Hello Sizzix friends!

Today's project is about me :-)
I don't know about you but I often take selfies so I can share them online.
This photo is one of my favourite selfies and a special one because it was
taken in Wrexham when I visited for the first time Sizzix Europe headquarters.
And of course for my favourite photo I had to use my favourite Sizzix products!

As a base for my A4 layout I used the cardboard back of our old family agenda - 

yes, I never throw cardboard! You can use it in various ways.

Love how the Spring Greenery branches match 

the fussy cut branches from the pattern paper.

I used the small die-cut circles from the Tag & Bookplate to decorate

all over the layout - I simply die cut them in different colours and 

adhered them on my project.

I cut two small ends of the Ironwork Gate and coloured them in black.

Then I glued them on top of the other ends - 

in this way I wanted to have more contrast and also

to match the rest of the "blacks" on the layout.

I die cut the doily by using two different pattern papers.

One of the pattern papers I used for the doily itself and 

the circle where I stamped the quote.

From the black pattern paper I used only the circle for the layout.

I cut into two and used half underneath the other as a shadow.

Let’s start by gluing my 2 pictures size 10x15 cm directly on my October Afternoon background paper.

Then I cut a nice doily out of beige cardstock. Once scooped-out, it will be shaded with brown ink (Distress Vintage Photo).

Once inked, it is partially inserted under ma second picture.

Then I added tone-on-tone embies, stickers, masking tape and die cuts.

I also used scraps from a Project Life Card die cut which matches perfectly to my page as a paper addition.

All the small paper touches mix to my background with subtlety.

A few drawings with charcoal and some work with ink will come as a completion.

J'ai commencé par coller mes deux photos au format 10x15cm directement sur mon fond de page October Afternoon.

J'ai ensuite découpé un joli napperon dans du cardstock beige. Une fois évidé, celui-ci sera ombré avec de l'encre marron Distress Vintage photo.

Une fois encré il est glissé partiellement sous ma seconde photo.

Ma page est complétée avec des embellissements ton sur ton, stickers, masking tape ou encore die cuts.

J'ai ensuite utilisé des chutes d'une découpe carte Project Life parfaitement assorties à ma page pour rajouter quelques touches de papiers.

Celles-ci se mixent en toute subtilité avec mon fond.

Quelques dessins au fusain et un travail à l'encre seront ajoutées en touche finale.

J'espère que ma page vous aura plu.

Butterfly monochromatic cards



Hello everyone! It's again my turn to bring you brand new Sizzix inspiration today! Recently I created 3 monochromatic cards (one color with a few hues of it) in my favorite color palette. Today I would like to share with you how to make similar cards, because these are very easy to re-create and I think these are perfect for any occasion. My cards are with "just because" words, so I can use them whenever I will need.

Main decorations on my cards are large butterflies, which I cut out and embossed using Sizzix Bigz Die w/Texture Fades - Layered Butterfly set. To make smaller decorations, I used also wings from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Heavenly set, matching butterfly theme. Cards were supposed to be light, very layered and dimensional, so I decided to use vellum and cut out large decorative doily using die from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Doily & Doily Border set.

As my bakcgrounds are made using mediums, I decided to use them one more time to color large butterflies. I used color blooms and color shine mists and at the top I inked embossed parts using pale brown ink and added a touch of white gesso, as I always do. 

Stave with treble clef from the Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 11PK - Juke Box & Music set is a very versatile motif, I decided to use it in a very pale, delicate version. Each of the layer (large butterfly, additional wings, stave and the words in scalloped circle) were adhered using 3D cubes, to add more dimension and depth.

Witajcie! Dziś znów moja kolej na blogu Sizzix i dziś przynoszę Wam kolejną świeżą inspirację. Tym razem będą to 3 ostatnio stworzone monochromatyczne kartki w moich ulubionych kolorach. Monochromatyczne, czyli w jednym kolorze, lecz z wieloma jego odcieniami. Chciałabym pokazać Wam jak prosto wykonać podobne kartki, ponieważ są niezwykle łatwe do odtworzenia, a dodatkowo nadają się na każdą okazję. Moje kartki ozdobiłam neutralnymi napisami "just because", dzięki czemu mogę je wykorzystać kiedy tylko zajdzie taka potrzeba. 

