Skating Penguin!

Hi there,

I'd like to share my last September 2018 Reveal card. Today I am using the cute Dancing Penguin Stamp Set 913.

I made the background by sticking a piece of Super Adhesive Sheet to the back of the designer paper.

The igloo was created by cutting a piece of a circle out of watercolor paper using a Grand Circle die in the Tangerine and then dry embossing with the Darice Brick Pattern embossing folder.

The snow drifts were made in the same way with Impression Obsession Hills die and then dry embossed with Crafts Too Polka Dots embossing folder. The hills and the igloo were then applied with Moonstone Glimmer Paste. These were set aside to dry while I worked on the Penguin.

The Penguin was stamped in the Stamp Platform in Black Shadow Hybrid Ink. I then removed the top of the Stamp Platform, so I could work on my coloring desk while leaving the image in the same spot on the platform.

I used Aquaflow Watercolors and Nuvo Alcohol Markers with a Blending Pen to color the penguin. The Hybrid ink allows both mediums to be used! Once colored I put the stamp platform back together again and then stamped with Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with Clear Detail over the top of the image. He was then fussy cut with the 5" Mini Scissors.

Brushable Glue and Snow White Flocking was applied to the belly and hat trim.

Nuvo Crystal Drops Morning Dew were applied to the beak, bell and feet for a glossy effect.

I cut out a window for the slider on the designer paper panel.

This was then mounted onto Cobalt Blue Mirror cardstock, leaving a space on the right side where the pull tab will move in and out.

The hills and igloo were mounted on to the card front. A strip of white cardstock was slipped into the slider space. The penguin was attached with mounting tape to the left hand side and a balsa wood arrow was covered with Clear Mark Ink and heat set with Cerulean. The arrow was attached with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive.

The sentiments for the stamp set were stamped in the Stamp Platform with Empire Blue Hybrid Ink. They were then die cut with Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders. The "Sending you" sentiment was layered on to the Cobalt Blue Mirror cardstock.

Snowflakes from the set were stamped in Clear Mark and embossed in White Detail on a strip of the Mirror Cardstock which would then be attached as the base of the easel card with the second sentiment centered on top.

The card base was made and then the card assembled. Here is the card before the penguin emerges!

... and here he is "sliding on by!"

Sunflower Hello!

A Sunshiny hello,

Today I am sharing the first of my September Reveal cards. I combined both the Sunflower Cheer Set 916 along with the digi version and then the background is the Stampendous Cling Sunny Sketch 6CR004 stamp.

I began with stamping the background on watercolor paper with the Hybrid Ink Acorn Brown, using the Stamp Platform.

Masking Fluid was applied sporadically to different areas of the image and once dry, the image was sprayed with water using the Light Mist Sprayer and Shimmer Powders were applied.

I used a Water Brush to move the colors around. Solar Flare, Catherine Wheel and Garden Parade were the colors I used.

Cherry bomb mixed with Solar Flare was used for the background.

I printed out the digis, while I was waiting on the background to dry. I printed one 5" x 7" sunflower and then two 4" x 6". These were fussy cut using the 5" mini scissors.

Versamark was applied to all three sunflowers and they were heat embossed with Sparkle. Dimensional Glue was then applied to the center of one of the smaller sunflowers and Sparkling Coffee was added.

The Masking Fluid was then gently rubbed off the background piece.

Yellow and orange Glitter Markers from the Ember Glow pack were applied with a water brush to certain areas of the petals.

Aquaflow watercolors were used to color the bee and the leaves.

Honey Gold Glitter Drops were applied to the wings of the bee.

Caramel Cream Crystal Drops were added to the little circles around the flower on the right.

The background was placed back in the Stamp Platform and was dusted with the anti static bag, before the sentiment was stamped in Versamark and then heat embossed with Timber.

I cut off the stem and leaves of the larger digi and one of the smaller ones. The petals of the flowers were cut with the 5" mini scissors and were curled a little before being attached to the background with Tear-ific Tape and Mounting Tape.

Raffia ribbon was tied around the stem of the flocked flower before it was attached to the panel with Mounting Tape.

A watercolor paper card based was edged with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape and the card front was centered on top, leaving a then edge of adhesive to which Autumn Frost glitter was applied.

Here is a close up of the completed project.

Faithful Tractor

Hi there,

Thanks for stopping by today. I'd like to share another Sparkle N Sprinkle August Reveal card, this time using the fun Old Tractor Set 910, along with an old favorite set 812: Right Beside You.

