Floral Paper Banner

Happy Easter friends! I hope you are enjoying the holidays by taking some time with your family and of course having some crafting time too. We usually spend Easter having a nice lunch and lots of treats. I am sure we will watch some movies and I'll get some knitting done too.

Today I'm sharing a very simple DIY for this Floral Paper Banner. Perfect for Easter home decor.

I used the following supplies:

Using the Big Shot Plus, I cut out 4 flowers and 4 flags for each colour of card stock, I used pink and blue.

I arranged the die cuts along the lace trim to work out the positioning before stitching.

Using a sewing machine on a straight stitch (and on a fairly low speed), I stitched the card stock pieces along the top edge of the lace trim. Stitching through card stock can blunt your needle, so it always good to change it regularly if you are alternating between sewing fabric and card.

Once I had sewn all of the flowers and flags, I trimmed any stray threads and hung my banner. Very Spring like don't you think?

We're having some white chocolate rice crispy cakes with marshmallows as a treat today, they're really tasty! I'll be back next week with some cake toppers for those treats above.

A cute Easter Basket

Happy Easter to everyone!  Today I come with a new cute project using  Sizzix dies and some applique idea. This  nice bag is perfect  for Spring time  and I  hope to enjoy it during next months.

Supplies
9"x 24" background fabric (similar to rustic cotton) and batting
7.5" diameter of a circle for background  and  same for lining fabric
4.5"x 24 " lining fabric
4.5"x 24 " fabric like background for lining ( both pieces sewn together)
scraps of green and yellow fabric
24" cotton lace
Fusible web
Dies
Big Shot

I have used a nice Brenda Walton die but you can use any bird die too like Sizzix Bigz Die - Birds
Before doing the cutting I ironed a fusible web on the wrong side of the fabric  and laying this side up

I love the new die by Eileen Hull with Leaves ,perfect for any project even patchwork.I ´m sure I will use a lot.
I cut out 14 big ( they will be double), 7 medium size and 7 small.
First I appliqué the medium  and small leaves  with green thread. Then I sew two big ones , right face together , turn out and finish with hidden stitches by hand.

Sew the big leaves  just in the middle , leaving something free, ironed the  three birds and appliqué.
Added the batting and sew all the pieces doing the bag.
Then I did the lining and finished the bag  with it as usual.I  added some cotton lace before.
Take a look to the pics.

I love so much this cute bag. It can be a cover pot for your flowers or as a treat bag or even for your keeping your sewing goodies!!.

Hope you are having a wonderful Easter Time and like this new project I have designed for Sizzix with dies. See you in two weeks!
Love

Cut a vanilla rectangle, use embossing folder to create a textured background and attach below window.

Flag_of_Italy Per le amiche italiane! :)

Ciao!

Materiali:
cartone
foto
cartoncino: panna, turchese, rosa, rosa chiaro, verde
carte fantasia: Webster's Pages, Prima, Echo Park Paper, American Crafts
abbellimenti: "spring" e uccellino (American Crafts)
tessuto: naturale (Ikea), floreale
spago bicolore
occhielli
nastro pom pom
macchina da cucire
filo
colla, colla a caldo

Come fare:
Appendere e ammirare!

A presto

Easter Baskets from Gerry

Hello Sizzix friends!
Gerry's here today with some Easter inspiration.
I have two Easter Baskets to share with you today which
I made for my kids. These baskets will be part of their decoration
during their Easter breakfast at school.
655268 Sizzix Big Shot Machine
657724 Sizzix ScoreBoards Die - Candy Cup
657707 Sizzix Sizzlits Dec. Strip Die - Flower Burst w/Ribbon
657747 Sizzix Sizzlits Dec. Strip Die - Regal Edging
658506 Sizzix Sizzlits L - Vintage Doily

I used peel cardboard (1.5mm) to die cut the base for the basket.
Then I chose pattern papers to "dress it up".
I sanded the edges of each side of the basket.
To make the Flower Burst w/Ribbon more stable I die cut it three times -
twice using white cardstock and once using pattern paper.
Then I adhered them to one another.

I added Pearl Drops and a paper flower on top.
I also inked a little bit the edges.
The Regal Edging strip die was cut as normal.
I removed one of the die-cut pattern as I needed 4 for one basket.
Fold in 4 so it will look quadratic and adhere only in the middle
of each side of the basket.
Add a twine and a flower to the front side.

Die cut the  Vintage Doily and adhere underneath each basket.
OTHER PRODUCTS I USED:
Webster's Pages - "Modern Romance" Collection
Webster's Pages - "New Beginnings" Collection
Webster's Pages - "Best Friends" Collection
Prima Marketing Flowers - Velvet Rainbow Brights

I hope you enjoyed my projects today!
Wishing you a Happy Sunday!
