Gypsy Made Simple - Making A Shape Card From A Single Shape

Don't you just love everything about summer? The bright sunny days that are so nice and warm, swimming, playing outside, visiting with friends and neighbors, backyard BB Q's just to name a few. Yup, summer is the best. And when you think of summer somehow you always get around to having icy cold water melon! YUMMY! Well today I thought we would practice making shape cards by taking a single shape and welding it together to produce a card. Add the layers and you have got a card that anyone would love to receive. So grab your coffee and turn on your Gypsy and let's get to work.

See how easy it is if you just take your time and go step by step, before you know it you are cutting your card out. I have to admit I am feeling a little strange on this one as I usually set up my card 2 up so that I end up with two but because of the size I only did one. Now I am just going to have to cut another so I have a spare!

Now wasn't that just too easy to put together? I just love this little card and I love how fast it was to make. This is just what we need for the summer months when we still have the urge to craft but don't have a lot of time as we are spending it with family and friends doing the things we love to do.

I love how easy this card went together. I inked the edges using Close To My Heart ink in Topiary, New England Ivy, Colonial White, and Holiday Red using a simple round sponge that I cut into six pie shaped pieces.

I love how a little Holiday Red ink just gives the inside of this card the perfect look and feel and it took only seconds to apply. I used the word sweet right off the same cart; Simply Charmed.

Well this is the finished card and as you can see it stand up nicely too.
This week I challenge you to make a shape card from a single shape and then add the appropriate layers and link it up. You too will be amazed at how easy it it to make a shape card. Let's see what you do.
I hope you enjoyed today's post, I know I had fun spending time with you. Thank you for your sweet sweet words of encouragement. Your comments inspire me to continue sharing with you. Have a blessed week.

Gypsy Made Simple - Easter Window Cards

Don't you just love children's Easter cards? They are just so much fun to make and the children just love them so much. My grandchildren just love getting my homemade cards and I am thrilled when they show them off to their friends and other relatives! So today we are going to step up Gypsy Made Simple just a little and make another window card but with a few more pieces to make it a little harder. So go get your coffee, tea or coke, turn your Gypsy on and let's get to work.

Now wasn't that easy? And you do the same thing for any cart you want. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cart as I knew it had plenty of frames to choose from but you can use any cart that you own with frames and of course any fun little piece of art to go in it. Just have fun and do the steps.

Look at the yummy papers that I picked out. They are from K and Company, their 2011 spring stack. I chose from these as they were on the top of the pile of paper stacks. LOL Still organizing and I have a closet with 75 stacks in it and it seems that only the top ones get used! LOL

Here you can see how clean the cut was. Just remember to layout your colors according to the arrow on your Gypsy matched to the direction of the arrow on your mat.
I used scrap paper for this cut and then before I even removed it from my mat I took some pink chalk and colored the little pieces for it's ears and feet as well as colored in cheeks.

I used the sentiment from the My Peeps stamp set and was impressed at the clarity and how easy this stamp went down.
Look at my Simply Charmed bunnies aren't they adorable... all ready to put on the base of the card.

And this little bunny and carrot is from Create A Critter. I have to tell you this is one of my favorite carts for making children's cards and they seem to love them too.

See how easy it is to put these cards together. I put all my outside piece together first along with any inking and stamping and then you can easily put together the entire card in a matter of just a couple of minuets.

Thought I would show you the other cards too. Designing them is done the same was as with the little duck card. EASY! And as you can see they go together in just a little time.
Thought I would show you a little close up of the cards. This is the Simply Charmed card. If you would like the file click HERE.
This is the little Create A Critter Duck card and if you would like the file click HERE.
And this one it the bunny Create A Critter card and if you want this file click HERE.
I challenge you to make your own window Easter cards this week and link it up! It can be for a child or adult as long as it has a window and an Easter theme it qualifies. Those of you that do not have a Gypsy can still enter, you can use your design studio or CCR can be used too. Remember the CCR is a free tool that Provocraft has designed to go with our Cricut machines. This week I will be giving away a stamp set to one lucky entry chosen using Random.org. All you need to do to enter is link up your entry by 4PM on Friday March 30 for your chance to win. The winner will be announced Saturday morning.
Thank your for joining us today. I sure hope you enjoyed yourself and hopefully learned a little something to help you along the way. Oh just so you know I love challenges too, and have linked this up with SOUS StuckOnYouSketches! So if you do a bunny on your window card, be sure to rush over there and link up your card there too! You will love them.
Thank You for you sweet sweet words of encouragement. Your comments inspire me to continue sharing with you. Have a blessed day.

Valentine Jar

Good morning everyone. This is Chris from Get Inspired With ChatterScene. First I wanted to thank Sheila for asking me back again this month.

For todays project I put together a cute little Valentine's Day jar. I had a lot of fun doing this project.

First I started with an old peanut container. I peeled off the label and ran it through the dishwasher.

I then took some Stampin Up paper and cut it at 7x4 so it would wrap around the jar half way.

Then I opened up my Cricut Craft Room.