Using the Stamp Platform, I stamped the tractor image on to red cardstock in Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with Copper.

The tree from the Right Beside You set was positioned to the left of white cardstock, using the
Stamp Platform, and was stamped in Clear Mark ink and heat embossed with Copper. After
fussy cutting the tractor with the 5" Mini Scissors, I layered the tractor in to some "hills" using
different cardstocks and the IO-343 Hills die. The bottom hill was die cut from the Copper
Feathers Specialty Paper and attached with mounting tape. I use the Tangerine machine for
die cutting, and the Guillotine for cutting, the Specialty Papers, my other machines tear rather
than cut the specialty papers.

The sentiment also from the Right Beside You set was stamped in Clear Mark and
heat embossed with Copper and was die cut from a scrap of the beige "hill".

This was then die cut with a Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Frame and was edged with
Custard Cream Embellishment Mousse, before being attached with Mounting Tape.
The edges of the white card were also distressed with the Custard Cream mousse,
before being layered on to the jute card base.

Some Caramel Cream Crystal Drops were applied to the tree and to the sentiment,
as fruit, for a finishing touch.

The products used on my card today are listed below. You can also get an extra 10%
off by using this code at the checkout: ShonaDT10.

Denim Pocket Happy Birthday

Hi there,

Today I'd like to share with you, my first May Reveal card using the fun Pocket Full of Posies Set 896 along with my homemade denim cardstock!

As soon as I saw this stamp set, I had the idea of using the denim pocket in my card design. I had used the pocket idea many, many years ago when I had photocopied the back pocket of one of my toddler's jeans (the youngest of which is 18 today!!). I had taken several copies of it, and it was tucked at the bottom of my homemade background's drawer. I thought it would be fun to have denim on the background too, so I put a leg of a pair of jeans in my printer and took a copy. Here are the beginnings of the card:

I made my tag using the Memory Box Stitched Main Street Tags, but the tag that was wide enough was not sufficiently long, so I ran it through the Tangerine machine and put a doubled up piece of card at the bottom of the tag, which acted as a stop and then I pulled the tag die down, in order to elongate the die cut. I made two of these elongated tags, so that I would have a backing to the tag, as I wanted to stamp a sentiment on the back and make it sturdier.

On one of the tags, using the Stamp Platform, I stamped the sentiment from another of the May Reveal Sets - Cardinal and Holly Set 895 in Nuvo Clear Mark and then heat setting with Cerulean. A little ribbon of denim was added, when the tag was finished.

Now on to the front of the tag. Using the Stamp Platform again, I stamped the image with Nuvo Clear Mark and then heat embossed with Black Detail.

The background was colored in with Cornflower Blue Embossing Mousse applied with a waterbrush. Then the flowers were colored using an acrylic block and Aquaflow Markers: Spiced Ginger, Lemon Zest, Red Apple and Fresh Green, also being applied with the Nuvo Water Brush.

The stamp was positioned in the Stamp Platform to fit inside the lines of the pocket. This was then stamped in Nuvo Clear Mark and heat embossed with Sienna. This was then fussy cut with the 5" Mini Scissors

This pocket was layered over the stamped pocket with 1/4" Tear-ific Tape. I used the Black Micron Pen to add the little leafy squiggle. Then Tangerine and Butterscotch Microfine Glitters were added to the flowers using the Sakura Quickie Glue Pen.

Winter Cranberry Glitter Accents was added to the red centers of the flowers.

I cut out the printed jean pocket with the mini scissors for the front of the card. The back and front of the tags were glued together with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive

The card base was cut and 1/4" Tear-ific Tape was added around the edges. The denim cardstock was then layered to the center of the card base and both Tangerine and Butterscotch Glitters were applied to the exposed adhesive. The little sentiment was stamped in Nuvo Clear Mark and heat embossed with Cerulean and was then cut out using a small die from the Stitched Main Street Tags. It was attached to the pocket with a little gold brad. The copied pocket was attached to the front panel with Mounting Tape, which would allow the tag to be pulled in and out.

Ripened Pumpkin Crystal Drops were added to the card for finishing touches.

Here is a list of the Products used in my card today:

Black Detail (EP171), Sienna (EP413),
Memory Box Stitched Main Street Tags
Copic YR16 Marker
Gold Brad
Denim (home copied paper)
