Is it a boy or a girl?

Hey everyone,
I hope you guys had a nice week? We are moving into a new home in the next few weeks and I was cleaning up my room, when some of the pink little elephants got into my hands. Do you remember my elephant parade part 1 & part 2? :)

I think you know that feeling... You have to clean up a bit and to sort out all of your bits & pieces, but  when there is a chance to craft, you craft. Right? :) With the elephant duo I die cutted some dark blue elephants, for baby cards. You can never know, when you need one! ;)

To get a little more depth on this cards, I die cutted the thought bubbles and stamped the sentiments on them, before I used 3D adhesive tape. Do you like them? I love all the gold glitter dots. :)

And here is the supplies you will need to make cards like these:
Sizzix Big Shot Plus Starter Kit (White & Gray) #660515
Sizzix Accessory - Standard Magnetic Platform for Wafer-Thin Dies #656499
Sizzix Accessory - Cutting Pads, Standard, 1 Pair (Mint) #660522

Elephant Parade - Part 2/2

Hey everyone,
do you remember my project from last week? Yes, this is the second part of it. I love the elephants! That´s a fact. ;) I am always looking for pretty gift wrapping ideas, especially things that I can make by myself. When I saw the elephant dies I had the idea to make my own garland for birthday gifts, maybe for a little baby girl or a little girl who loves pink. :)

I die cutted a lot of circles in a light pink and a cardstock with a floral pattern. For the elephants I choose a white and a pink cardstock. Believe me, the pink elephants are a blast! :) Need to make a project with them very soon. :)

Of course I needed a sparkling detail on my gift-wrapping-garland, so I took some sequins in white and gold to sew them onto the circles. :)

List of Supplies:

Do you like it? I think I have to make some more… Sewing with paper is so much fun! Can´t wait to wrap it around a beautiful gift. :)

Have a nice weekend, xo Julia

Baby Shower favours

Hi Sizzix friends!

Today I have prepared a couple of little boxes filled with sweets which are perfect for a Baby Shower as a party favours. Let me show you the boxes:

As you can see, I have used a combination of two colours which complement one another. I have alternated the colours in different details of the boxes to create a beautiful set.

Here are the materials you need to die-cut:

Blue, kraft and white cardstock, scrapbooking papers, the oval cards Framelits, the bodysuit Thinlit, the candy hearts embossing folder and the box and card die.

And here are the steps to create this cute set!

Die-cut the boxes and two cards for each box, one for the cover
and the other to go inside the box.

Draw a line using a white gel pen before embossing the top card.

Die-cut the bodysuits and make your own combination of colours and patterns and
glue the pieces on the cover of the box.

 And now the sweets bag:.

I have prepared a sweets bag to go inside the box. I have used the second card
I’ve die-cut as a background for the sweets bag.

To close the sweets bag I’ve die-cut these Framelits,

fold it and make two holes using a hole puncher.

Attach the bag to the card using a baker twine. To prevent the bag from moving,
you can use double-sided tape to fix it in place.

More details of this set:

I have used the following Sizzix products:

I hope you have enjoyed this set of boxes to use as a party favour. Thanks for your visit!

Have a creative and happy Friday!

"Hello Baby Girl" By Gerry van Gent

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today I am sharing a cute project that I created for a new-born baby girl.
This time I decided to create something special instead of a traditional card.
I used the Free New Baby Paper Downloads and
I mixed some old and new Sizzix dies.

To create this project I used two different sizes wooden spools
which were my base to attach the die-cut filmstrips.
Filmstrips were die cut from dark brown cardstock and adhered
around the wooden spools. Then I treated a bit with gesso & ink.

I used one of the gorgeous butterfly dies included in the Sizzix Plus Starter Kit.
It was die cut from white cardstock and decorated with a mini paper rose.

Cute little hearts come from the Heart border (Decorative Trim #2).
I cut separately each heart and glued on the styrofoam.

Don't you just love that cute little bird from Free New Baby Paper Downloads?
3

"Hello" phrase was die cut twice - once from white cardstock and
once from the pattern paper.
4

From "Congratulations" phrase I made a banner by
cutting a small triangles at both ends.
I attached to filmstrip with foam squares for more dimension.

My project was adhered on a piece of styrofoam and
then adhered on a wooden tray.

Photo Baby Blocks

It seems like forever since I designed these dies! It was back when my daughter was expecting her first baby. Now that she has had her second one, I have lots of pictures to organize! I decided to make a stack of baby blocks to commemorate the birth of baby Hunter, using the new Blocks/Cubes die from the Cherished collection.

The blocks are super versatile and also a great value because it allows you to cut all three blocks (as seen in the photo) with one pass through the Big Shot- 2.5", 2" and 1.5" (two pieces of matboard make a set of three blocks). The blocks may be used for so many things- you can use them as gift boxes, for storage, as art blocks, for photos or to commemorate special events (like having a new baby in the family!)

To create the blocks, die cut two pieces of matboard. Print photos on your home printer in black and white cropped to squares and printed in sizes to fit on the blocks. You can also use color photos but I did black and white because I thought color might be distracting. Plus I was near the end of my color ink cartridges in my printer!

Apply the photos to the blocks using a glue stick.

Use markers, stamps and inks to decorate the squares of the blocks. (I used my new Clearsnap ColorBox Blends inks for this project- it's a new kind of applicator which helps keep your hands clean while inking! The soft sponge tip allows the ink to get in spaces where traditional ink pads can't. It's also really easy to distress the edges with this new tool). For the squares with photos, I brought a little color in by lightly inking around the edge.

I also used some of my new CraffitiDirect clear stamps designed to match the Cherished dies to decorate the blocks. The mini animals fit great on the smaller blocks.

I used permanent black markers to letter the baby's name and birth date, then colored it in with Copic markers. The Monkey & Lion and Elephant & Giraffe Framelits Sets were also used to decorate the blocks.

After decorating each square, assemble the blocks. Fold over each score line and form into a "U" shape. Hold one in each hand facing each other, rotate one hand 90 degrees and fit blocks together. The blocks will stay together without adhesive but you may want to apply double sided tape to each tab and assemble for a more permanent bond.

And here's the star of the show! Welcome little guy- Mimi loves you...
