Appliqueing Tattered Dies

Hi again, today I wanted to share a project in work I have been doing some time ago. It´s about applique again but this time using some of my favourites Tim Holtz dies,  bird and flowers and leaves.

Sizzix Bigz Die - Tattered Florals

Sizzix Bigz Die - Tattered Leaves

Sizzix Bigz Die - Caged Bird

My first idea was triying to use some different dies that are not especially for quilting and see how they work.
I must to say I loved what I got.
Here they are some pics.

Now I need to finish some quilting and sew all the pieces. Then , I will show you the finished project.

This is a project that I´m wishing to finish because I have been working on it a lot of time so I hope I you can see it soon.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!

Love
Mercedes

Layered home decor

Hello Sizzix fans! Today again my turn to provide you with some inspiration using Sizzix products. This time I made home decor, in the form of a small canvas.

The main decorations of my project are: openwork birdcage and layered bird. I cut them using a Sizzix Bigz Die - Caged Bird from 3mm thick chipboard. I love the Bigz dies, especially for the fact that they give the possibility of cutting in various thick materials.

The cut out chipboard shape can be freely decorated. I painted my chipboard elements white acrylic paint, and then I heat embossed them using light aqua embossing powder (birdcage) and clear holographic  powder (bird). To highlight the delicate nature of my main ornaments, added some fussy cutting flowers and honeycomb motifs which I cut out from kraft paper, using Sizzix Frameworks Die - Honeycomb.

Sizzix supplies used:

My today's project is very simple to recreate and I hope that you take advantage of my idea to create a similar, small home decor or gift.

Thank you for visit us today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Witajcie!

Create & Craft Samples

What a fabulous time I have been having working with all the wonderful new dies in preparation for last Sundays Create & Craft show.  I have enjoyed every second of working with them and today want to share some of the samples I made for the show.

It is really hard to pick a favourite but I did adore working with the 3D Flower, it is one of those dies that you can use time and time again and get so many different results! These flowers were cut from felt and added to a hessian bag.

The Gazania and Plumeria from Susan's Garden are so beautiful and such fun to create.  These would be amazing to use with wedding stationary or decorations.

The Tim Holtz Stencilled Decorative Strip Alphabet was great to work with and a must have for any crafter wanting to add words to their creations. Here I added it to an acetate strip which gave the wording a 3D effect.

And of course, the ultra popular Tim Holtz Caged Bird which is great for so many different occasions and projects.

Well that is all from me.  If you have any questions about any of these designs or the others that I demonstrated on the show please let me know and I will do my best to help.

Until next time ...

Katie

Two projects by Gerry van Gent

Happy Sunday everyone!
Today I have two projects to share with you.

of my daughter I "placed" in her dreams.
657900 Sizzix Big Shot Machine
658449 Sizzix ScoreBoards XL Album, Garden Gate
658530 Sizzix Bigz Die Mariposa
658260 Sizzix Bigz Die Christmas Cardinal
657492 Sizzix Bigz Die Tattered Pinecone

657773 Sizzix Framelits Die Set w/Stamps Butterflies #3
657469 Sizzix Bigz Die Holiday Lamppost

I created the fence by die cutting Garden Gate twice from corrugated cardstock
and pattern paper.  I didn`t use the whole gates but part of them.
Then I distressed with ink and decorated with embellishment.

Behind the photo I adhered Mariposa butterfly.
For the tutorial how I created the butterfly with lace please
refer to one of my older blog posts (Father's Day Tag; 9 June, 2013)

Other Products I used:
Prima Marketing pattern papers
Prima Marketing flowers
Prima/Ingvild Bolme embellishments
Prima/Ingvild Bolme Chalk edgers
Lets Get Beeze MDF wall clock

A Bunch of Flowers

 Good morning!
I have made a card to show you today. I have used the gorgeous bird cage die together with a Bunch of Flowers dies. They are really versatile - you can make fabulous flowers with these dies. The papers are from Maja Design. As a flower center I used some pearls to keep it simple.

And a close-up of the flowers.

Have a great Sunday!

Camilla

God morgon!
A Bunch of Flowers dies.