The bug is from the Cricut Cartridge Simply Charmed. And the scalloped circle is
from the Cricut Craft Room Basics digital cartridge.
The bug and its layers I cut at 3 inches. The scalloped square I cut at 3.25 inches.
I used a red ink around the scalloped square.
And black ink and red chalk to draw in the face ( I hid the contours of the face when cutting it )

After glueing the paper to the jar I took my pink ribbon and wrapped it around
having it meet in the front of the jar. Taped it in the front and then glued the the scalloped square
over it. I then took a couple of 3d pop dots and added the cute love bug to the front.
Took another piece of the pink  ribbon, some read thread, and a red button.
Created the bow and then glued on the side.
Then I added some glitter to his antennas and his heart.
The lid on the jar I took off white ribbon and glued it around the jar.
And then added the finishing touch of the red thread and button to the lid.
I then added some fun Valentine's Day candy to the inside:)

Thank you so much for checking out my post here at She's A Sassy Lady.
Hugs
Chris

Christmas Tags & Weekly Challenge

So are you getting ready for Christmas. I know I sure am.... Still working on presents and I need to address my Christmas cards. This weekend I hope to finish my Christmas shopping too. So we are moving right along. This week I mass produced Christmas gift tags.  And I want to tell you I had so much fun with these little stockings. I know I scrap lifted them and I think it was from Emma at My Creative Time basically because of the boa!!! She loves to use them and so do I but it wasn't until I did this project did I realize why I stopped using the feathers..... What a mess and so hard to clean as the little feathers fly all over! But it was well worth it!
Today I have 2 videos. I designed the little stocking to flip open on my Gypsy which is what you will see on the first video. The Gypsy makes everything so easy to design so grab your coffee and let's get to work.

Then for the second video I changed the design as I was out of red 12x12 paper and I wanted something super simple. Now if you are in a hurry and you want to save money this second video is for you! Such a simple design and so fast to put together. If you need to mass produce this is your method. I did 32 tags in 2 hours! That is from design, cut, assembly all the way through clean up. You gotta love that.

This is just so simple! You will love it.

The first thing I did was adhere all the backs on the stockings. Easy-peasy with my ATG.

Then I put a little hot glue on from my glue gun. And I want you to know this is the first time I did not burn myself with it... I am so proud.

Then I pressed my little pre-cut pieces of boa to each stocking.

I then added a little twine to each stocking after I punched a little hole in it.

That simple! Now I challenge you to make ANYTHING you need for Christmas and link it up! Anything; Christmas cards, tags, trees, gifts, banners but it must contain red or white... just link it up. This week's winner will receive either a stamp set or a set of monogrammed note cards (winners choice). The winner will be chosen via random.org. All entries will be in by Friday 4PM on December 9th and the winner will be announced Saturday morning the 10th.
Thank you for joining us today. I hope you enjoyed today's post and thank you for your sweet sweet words of encouragement. Your comments continue to inspire me to keep sharing with you.

Cookie Sheet mini album / Home Decor piece

Hello everyone! Java Jen here from Java Jen Creations ! I'm so excited to share my project with you today!! Thank you, once again, Sheila for allowing me to!! :-)  Well, are any of you just a little bit curious because of my title??  I started thinking about this idea a few months ago after I took these sweet pics of our niece and my mother-in-law making cookies together. I thought that it would be really neat if I could figure out a way to somehow display these pictures on an actual cookie sheet to hang in the kitchen!  It took some figuring in coming up with my handmade accordion-type minis.  Another reason this project was so challenging is because I have not been home since June 30th, when we left for Ohio for vacation and then drove on to North Carolina to stay with my husband where he works!  So.......  that means I had to create this project in our hotel room!  While in Ohio, I was able to use my Mom's Cricut to cut my words and other images that I wanted to include in this project - so glad that I had previously designed my cuts on my Gypsy!   Anyway - enough talkin', let's get to lookin'!! :-)

Here is the finished piece and then I'll break it down so you can see how everything came together:

I used lots of papers and embellishments from my June, July and August club kits from Club Ruby Designers . If you have not checked them out, you simply must! :-)  Their monthly kits are so full of wonderful goodies that make creating projects so easy! In the August kit is a brand new product from Megan Elizabeth called Paper Layerz! Let me tell you, it is simply fantastic, especially when used with my trusty Gypsy! To find out all about Paper Layerz, click HERE!

I chose exactly where I wanted my images to cut based on the color of the Paper Layerz squares.

Some finished cuts - (some were from my kits papers and kraft paper)
There was actually a white gel pen in this month's kit so all the more reason to do what I love! :-)

The cookie sheet I used is 10.5"x15.5".  I started with a smaller one but switched to a bigger one to be able to fit everything on. I forgot to take a pic of the bigger one.

Love this paper from the Club Ruby Designers June kit!

I found this perfect ribbon at Hobby Lobby!

Here are a couple of the fold-outs opened up. The one on the right is cut to 5.5"x12" and scored at 4" and 8" to make folding easier.

I added to the fold-out on the left but forgot to take pics before I put it all together.

I cut a slit for the ribbon to come through to hold this section up when it isn't open.

"Chum" is the name all the grandkids have for my mother-in-law!

Wow! It's done! I just love it!
Here it is all opened up.

If you have any questions as to specific sizes of the cricut cuts, just leave me a comment and I'll get back with you.  I hope I've given you all enough detail so that you can make one of these for your own.  When I get back home, I'll be adding some stickles and other embellishments.  Thanks for stopping by today!!
