Sparkle & Shine Christmas cards

Hi Everyone! This is Anna.
I cannot believe we have reached October already! Maybe it isn’t such a strange idea to be thinking about Christmas cards right now ;)
Here are two cards that I created using some Thinlits dies from Winter Wonderland collection by Craft Asylum.
When I make Christmas cards, I tend to like to use non-traditional Christmas colors…

For this card, I started with my pink base, that I created with spray ink.
I die cut the deer from gold glitter paper. I added the sentiment from the same collection. I die cut "joy" from card and then I glued above vellum banner.
Isn't the deer so cute?

For this card, I used the new Christmas trees dies. I love the little trees in this set! The sentiment is from the same collection. I die cut it from white paper and glue above vellum, to create the feeling of a chilly card.
I added tiny stars and rhinestone.

Ciao a tutti!

Ho aggiunto quindi qualche stellina e uno strass.

Buon week end!
Al prossimo Venerdì!

Mini-album in a box

Hi Sizzix friends!

This is my first project as a part of the creative team. I show you the gift that I have prepared for my husband for Valentine’s day and, of course,  for me too.

This box die is perfect for keeping a small mini-album with the photos of a special family trip we enjoyed together.

We travelled to the mountains, where we found by surprise a snowy landscape. So this snowflake die was perfect for decorating the box as well as some of the album pages.

I have stamped the message on the box using the same label die that I have also used on the inside, which ensures that the box and the mini-album follow the same decorative line.

When we open the box the mini-album appears. The mini-album size is  2 ½” x 3 ½”. We can also see the die-cutting message using one of the new Craft Asylum dies.

And this is the mini-album:

For the cover I have also used  the scribbles dies designed by Tim Holtz.  I love these dies !!!

I have made this accordion structure using the same box die set, the only thing to keep in mind is making  the folds 1/8” smaller than the card die.

All the decorations are on the left side and all the photos on the right side.

For the left sides I have used the snowflakes embossing folder with the same cardstock colour as the structure (dark blue). The double tags are perfect for the journals.

The colours I used for this project  are dark blue, dark grey and white. I also used winter scrapbooking papers.

A collage picture with some of the details:

I hope you have enjoyed this mini-album idea. Thanks for your visit !

I wish you a creative and happy Friday !

----------

Home Decor – New Year’s Wreath

Happy Friday everyone,
I hope you spent a happy Christmas and received many gifts.
Today in Italy we celebrate St. Stephen, but I have already carried out a decoration for New Year!
Well, it's almost here, a new year, and what better way to start the celebration than with this wreath.

I made this small wreath to hang on a door using the Sizzix Bigz L Die - Wreath, Banner, Holly & Poinsettia (659997).
It was created using white and gold with just a tiny touch of red.
In the middle I added a word that is full of sparkle and reads the greeting of New Year. I used the Sizzix Originals Die - Phrase, Hello #2 (659956).

Watch how it is How To Make a Wreath, with step by step instructions, in my video:

In no time at all you will have a decoration ready to hang.
Do you do any special decorating for New Year’s?
Thanks for stopping by and I wish each of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Per le amiche italiane! :)
Buon venerdì a tutti,

Wreath of Snowflakes

I love to make and hang wreaths for all seasons and for this week I've created a wreath of snowflakes. It can be hung now at Christmas time but that can also stay up well into the new year because it is more wintery than Christmassy.
I needed a hoop to work as base for my wreath and I had a metal hoop in my stash that I chose to use. You could cut one out in cardstock if you wanted to create a similar wreath. Using Sizzix Bigz Die - Snowflakes #3 makes this project a breeze because you can die cut multiple snowflakes in one go. For my wreath I went with three different versions of the same snowflake: 5 in silver foil, a lot in white cardstock and a little fewer made from old book pages.
Now it was just a question of using the hot glue gun to attach the various snowflakes to the metal hoop. I started with a layer of white snowflakes, then a layer of the book page snowflakes and my final layer is a combination of white and silver snowflakes.

I wanted to make sure that my wreath had some dimension and I achieved this by adhering some of the flakes using foam adhesive but I also discovered that I could fold up the ends of some of the snowflakes and thereby get more dimension. I did this to some of the white snowflakes as well as all of the silver ones.

My final step was to tie a large white bow and adhere it using the hot glue gun. I made sure that there weren't any silver flakes under the bow. I also added some silver tread behind the bow so I'll be able to hang the wreath.

Ready for winter ... with Lilith

The cold has finally found its way to Belgium and we even have had our first snow. I am not a huge fan probably because I grew up in South Africa and the warm temperatures have been graved into my body but my little one LOVES it. We he saw the first flakes he put his winter coat on and was ready to play outside. He loves his warm hood and I think he looks so cute.

The patterned papers I picked aren't winter themed so to add that hint of winter I cut out snowflakes using the Basic Grey snowflake die. I added a bit of glitter to them for the extra sparkle.

Supplies:
Sizzix Bigz Die - Snowflakes #3   , Big Shot Starter Kit,  Other: Studio Calico kits.

Alma tumler i sneen

I had a beautiful picture of Alma in the snow and I wanted to make a wintery scrapbook page for that photo so I went with my favourite winter colour scheme: blues, red and white.

The page is fairly simple but that is the way I like my pages: I cut a piece of pattern paper to work as a frame for the photo and then I added various embellishments and a title around the photo.

I die cut the largest of the snowflakes from Sizzix Framelits Die Set 3PK - Snowflakes and divided it in two adding one part to the upper left corner of the photo and the other part to the lower right corner of the photo.

Besided from the snowflake I die cut multiple tags using the Sizzix Framelits Die Set 12PK - Tags, Sentiments, stamped them using various winter themed stamps and hang them from baker's twine wrapped around the entire layout a few times.

Supply list:
Sizzix Big Shot Starter Kit (Powder Blue & Teal)
Sizzix Accessory - Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies
Sizzix Framelits Die Set 12PK - Tags, Sentiments
Cardstock
Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Baker's twine
Sequins
Flock: Doodlebug
Stickers: LilyBee & American Crafts
Stamps: Papertrey Ink & Wplus9
Ink: Papertrey Ink & VersaFine

---o---

Happy Winter Birthday

Hi Sizzix fans! It's  Anna posting today.
Even during the months of December and January, we have birthdays. Mine is in August, I never had a party during school days because everybody is on summer vacation at that time. December and January are pretty much ruled by holiday celebrations, so don’t forget the birthdays in these months!
Today I shown a fun winter birthday card. For my niece I thought it would be fun to combine a winter theme with a birthday theme using Snowman and Banner. I created also two half window, that are the fun shaker boxes!

Flag_of_Italy Per le amiche italiane! :)

Materiali:

cartoncino: bianco, lilla, azzurro, turchese, kraft
carte scrapbooking fantasia
cartone
ritagli di feltro, tessuto
foglio di acetato
washi tape
mini paillettes
strass
fiore (Prima)
pennarello nero