Główny motyw na kartkach to duży motyl, wycięty i zemnossowany przy użyciu wykrojnika i folderu do embossingu z zestawu Sizzix Bigz Die w/Texture Fades - Layered Butterfly. Dodatkowo, nawiązując do głównego motywu, postanowiłam użyć wykrojników ze skrzydłami, czyli Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Heavenly, dodając po dwa, różne na każdej z kartek - skrzydełka. Ponieważ założyłam, że kartki mają być lekkie, przestrzenne i delikatne, pomyślałam, że warto wykorzystać trochę kalki i to właśnie z niej wycięłam duże, ozdobne serwetki, za pomocą wykrojnika z zestawu Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Doily & Doily Border. Ponieważ do stworzenia teł moich kartek wykorzystałam media, postanowiłam wykorzystać je ponownie kolorując duże motyle. Po wyschnięciu mediów na powierzchni motyli,  potuszowałam wypukłe, zembossowane fragmenty za pomocą jasno brązowego tuszu, a następnie dodałam nieco białego gesso, jak to mam w zwyczaju. Motyw pięciolinii z kluczem wiolinowym jest jednym z klasycznych, uniwersalnych motywów, świetnych na każdą okazję i pasujących do właściwie każdego stylu. Wykorzystałam go w moich kartkach w bardzo delikatnej wersji, a pięciolinię wycięłam wykrojnikiem z zestawu Sizzix Thinlits Die Set 11PK - Juke Box & Music.

Shabby chic cards with Bigz dies



Hello everyone! It's Karola here and today is my turn for bring you some fresh Sizzix inspiration! For today, I created 2 very layered and dimensional shabby chic cards, using Bigz and Frameworks dies and... a cardboard. I just love when my cards are very dimensional and love to create using cardboard. Very often we throw useless cardboard boxes, but today I have for you an idea that will make you collect them!

I decided to build my cards using thick elements with openwork motifs. I cut out patterns using the above-mentioned Bigz and Frameworks dies from the kraft cardboard. Then I painted elements using white gesso to add them a special shabby chic look. To add even more texture I used sponge brush. Some of elements have an only inked edges (leaves). After drying all elements, you can decorate your cards as you want. I made it layered, because I love when the cards are thick and dimensional.

Witajcie polskojęzyczni fani Sizzix-a! Tu znów Karola i dziś przypada moja kolej na dostarczenie Wam odrobiny świeżej inspiracji. Do dzisiejszego posta przygotowałam dwie, bardzo przestrzenne, warstwowe kartki w stylu shabby chic, do stworzenia których wykorzystałam wykrojniki Bigz i Frameworks oraz... tekturę falistą. Uwielbiam kiedy moje kartki są bardzo przestrzenne a jednocześnie uwielbiam pracować z tekturą, szczególnie z tą z odzysku, ze starego niepotrzebnego kartonu. Zwykle takie bezużyteczne kartony, pudełka wyrzucamy, ale dziś mam dla Was pomysł, który sprawi, że zaczniecie je zbierać!

Zdecydowałam się zbudować kompozycję moich kartek, wykorzystując grube, ażurowe motywy, które wycięłam z tektury falistej za pomocą wyżej wymienionych wykrojników. Następnie pomalowałam część z nich dość niedbale białym gesso, aby nadać im specyficznego stylu shabby chic (przetarcia). Aby nadać nieco więcej tekstury, malowałam elementy za pomocą pędzla gąbkowego. Niektóre z elementów (liście) mają jedynie potuszowane na brązowo brzegi. Po wyschnięciu elementów, można je wykorzystać do kompozycji na kartkach. Ja zaaranżowałam je warstwowo, ponieważ lubię kiedy moje kartki są grube i przestrzenne.

Layout with lace background



Hello everyone! It's Karola again with a new layout inspiration. 

For today, I prepared a soft, girly layout, very easy to recreate, mostly because of using fantastic Sizzix dies to make bold and lacey background. I really love everything doily and lacey, as I mentioned before, so i always try to put some doilies in my projects. This time I used Bigz Die - Doily, Classical Lace and Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Damask & Scallop Borders to create an interesting background arrangement in my page. These large and lacey motifs are incredibly beautiful and very versatile. 

Here are a few easy steps you can follow to recreate similiar background or even a whole page:

1. Prepare a layout base. I used yellow scrapbooking paper and a white textured cardstock on it. The edges of white cardstock was cut using "around the page" decorative punches. I used also mask with "chicken wire" motif on the top and the bottom of my page.
2. Cut out 2 pieces of damask border and 2 piece of doily in two different colors of scrapbooking paper. Arrange damask borders in the centre of the page, leaving some space between and adhere the doilies by hiding a part of it under the damask borders, as shown on the photos below.
3. Cut out oval frame using white cardstock and Framelits Die Set 4PK - Frame, Fancy Oval. Prepare your photo (7 x 8 cm) and adhere it, hiding the left photo edge under the left side of the oval frame, as you can see on the photo. Of course you can use also the oval shape photo. 
4. Then you can decorate your layout by creating some layers, adding title, embellies and maybe some mediums (I used yellow 3D paint to make a few decorative drops).

