Handmade Gift Ideas for Christmas

Hi Everyone! This is Anna.

Handmade gifts are fun, thoughtful and can be very budget friendly! You can create some easy Christmas crafts this holiday season with Sizzix.

Always on the lookout for fun, homemade gift ideas, I sometimes make my cookies in large batches to give away at the holidays.

To make the Jar:
Fill the jar with your homemade cookies. Place the lid on the top of the jar.
Use a cupcake cup to cover the lid and glue.
Cut out a white scallop circle and apply. Create a rosette and add above.
Assemble a red Star, add a twine to hanging.
Cut out a tag from kraft cardstock and apply the sentiment.
Wrap a strip of fabric around the jar lid, add the star, bell and tag, then tie.
 

While I was playing with the Owl die I was tempted to try out a Christmas theme. Just using red, white and green, then adding a hat can make a huge change. So now I also have a Christmas owl to give as present to friend :)

Ciao! Ecco un nuovo appuntamento con Anna.

I regali fatti a mano sono divertenti e possono essere anche più economici e piacevoli di un regalo creato industrialmente, non credete?

Con Sizzix è possibile abbellire o creare diversi pensierini natalizi adatti a questa stagione festosa.

Per Natale, cercando di realizzare simpatiche idee regalo fai da te, a volte decido di fare i biscotti in gran quantità da mettere in vaso, per dare il via alle Feste. Così vi mostro un barattolo decorato con una rossa stella glitter 3D che potrà anche diventare una decorazione da mettere sull'albero di Natale.

Procedimento:

Riempire il vaso con i vostri biscotti. Chiudere il coperchio.

Utilizzare un pirottino da muffin per coprire il coperchio e fissarlo con colla o biadesivo.

Tagliare un cerchio scallop bianco e applicare sopra il pirottino. Creare una coccarda rossa e aggiungerla sopra.

Assemblare una stella creata con cartoncino glitter rosso, inserire un spago per appendere la stella.

Ritagliare un tag da cartoncino kraft e applicare uno sticker con l'augurio.

Avvolgere una striscia di tessuto intorno al coperchio del barattolo, infilare la stella, il campanellino e la tag, quindi legare e chiudere il tutto.

Ecco il vaso pronto per essere regalato!

 

Mentre stavo giocando con la fustella Gufo ero tentata di provare a fare qualcosa di natalizio. Generalmente vedo usare questa fustella in modo molto semplice, ma io preferisco abbellire e trasformare il simpatico animaletto, a seconda della stagione! E' un po' come vestire la Barbie! :D ehehehe

Basta infatti aggiungere un po' di rosso, bianco e verde, sistemare un cappello per avere subito un look adatto alle Feste. Così è presto detto, ora ho anche un gufo natalizio da regalare ad un'amica :)

Pretty Easter egg box

Hi everyone,
Easter is coming soon and today I'm sharing with you how to customize an egg carton!

Items used:

How to make:

1- Take an egg carton. Remove the closure and the cups attached on the lid (if present). Paint the box with acrylic paint.
2- Use Sizzix machine to cut out a little circle from fabric (die 657020) for making the fabric covered button with I Top or other tool.
3- Use the Bigz die (656640) to cut out two flowers from white cardstock and one similar flower with Decorative Strip Die. Start with the smallest and work backwards. Insert the button and the garden wire. Shape the petals.
4- Now decorate the box. Use a piece of patterned paper to cover the box lid.
5- Cut a tag Ornamental (die 656641) and cut away the central part. Adhere the two parts in the center of the lid.
6- Cut two stripes of different papers and apply them in the center. Create a rosette (656931) and glue it to the center of the box lid.  With Framelits Flowers Lovely cut out the little flower. Adhere the flower and the strass. Use some sequins and glue them.
7- Inside box: Use a piece of lilac paper to cover the box lid. Cut out three banners with Framelits. Adhere them to the twine. Insert the twine in the box lid.
8- Print or stamp the Easter greetings. Cut out with Framelits Circles Scallop to create the topper. Insert the flower into an egg groove.
9- Fill each compartment with paper doilies before adding chocolate eggs.

Come sapete, si sta avvicinando la Pasqua, così oggi voglio condividere con voi un progetto per personalizzare una scatola delle uova, un oggetto semplice e facilmente reperibile.

