood for making a tag again. I think tags are really fun to make and every once in a while I just have to create some of them. 

The tag that I would like to show you today features a soft and sweet colour palette and would be perfect to give to the (grand)parents of a newborn baby. 

For the tag itself I used the Tim Holtz Alternations 'Tag & Bookplates' die. I attached a piece of yellow polka dot paper onto a piece of white cardstock and then cut out a tag from both papers.

On top of the tag I added two smaller rectangles. I also cut out a small scalloped border from blue paper using one of the dies included in the Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit. I attached this border at the top of the blue rectangle on my tag. 

After that, I cut out several hearts using both the beautiful 'Bigz Heartfelt' die and the 'Thank You Phrase' Thinlits dies. 

In the center of my card I created a cluster of chipboard embellishments. On the left and right side of this cluster I added two scalloped circles. They were cut out with one of the dies from the beautiful Thinlits 'Floral Wreath' set. I cut out the tiny flowers with dies included in this set as well. 

Finally, I added the title 'Hello' from the Thinlits 'Happiness Phrases' set at the bottom of my card. I replaced the letter 'O' by a heart that was cut out with the Heartfelt die for a playful touch.

Hoi en welkom op het Sizzix blog!

Vandaag had ik zin om een tag te maken. Ik vind tags zo leuk om te maken en moet er eens in de zoveel tijd gewoon echt een maken.

De tag die ik vandaag wil laten zien is zacht en lief van kleur en is bedoeld om weg te geven aan de nieuwbakken (groot)ouders van een baby'tje.

Voor de tag zelf heb ik de Tim Holtz Alternations 'Tag & Bookplates' die gebruikt. Ik heb eerst een stuk geel papier op wit cardstock geplakt en vervolgens uit deze dubbele laag een tag gestanst.

Op de tag heb ik twee iets kleinere rechthoeken geplakt. Ook heb ik een geschulpte rand uitgesneden uit blauw papier met één van de stansen uit de Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit. Ik heb deze rand bovenaan bij de blauwe rechthoek geplakt.

Daarna heb ik een aantal hartjes uitgestanst met de mooie 'Bigz Heartfelt' die en de 'Thank You Phrase' Thinlits dies. 

In het midden van de tag heb ik een cluster van chipboard figuren gevormd Links en rechts van het cluster plakte ik twee uitgestanste cirkels. Deze heb ik gestanst met de mooie Thinlits 'Floral Wreath' set. Ook de kleine bloemetjes zijn uitgestanst met stansen uit deze set.

Tenslotte heb ik nog de titel 'Hello' toegevoegd, die is uitgestanst met de Thinlits 'Happiness Phrases' set. Hierbij heb ik de letter 'O' vervangen door een hartje uit de Heartfelt stans als speels detail.

Embroidered Gift Tags

I adore gift wrapping! You can't beat pretty ribbons, tags and confetti!

I thought I'd share this simple embroidered gift tag as an idea you can customise for any pattern. You can even make monogram versions.

Supplies used:

• Card stock
• Embroidery thread
• Embroidery needle
• Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit
• Tag die from starter kit
• We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy piercer
• Double sided sticky tape

I cut out the tags on kraft card stock so the stitching would really stand out in pastel colours. 

Using a piercer I made a pattern to stitch - you could easily mark your own with a pencil and awl.

Using all six strands of thread, I stitched the patterns using a simple backstitch. 

Using double sided sticky tape, I fixed another die cut tag to the back to cover the back of the stitching.

Add a contrasting ribbon, gift box and confetti and you've got yourself a custom handmade gift tag!

I love how simple this idea is and it uses one of my favourite crafts; stitching onto card or paper!

Sunny, Interactive Card

Hi Sizzix fans!

I hope you have had a wonderful Easter.

Today I would like to show you an interactive card. 

On this sunny day I felt like showing you a card with a summery feel to it.

My card was made by die-cutting a postage stamp frame with the 'Alternations Postage Stamp Frame' die. I attached the postage stamp frame onto a kraft cardstock card and slightly inked the edges. 

The interactive element in my card consists of a tag within a semi-transparent envelope. The tag was made with one of the tags from the 'Framelits Tags Collection' dies. You can actually pull it out of the envelope and write a secret message to the recipient of the card on the backside of it. 

I also cut out the word 'Sunshine' from white cardstock to add as a sentiment on my card. This title was cut out with the beautiful 'Happiness Phrases' dies.

Ik hoop dat jullie een fijne Pasen hebben gehad.

Vandaag wil ik jullie een interactieve kaart laten zien.

Op deze zonnige dag leek het me leuk om een echt zomers kaartje te plaatsen.

