Tonight I will read more of Shade of Vampires series. This is #6.

Day 14

Nora Corbett Faerie Winters Dream from the Cross Stitch & Needlework January 2013 issue.
28 ct Molino Silkweaver solo

I watched a little bit of Something's Gotta Give.
The rest of tonight I will read the 5th book of The Shade of Vampire series by Bella Forrest, I am about 1/2 way through the book.

It has been below 0 last night and tonight. I unburied my car, which had almost a foot of snow on it since I haven't moved it in 2 weeks. I had planned on going to the library to pick up a bunch of audiobooks. It took me 20 minutes to unbury my car and my windshield still was not defrosted or the windows inside my car. I was also frozen and my face hurt. So I decided I was done. Came in and took a shower and put on flannel pjs lol. The library is closed on Thursdays so I will go on Friday.

My puppy had more shots today and last visit she weighed 9.5 lbs and today she weighs 16.1 lbs. She is growing really well.

Day 11

Today's stitching piece is Mirabilia Fairy Roses.
28 ct cashel linen Silkweaver Pixie Dust

While I was stitching I watched:
Galavant
Resurrection
Revenge

I read an awesome book today as well. Cinder by Marissa Meyer. It is the first book of the Lunar Chronicles Trilogy. I rated it 5 stars.  A forbidden romance. A deadly plague. Earth's fate hinges on one girl . . . CINDER, a gifted mechanic in New Beijing, is also a cyborg.

Days 8, 9, & 10

I was reading a really good book that I put off posting in here.

Day 8 - Mirabilia Shimmering Mermaid
32 ct Wexford Linen - Silkweaver solo

I stitched on it while watching The Chew and General Hospital. Then I started reading Ready Player One by Ernest Cline and I read until I had to go to bed. The book was so good.

DAY 9 - Mirabilia July Amethyst Fairy
28 ct cashel linen silkweaver solo

I stitched on this while watching The Chew and General Hospital and then I pulled out the book.
Well actually I pulled out my Tablet since I was reading Ready Player One on that. I finished it and gave it 5 stars. I LOVED this book. It was amazing. If you think the world of virtual gaming is awesome, even if you don't play games, and you like the 80's music, movies and video games then you would like this book. I highly recommend it. It is one of the best books that I have read in a long time.

DAY 10 - Mirabilia August Peridot Fairy
Not sure what the fabric is, I can't remember

I stitched on this while watching a Hallmark movie on my DVR, A Royal Christmas, which I enjoyed.
My plans for the rest of the evening are to watch some You tube (book tube ) videos and play sims4.

7th day

January 7- So today's new start is Nora Corbett Arezzo 2014.
32 ct belfast linen - Silkweaver solo

I only watched The Chew and General Hospital today. I was in a reading mood and finished reading A Castle of Sand by Bella Forrest and then also read the next book A Shadow of Light by Bella Forrest. The books keep getting better. There are 4 more in this series.

We have had a wind chill advisory all day through tomorrow morning. Right now it is -3 with a wind chill at -19. I am staying warm in my fleece pjs but is really cold when I have to take the puppy out. She seems to like it and doesn't want to come back in but wants to play in the snow.

Since I have been home I have read a lot and not played sims4. I will probably find time over the weekend to play the game.

6th day

January 6 - Today's new start is Mermaid Azure by Nora Corbett.
32 ct Belfast Linen, Silkweaver solo

I stitched while watching The Chew and Pretty Little Liars. I also watched Grumpy Cat's Worse Christmas Ever that I had DVRd from Lifetime. It was one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen.

I also am changing my reading goals for this year, than what was mentioned in my January 1 post.  I won't list it here in case I change my mind again LOL. But I did finish the Beau Butler series by K. R. Whitaker and am going to finish The Shade of Vampire series by Bella Forrest. Starting Monday I am doing a read-a-lon with a friend. We are going to read Cinder by Marissa Meyers. I have heard such good things about this series that I really want to read it.

We have a winter storm advisory for tonight and tomorrow plus a wind chill advisory of -20 for tomorrow through Thursday morning. All my warm clothes have been washed :-)

5th day

January 5- Today's new start was Luna by Nora Corbett. You can't see it but this fabric is glittery.
28 ct Lugana silkweaver Opalescent - Inferno

I ended up being sick overnight and am home from work. Slept most of the day but found time to stitch a little bit.

I also finished reading It's Time We Talked by K. R. Whitaker. I give this ebook 5 star. It is also the last book of the Beau Butler series.

The next book I will be reading is A Castle of Sand by Bella Forrest. It is #3 of her Shade of Vampire series.

Goodbye 2014

December was a busy month for me. I had parathyroid operation the first week which laid me up for a short time. So my son, Justin, did all the Christmas decorating and the tree. It was simple this year. Never again will I schedule an operation before a holiday lol.

On the 20th I got a puppy.  Her name is Daenerys and I got the name from Game of Thrones. She is a Queen. She is a  Rotti/German Shepherd mix.

This was also Carson's first Christmas.

I stitched on AAN Butterfly all month. This is being done on a 32 ct pink sparkly fabric with DMC B5200.