Well, I bet you will agree with me that this easy way makes the layout sweet, girly and super easy to create. Using Sizzix dies, you do not have lots of embellies, because you can always cut the motifs from the patterned paper you need in the color and material you want!

Witajcie! Dziś przynoszę ze sobą na blog Sizzix-a kolejną layout-ową inspirację. Do dzisiejszego posta przygotowałam delikatny, dziewczęcy scrap, bardzo łatwy do odtworzenia, głównie dzięki wykorzystaniu fantastycznych wykrojników Sizzix, dzięki którym zrobiłam bogate, koronkowe tło mojego scrapa.

Nie jest tajemnicą, że uwielbiam wszelkie wzory ażurowe, serwetki i koronki, zatem zwykle staram się opierać moje projekty na tego typu motywach i dodawać je wszędzie tam, gdzie to możliwe. Tym razem wykorzystałam wykrojniki: Bigz Die - Doily, Classical Lace oraz Thinlits Die Set 2PK - Damask & Scallop Borders aby stworzyć moją aranżację tła. Uważam, że te dwa sporej wielkości motywy są nieprawdopodobnie piękne oraz bardzo uniwersalne.

Poniżej znajdziecie kilka wskazówek, dzięki którym z łatwością stworzycie podobne tło a może i cały layout:

1. Najpierw należy przygotować bazę scrapa. Ja użyłam żółtego papieru do scrapbookingu oraz białego brystolu, który nakleiłam na żółte tło. Brzegi białego brystolu wycięłam ozdobnie za pomocą dziurkaczy multifunkcyjnych. Dodatkowo użyłam maski ze wzorem siatki oraz zielonego tuszu do stworzenia wzorów u góry i na dole mojego tła. 
2. Następnie należy wyciąć 2 razy koronkowy border oraz 2 serwetki, najlepiej z dwóch różnych kolorystycznie papierów do scrapbookingu. Teraz trzeba przykleić wycięte motywy na środku tła, w taki sposób, aby serwetki zachodziły nieco pod koronkowe bordery - najlepiej zerknąć na zdjęcie powyżej aby zobaczyć jak ja zaaranżowałam wykrojnikowe motywy. 
3. Teraz czas na ramkę do zdjęcia. Wystarczy wyciąć owalną, ozdobną ramę, wykorzystując wykrojnik z zestawu Framelits Die Set 4PK - Frame, Fancy Oval oraz biały brystol (papier wizytówkowy). Następnie trzeba przygotować zdjęcie o wymiarach zbliżonych do 7 x 8 cm. Zdjęcie przyklejamy do scrapa w taki sposób, aby jego lewy brzeg wchodził pod lewą stronę wnętrza ramki. Dość dobrze widać to na zdjęciach powyżej. Oczywiście można użyć zdjęcia w kształcie owala. 
4. Pozostaje ozdobić layout, tworząc trochę warstw, dodając tytuł, ozdoby i może odrobinę (lub więcej) mediów (ja zrobiłam kilka kropek za pomocą żółtej farby 3D). 

Cóż, jestem pewna, że zgodzicie się ze mną, że ten prosty sposób pozwala na stworzenie słodkiego, dziewczęcego scrapa z z dużą łatwością. Wykorzystując wykrojniki Sizzix nie musicie korzystać z mnóstwa gotowych dodatków, ponieważ zawsze możecie wyciąć sobie ulubione motywy w kolorze i z materiału jaki chcecie.

The phrase was first stamped on some leftover pattern paper 

and then the label die (658932) was used to die cut it.

As an addition to the stamped phrase I added three die-cut flowers.

I started by working on my background with a 12x12 stencil and ink sprays (green and yellow colours).

While my background dries, I cut a doily out of white cardstock with my Big Shot and some foliage out of green printed paper.

I inserted the elements around my picture, wherever there was a free space.

As a finishing touch, I added some drops of black ink and striped masking tape to add contrast.

The title “life is good” is a combination of stamp and alphabet letters.

A very simple and colourful lay-out! I hope it will inspire you!

J'ai commencé par retravailler mon fond de page à l'aide d'un pochoir 12x12 et de deux couleurs d'encres en spray ( vert et jaune).

Pendant que mon fond sèche, j'ai découpé à l'aide de ma Big Shot, un napperon dans du cardstock blanc et des feuillages dans un imprimé vert.

Tous les éléments sont intégrés autour de ma photo, profitant d'un espace libre.

J'ai rajouté en touche finale quelques gouttes noires, du masking tape zébré afin d'ajouter du contraste.

Le titre " Life is Good" est composé de tampon et d'alphabets.

Une page toute simple et colorée, qui je l'espère vous inspirera !