Procedimento:

1 - Prendere una scatola delle uova. Rimuovere la chiusura e i divisori del coperchio. Dipingere la scatola con vernice acrilica.
2 - Utilizzare la macchina Sizzix per tagliare un piccolo cerchio in tessuto (fustella 657020) per creare il bottone di stoffa, usando l'I Top o un altro tipo di attrezzo.
3 - Utilizzare la fustella con i fiori (656640) per tagliare due fiori multi petali dal cartoncino bianco. Tagliare un fiore simile con la striscia decorativa coordinata. Sovrapporre i fiori iniziando con il più piccolo, lavorando a ritroso. Forare e inserire  al centro il bottone di stoffa. Inserire dietro il filo di ferro da giardinaggio, arrotolando l'estremità per creare un piedistallo per il fiore. Modellare i petali per creare la margherita.
4 - Ora possiamo decorare la scatola. Ricalcare il coperchio per creare un modello da tagliare su di un pezzo di carta fantasia e ricoprire.
5 - Tagliare la tag Ornamental usando la fustella 656641 e tagliare via la parte centrale, per adattarsi alla misura della scatola. Incollare le due parti della tag unite al centro del coperchio.
6 - Tagliate due strisce di carte diverse, creare il becco da cicogna e applicare anch'esse al centro della scatola. Creare una “rosette” (656931) e incollarla al centro del coperchio della scatola. Tagliare un fiorellino con i Framelits, applicare uno strass. Dare dei punti di luce con piccole paillettes.
7 - Per l'interno: ricoprire il coperchio interno con carta tinta unita, così come avete fatto per l'esterno. Tagliare tre bandierine con i Framelits. Incollarle ad un cordoncino bianco. Inserire il cordoncino nel coperchio della scatola, praticando due fori e annodare. Fare anche un fiocco con più fili di spago grezzo, inseriti nei fori naturali della chiusura della scatola.
8 - Stampare (o timbrare) l'augurio pasquale. Tagliare con i Framelits dei cerchi scallop per creare il topper. Inserire il fiore in uno scomparto della scatola.
9 - Riempire ogni vano con centrini di carta, prima di aggiungere le uova di cioccolato.

Quando si regala, avvolgere con carta velina e un nastro per chiudere, in modo da nascondere la sorpresa!

Cake Slice Favor Boxes

Hi everyone! I'm here with a project for you from my Sweet Treats collection.

If you have a wedding, anniversary party, or other big event coming up that you need to make favor boxes for, the Box w/Lid, Cake Slice is a great one to use. You can fill it with candy, a small gift, a jewelry piece or whatever you can fit in there (box measures about 4 1/4" x 2" x 2") . This box is a ScoreBoard die specially designed to work with thick material like matboard and chipboard. It goes together really quickly and you can add so many special touches! 

This box was made in my favorite color, aqua. First, I cut the die out from white matboard. (The sheets are 12" x 12", so you just have to cut them in half so they will fit through the Big Shot.) 

You may not believe this, but you can emboss matboard! I started out in matting and framing and I can tell you, embossed matboard is very expensive. Now you can make your own!

Take the two triangular pieces and place them, one at a time, in a Textured Impressions embossing folder. You may feel a little extra resistance when rolling it through, but it comes out perfectly.

After you have embossed it, ink the raised portion of the design with a stamp pad. I use dye inks because they dry quickly.

Before assembling the project, make sure to fold each score line over 180 degrees so you break the fibers and it makes the project easier to assemble. Add strong double sided tape to all tabs and fold up into cake shape. 

I decorated the cake slices with a tissue paper flower I cut using the Sweet Treats for You Sizzlits set, Leaves Bigz die and swirl from the Birds and Butterflies. After cutting and layering a stack of tissue paper flowers, I fluffed them out to give dimension and added a brad, leaf and swirl and adhered to the cake slice with a glue dot. A rick rack border was cut from some cool aqua shimmer paper with the Borders & Hydrangea die. I placed the paper fold inside the die cut line to make a strip double the size. Sweet layout with Sweet Treats!

Hi there readers!
Today I've got for you another layout inspiration! Paper and canvas layouts are my favorite projects, and using Sizzix dies to embellish them makes creating pure pleasure! This time I decided to use  old family photo together with pretty, retro papers from "Nostalgia" Collection by My Mind's Eye. I've chosen two dies to work with - both from wonderful 657723 - Sizzix Bigz Die - Labels & Buttons and 657721 - Sizzix Bigz Die - Borders & Hydrangeas. Both of them give us sweet cut outs that are a prefect element of composition on crads, layouts - and for altered art of course!

Here is how I finished my layout step-by step:
