Paper Button Embellishments

Hi Everyone! this is Anna.

I love using my Bigshot and any die, but my Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Sew Cute (by Prima Marketing Inc.) is among my favourite die. Couldn't wait to try my machine at making paper buttons.

Ciao! Sono Anna e vorrei condividere con voi alcuni lavori.

Chi mi segue già da un po' sa che mi piace molto usare la mia Bigshot e le fustelle Sizzix, ma la Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die - Sew Cute (by Prima Marketing Inc.) è tra le mie preferite del momento. Non vedevo l'ora di fare un po' di bottoni di carta per abbellire i miei lavori.

Nelle foto sopra, date un'occhiata ad alcuni progettini che ho fatto con questa simpatica fustella!

Ho realizzato innanzitutto una card di compleanno. Sono partita da una base di cartoncino bianco, dove ho spruzzato qualche goccia di colore. Ho poi incollato mezzo centrino di carta da pasticceria e un centrino tagliato con la fustella Sizzlits Vintage Doily. Qualche striscia di carta fantasia, la striscia con il "sentiment", infine i bottoni di carta. Uno l'ho incollato sopra ad un fiore di stoffa fustellato. Per dare rilievo ho incollato i bottoni di carta con scotch biadesivo spessorato... così sembrano quasi veri!

Questa è solo una delle possibilità per usare i bottoni di carta. Un'altra idea divertente e colorata e quella di infilare i bottoni in un po' di spago e avvolgerlo intorno ad un pacchetto regalo! Molto semplice, no?!

Big Shot Starter kit: Paper Garlands

Hi Everyone!

this is Anna. I wanted to share an easy tutorial with you! Even today I took out my smaller pieces of patterned papers and my Sizzix dies of the new Big Shot Starter kit.
This project is super quick and easy to make! It is also very inexpensive and adds the perfect handmade touch during the parties or spruce up a corner of room.

Wrap a garland around gift to brighten someone’s day... Sometimes the way an ordinary gift is presented, makes it extraordinary!

Items used:

658300 Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit
scrap of: cardstocks, patterned papers, glitter papers, old book pages, felt
sewing machine, thread, scissors

1- Select the papers or cardstocks you would like to use. Make sure you use double sided papers since both sides will be showing.
2- Cut out hearts, butterflies, circles, flowers... as many or as little as you would like depending on the lenght you want your garland to be.
3- Use a sewing machine to stitch the shapes together and create your garlands. Simply start by placing the first piece under the presser foot, put the needle in the down position and start stitching. Continue stitching, allowing the machine to stitch a few stitches between each new shape. You can space them out as close or far apart as you like.
4- You can take a little care by adding some dimensional items to the shapes to give your garland that extra touch of detail. Once you get to the end let the machine run again for some cm. You can leave the thread hanging off if you like.

The fun thing about creating your own is that you can customize them to match your color scheme!

Ecco un nuovo appuntamento con Anna. Oggi volevo condividere con voi un tutorial facile facile!
Anche questa volta ho tirato fuori i miei piccoli avanzi di carte e le fustelle del nuovo Big Shot Starter kit, che offrono davvero tante possibilità di utilizzo.
Questo progetto è super veloce e facile da fare! E' anche molto economico e aggiunge il giusto tocco allegro e personale alle vostre feste o può essere utile per abbellire un angolo della casa.

Un'altra idea di utilizzo è quella di avvolgere una ghirlanda intorno ad un pacchetto regalo, come vedete nelle foto sopra. A volte il modo in cui un regalo ordinario viene presentato, lo rende straordinario!

macchina da cucire, filo, forbici...

1 - Selezionare le carte o cartoncini che si desidera utilizzare. Assicurarsi di utilizzare carte double face, poiché  potrebbero essere visibili entrambi i lati.
2 - Tagliare cuori, farfalle, cerchi, fiori... tanti o pochi, secondo quello che si desidera fare, a seconda della lunghezza che si desidera raggiungere.
3 - Usare la macchina da cucire per unire insieme le forme e creare così la ghirlanda. Basta iniziare posizionando il primo pezzo sotto il piedino, mettere l'ago in posizione abbassata e iniziare a cucire. Continuare cuciture, facendo un paio di punti tra una forma e l'altra. Si può lasciare più o meno spazio, secondo i propri gusti.
4 - Si può sovrapporre alcuni elementi, anche di feltro, per dare un effetto tridimensionale che darà alla vostra ghirlanda quel tocco in più. Una volta arrivati alla fine cucire ancora qualche punto e tagliare il filo.

Facile no? La cosa più bella e divertente è che si possono creare tante diverse ghirlande, personalizzandole ogni volta in modo diverso: basta variare gli abbinamenti di forme e colori, così come la lunghezza e la distanza tra una forma e l'altra!

Shabby Chic cards "light" with Janna Werner.

Hello there, this is Janna with two Shabby Chic cards. Well, actually you could say it is a Shabby Chic "light" style, have a look by yourself :)

I love Shabby Chic, but I also love minimalism - it is always a challenge to create a card with scraps and to not add too many elements. If you have a close look you will see, that I used the same supplies on both cards, but I also used scraps. The heart on this card was cut with the Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves. I used the negative on the other card. Same with the circles that I cut with the Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Wrappers, Circle, you´ll find them on both cards.

I arranged the elements slightly different on both cards and used the honeycomb embossing die on one, the bubble wrap embossing die on the other card, both belong to the Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders - Bubble & Honey Comb set. Instead of embossing the paper, I used vellum, great effect!

You know, I love my sewing machine. It is a super easy way to add the Shabby touch to a project. Furthermore you can adhere the elements without using glue.

Ich liebe Shabby Chic, aber ebenso Minimalismus - es ist immer eine Herausforderung, eine Karte mit Scraps zu gestalten und nicht zu viele Elemente zu hinzuzufügen. Wenn ihr genau hinseht könnt ihr erkennen, dass ich bei beiden Karten die gleichen Materialien verwendet habe. Ich habe ebenfalls Scraps, also Reste, benutzt. Das Herz habe ich mit der Bigz Die - Heart, Stem & Leaves geschnitten. Das Negativ der Form habe ich anschließend für die andere Karten genutzt. Das Gleiche mit den Kreisen, die ich mit der Sizzix Framelits Die Set - Wrappers, Circle zurechtgeschnitten haben, die sind auf beiden Karten drauf.

Ich habe die Elemente auf beiden Karten etwas anders arrangiert und zwei verschiedene Embossing Dies verwendet: Honeycomb auf der einen, Bubble Wrap auf der anderen. Beide Dies gehören zum Sizzix Texture Fades Embossing Folders - Bubble & Honey Comb Set. Anstatt das Papier zu embossen, habe ich Vellum genommen, das ergibt einen tollen Effekt.

Ihr wisst, dass ich meine Nähmaschine liebe. Es ist super einfach mit ein paar Stichen einen Shabby Touch zu kreieren. Außerdem muss man nicht soviel Kleber verwenden, wenn man auf diese Weise die Papiere verbindet.