I watched a bunch of Christmas movies from Hallmark.

I also read:
Laurell K Hamilton- The Laughing Corpse
                                  Circus of the Damned
                                  The Lunatic Cafe
                                  Bloody Bones
                                  The Killing Dance
                                  Burnt Offerings

Loved them all and will continue the series in 2015.

Drac

Well I stitched on Drac on January 31 and watched Halloween cartoons.
I was hoping to have more done but I kept falling asleep. Plus I am mad because I ran out of 209 and when I pulled out what I had they are a lighter shade of this purple and I went to Michaels, today, and theirs is a lighter shade of purple so I must have started using an older color dye lot. So I am going to have to frog all that 209 and use the new dye lot. Grrrr!

I bought a 50" TV for the family room and that is hooked up today. Plus I bought a small one for Scott in his room. Can't wait to watch the super bowl on the big TV. Plus at noon on Hallmark is the Kitten Bowl and at 2pm is the puppy bowl on Animal Planet.

Today I will start on L&L Fairy Grandmother. I went to Michaels for floss. They have been out of one color for over a month. I asked when they order floss and she said every Friday. I looked at her and said oh really, then why have you been out of the same color for over a month? She said well we can order it for you. I said no, not if you send in an order every Friday then it should be here right? She didn't answer me. I looked at Walmart last time and , even though I am thrilled that Walmart brough back floss, why don't they carry all the colors? So of course they didn't even have a spot for the color I wanted. Oh well, next Saturday I will be by Joanne's and will get it there.

Dylan had asked me to help him and Amber scrapbook for the baby pics. So today I bought a bunch of baby stitckers and some paper, at Michaels , that were all on clearance.  The other stack of paper that I want was $19.99 and I didn't have a coupon so next weekend I will get a coupon for Joannes and get it there.

I have had a headache all day so once the ibuprofen kicks in then I will stitch. Not sure what I want to watch though. I have all The Fast and Furious DVDs, that I got for Christmas, so I may watch those.

Oh and by the way. GO SEAHAWKS!!!

Bored?

I love Facebook but had gotten rid of all the games that I played but Fairyland. Now I don't like that game anymore so in a couple of weeks I will be done with that and get rid of all my Fairyland friends. I also left all the groups I was in. Just took up to much time.

Now went through blogs that I was member of and left a couple of those. I no longer do exchanges. I would rather RAK someone. Some blogs no one posted to anymore anyways.

Then some of my Yahoo groups are dead so I left those.

I want to stitch on my UFOs/WIPs and 2 small monthly SALs and of course my ornament a month.

I do NOT want to stitch on anymore RRs. They also take up time.

I miss certain friends, as we used to be close but I got sucked into so much stuff online. I want to read thier blogs and email them regularly again.

I also am trying to not watch new shows on TV as I want to free up my evenings listening to my audio books and watching movies, while stitching. I haven't been caring for Nikita, on the CW so I am no longer going to watch that show. Some of my shows aren't coming back, Medium, Smallville and possibly House, Bones and Supernatural, after this season.

Must be a phase I am going through. Anyone else feel this way?

Next year I want to start a blog of just stitchers stitching on freebies. I don't know about you but I have been printing them up since 1999 and would love to do a year of stitching them and getting rid of the patterns. Yes, gasp, I do throw them out after I stitch them up. Anyone else want to make it their goal for next year?

I like the idea of each year doing something different. I also would love to stitch out of the magazines that I own. Some only have 1 or 2 patterns in them. Then give the magazine away when I am done. Get rid of all this clutter? maybe not clutter but to make way for new things.

I also will give out boxes of books after my book meeting each month. The only thing is they are registered with Book Crossing and I do want journal entries with book crossing when you get them and read them. It is a free membership and fun.

Ok so who is still reading all this silly nonsense? I know boring blog post but a journal post anyways. Is it because Dylan has moved out and Justin may move out next month so I need new changes? I like change and would move in a heartbeat but DH won't move.

Ok I am done blathering lol.

The RR is done

I finished it tonight and have another square to do on another one sitting here. Then I think I have one more to stitch on. I really like this RR group and they want to do another one the beginning of the year. The thing is I think I want to skip a year. I have so many WIps and UFOs that I really want to get done. Also some new starts :-) There are things that I also would like to stitch and start doing small giveaways or random acts of kindness.
On top of that I would like to set aside 1 night a week and start doing Zentangles as they look like so much fun. I plan on buying 1 book this week, a sketchbook and some markers.

Tonight I finished the Audiobook: The Shack by William P. Young. It is a very moving book. Next up on my ipod is Hold Tight by Harlan Coben.

Thanks for the comments, love them.