Mijn kaart is gemaakt met de postzegelvorm uit de 'Alternations Postage Stamp Frame' stans. Ik heb de postzegelvorm op kraft cardstock geplakt en de randjes aangezet met inkt.

Het interactieve element op mijn kaart bestaat uit een tag in een semi-transparant envelopje. De tag is uitgestanst met één van de tags uit de 'Framelits Tags Collection' stansen. Je kunt de tag uit het envelopje trekken en eventueel een geheim berichtje voor de ontvanger op de achterkant schrijven.

Ik heb ook het woord 'Sunshine' uit wit cardstock gestanst. dat deed ik met de mooie 'Happiness Phrases' stansen.

Spring Flowers on a Tag

Spring is finally in the air and the sun is shining again in the Netherlands. The nice weather brought me in the mood to create something colourful and bright with flowers and butterflies. 

I have been having the beautiful Flower Layers die for a while, but haven't had the chance to use it yet. I had a wonderful time finally putting them to good use by making this spring-themed tag. 

The base of my tag was made with the Tags & Bookplates die from the Alternations series. I cut out the tag from kraft cardstock and patterned paper and layered two other sheets of paper on top of it. My center on the tag consists of a frame sticker and a butterfly from chipboard. I also made two 3D flowers to further embellish my tag.

The flowers are made by die-cutting flowers from patterned paper with two dies. I used the smallest flower from the ' ' die and also used the small flower from the Bigz Petal Power die to cut out four flowers. I layered them on top of each other with foamtape and added a button to their centers. 

I further embellished my tag with several small hearts, which were cut out with the Heartfelt die.

Het is eindelijk lente en de zon schijnt weer. Het mooie weer zorgde ervoor dat ik zin had om iets kleurrijks en vrolijks te maken met bloemen en vlinders.

Ik heb de mooie Flower Layers & Leaves stans al een tijdje liggen, maar had nog niet eerder de mogelijkheid om hem te gebruiken. Dat was tot vorige week. Ik heb met veel plezier met deze stansen gewerkt om een tag met een echt lentegevoel te maken.

De basis voor mijn tag is gemaakt met de Tags & Bookplates stans uit de Alternations serie.Ik heb de tag uitgestanst uit kraft cardstock en dessinpapier en heb er laagjes uit twee andere vellen papier opgestapeld. Het midden van mijn tag bestaat uit een frame sticker en een vlinder van chipboard. Ook heb ik twee 3D bloemen gemaakt om mijn tag verder te versieren.

De bloemen zijn gemaakt door bloemen uit patroonpapier te stansen met twee verschillende stansen. Ik heb de kleinste stans gebruikt uit de Flower Layers & Leaves stans en de kleine bloem van de Bigz Petal Power stans. Ik heb de bloemen op elkaar gestapeld met foamtape en een knoopje in hun roosje geplakt. Verder heb ik de tag versierd met een aantal hartjes, die zijn uitgestanst met de Heartfelt stans.

Vintage Tag

Welcome on the Sizzix blog today!

It is probably not a secret anymore that I am a huge fan of the Tag & Bookplates die from Sizzix. I initially wanted to create a lay-out for today, but simply couldn’t resist to make something with this beautiful tag die again. So today I can show you another tag that I made.

I added several layers of paper on top of the tag base. I used the beautiful ‘Mixed Media’ die set to cut some small dots out of the black paper.

I also wanted to have a sentiment in an elegant script on my card and the ‘Happiness Phrases’ set from the Craft Asylum series was just perfect for that. I cut out the sentiment from black paper and added it above the embellishment cluster that I made.

I finished off my card by adding two tiny hearts, which were cut out with another favourite die of mine: the Heartfelt die.

Welkom op het Sizzix blog vandaag!

Het is waarschijnlijk geen verrassing meer dat ik groot fan ben van de Tag & Bookplates die van Sizzix. Ik wilde eerst een lay-out maken voor de blogpost van vandaag, maar kon het niet laten om de mooie tag stans nog een keer te gebruiken. Dus vandaag heb ik toch weer een nieuwe tag te laten zien.

Op de tag heb ik met verschillende lagen papier gewerkt. Ik gebruikte de mooie ‘Mixed Media’ stansset om de kleine stippen uit het zwarte papier te stansen.

Ik wilde ook graag een titel in een elegant handschrift op mijn kaart verwerken en daar was de ‘Happiness Phrases’ set uit de Craft Asylum serie perfect voor. Ik heb de titel uit zwart papier gestanst en bovenaan op de tag opgeplakt.

Als finishing touch voegde ik twee kleine hartjes toe, die zijn uitgestanst met een andere favoriete stans: de Heartfelt stans.