Stitching and TV

My day started out crappy. I had Dylan start up my car to warm it 10 minutes before I was to leave. He drives to school and leaves before I do so this works out well. Anyways I get out to my car and open my driver's door and there is a terrible smell and smoke in my car. Dylan and I have smelled this a few times but can never figure out what it is. It smells like burnt rubber or something similiar to that. So I call Scott to come get me and take me to work. I then ask Justin if he had to work today and he said no. So I asked him to pick me up from work at 3 or 4. So Scott says my car smells like an oil leak somewheres. It was supposed to go in the shop but they were busy today.
So I get to work and we were swamped and I ended up having to work over.
I have stitched on the bookmark tonight and watched all 4 episodes of this weeks General Hospital.
Not much else going on here.
Anyone have any plans for the weekend? I have a BookCross meeting Saturday. Other than that just stitching and some cleaning.

stitching an exchange piece

Love Halloween :-)

Work wasn't busy so we caught up on a few things. Came home and got caught up on emails, blogs, BBs and Facebook. Fixed Taco salad for dinner.

Then sat and watched Monsters VS Aliens. It was cute. I also watched The Forgotten on ABC. I like this show a lot. I stitched quite a bit on an exchange piece and will finish it tomorrow but first have to put some finishes together so i can mail 1 and take the rest with me to Myrtle Beach, yes Carolyn I am going :-)

some questions for stitchers

1. Do you use the loop method? why or why not?
2. Do you railroad your stitches? the top and bottom stitch or just the top?
I have tons and tons of mags but only like a couple of charts but hate to cut up just the ones that I like. Do you cut yours up or just hold onto the whole mag?

I keep wanting to change my rotation. I really want to finish Quilt Sampler, Night Before Christmas , and Christmas Angel. So I am thinking after this RR, and 2 exchanges I need to stitch up, that I will work just on these 3. Plus my regular weekend WIP. How many times do you change your rotation?
so week 1 would be Quilt Sampler, week 2 Night Before Christmas, and week 3 Christmas Angel while week 4 would be a JCS ornament or 2. I joined 3 Christmas Ornament SAL groups but have only stitched one ornament this year. I need to stop the RRs and exchanges so I can get my things finished.

I also read another blog on where has the time gone. She talked about her son's birthday and how they grow up. I can certainly understand that. Last week was both of my boys' birthdays. Justin turned 19 and Dylan turned 17. What happened because I know I didn't age any. I feel the same :-).

Tonight I am just rambling so please forgive me. I did stitch for 3 hours on a RR and am hoping to finish it tomorrow night. I also want to play a little bit with my blog and get it ready for April/Easter.

I also watched:
House
24
Medium

I totally forgot to watch General Hospital that I had DVRd.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

the weekend is almost here

Still not busy at work. I left at 2 today. I also started listening to The Quickie by James Patterson. It is good already.
I watched general Hospital while winding floss on bobbins. Tonight I listened a little more of The Quickie and then I stitched while watching: Bones, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice.

Nothing else going on here.

Reading and stitching

well listening to an audiobook and stitching.
First it was not busy at work so I left at noon. I did start Sundays At Tiffany's, while at work.
I came home and got all caught up on BBs and blogs. That felt good. I had so many blogs that I didn't get to leave comments at all of them
I did a couple of loads of laundry. Watched 2 episodes of General Hospital while winding floss on bobbins.
Then out came my mp3 player and am over halfway through Sundays At Tiffany's by James Patterson. It is a quick read and caught my attention from the begining. There are 3 characters that really need to be slapped. I also was stitching on a RR. This one is Sylvia's with the Vermillion snowmen freebies from last year. I will not mention what month I am doing :-)

I want to thank Andrea. The bat charms that you sent me came in the mail and I love the beaded snowflake ornaments. They are so pretty.

Thanks to everyone who has been reading my blog and leaving comments, I appreciate you all.

I still need to have DS#2 draw a name for the giveaway. He has poison ivy so I don't get to close to him right now :-) I love him but I don't want it.

Thank you

to everyone that has been reading and commenting. It is nice to know that I am not the only one who goes through things.

Today was busy at work. When I left the house I stopped for my morning coffee. I am not a big coffee drinker but our local Java has the best kind of coffee. Plus Scott works 3rd shift and I work days. he is justing coming through time when I am leaving for work so we meet every morning for 20-30 minutes and sit and have coffee and sometimes breakfast. Well this morning I got my cup and filled it. I was putting the lid on and spilled the whole cup on the counter. I felt like an idiot but Scott and Chris, who was working laughed it off and helped clean it up. The rest of the day went much better.

I have been reading Kitty Takes a Holiday by Carrie Vaughn and am about 3/4 of the way through it. It is pretty good. I liked the first 2 in this series.
Tonight I stitched on Chris's RR while watching Bones and then Private Practice.

Stitching & reading

I had a busy day at work today. Picked Dylan up from Driver's Ed and then took him to paint the garage/barn that he has been doing. Came home to read emails, BBs and blogs.
Sat down and started Kitty takes a Holiday by Carrie Vaughn. I like it already and did enjoy the first 2 books of this series.
Then I sat and stitched on a RR and finished it while watching General hospital and True Blood.

I want to thank all of you who have read my blog and left comments. I can't tell you how much it means to me.
My next finishing weekend will be November 15th and 16th. I wanted to do the 1st but Scott's birthday is October 31st and not sure if we are celebrating then or on the 1st. I have a book meeting on November 8th so that makes the 15th & 16th available. Anyone want to join in online or at my house? I will call these weekends FALs. Which was Ruth's idea :-)
