Simple Special Stunning - December '09

The purpose of "Simple Special Stunning" is to show how each issue of SheetLoad can be adapted for papercrafters of all levels. Whether it is sticking exactly to the sketch, or adding some extra bling.

This cards in this month's edition were created by Denise Wallace and feature the sketch from our December '09 issueof SheetLoad of Cards.




• Followed sketch, but only used one (1) cardstock and patterned paper for everything else.




• Sponged all edges with Stampin' Up! Close to Cocoa ink
• Added shrink plastic sentiment
• Added vellum swirls around the bow
• 'Fluff' was added to Santa's cap and some sparkle to his beard





• In addition to all of the 'special' additions pearl flourishes and faux snow on the snowflake were added.
**To make the pearl flourishes, Denise placed them on a transparency, cut them out, then adhered to the card.

November '09 - Simple Special Stunning


The purpose of "Simple Special Stunning" is to show how each issue of SheetLoad can be adapted for papercrafters of all levels. Whether it is sticking exactly to the sketch, or adding some extra bling.

This cards in this month's edition were created by Ann Seleshanko and feature the sketch from our November '09 issue of SheetLoad of Cards.





• Used rub-on stitches





• Used sewing maching
• Inked the edges
• Used markers, instead of colored pencils, to bright the image







• Used a ShortCuts clear sheet for the card base
• Added the holly as a photo corner
• Used Stickles to color in the image
• Colored and cut out a 2nd set of Santas and adhered with glue dots for dimension
• Used American Crafts Thickers and sewed a bit more

Simple Special Stunning - October '09

The purpose of "Simple Special Stunning" is to show how each issue of SheetLoad can be adapted for papercrafters of all levels. Whether it is sticking exactly to the sketch, or adding some extra bling.

This month's cards were created by Katie Skiff and feature the sketch from our October '09 issue of SheetLoad of Cards.








• Matted the designer paper on layers of cardstock
• Changed PP3 to cardstock and added some ribbon and a bow
• To jazz up the main panel a scalloped cardstock mat was added




• Added a different piece of ribbon for some extra pattern
• Cut out the main image panel with a Nestabilities die from Spellbinders
• Embossed the red mat with Glassy Glaze to match the sparkle on the designer paper
• Used snowflake ghost shapes by Heidi Swapp for more embellishments

All very simple additions... each making the card more attractive.

Simple Special Stunning - September '09

Today's cards were created by Liz Weber and feature the sketch from our September '09 issue of SheetLoad of Cards.











• Used a scalloped circle and a Cuttlebug embossing folder to add texture
• Colored in the digital stamp image





• Embossed and sanded the scalloped circle, as well as the smaller piece of cardstock.
• Added some gorgeous Prima 'Say It in Pearls'
• Added ribbon behind the sentiment circle die cut and a pearl strip around the edge
• Created 'scenery' for her image by coloring grass and sky

Simple Special Stunning - August '09

The purpose of "Simple Special Stunning" is to show how each issue of SheetLoad can be adapted for papercrafters of all levels. Whether it is sticking exactly to the sketch, or adding some extra bling.

Today's cards were created by Barbara DeBose and feature the sketch from our August '09 issue of SheetLoad of Cards.






• All mat layers are scalloped on all edges
• Balloons are punched from patterned paper and adhered with 3D foam tape
• The oval is embossed with a distressed ink sky





• A Clear Card Blank from ShortCuts was used.
• Balloons are buttons stitched on with matching thread
• The embossed oval has a scalloped mat
• A two-tone sky and landscape are added to the embossed oval
• Ribbon is tied into a bow
• The sentiment is stamped in a more prominent color onto a tag distressed with ink that is tied to the ribbon with hemp fiber
• Scalloped mats have been added to the squares
• The middle layer mat is narrower and has a larger scalloped top and bottom

Simple Special Stunning - July '09

The purpose of "Simple Special Stunning" is to show how each issue of SheetLoad can be adapted for papercrafters of all levels. Whether it is sticking exactly to the sketch, or adding some extra bling.

Today's cards were created by Jessica George and feature the sketch from our July '09 issue of SheetLoad of Cards and the April Showers digital stamp from Squigglefly.








• There are more layers, with the matting, on this card.
• Umbrella is cut out and pop-dotted to add a 3-D effect.
• Prima flowers are layered to coordinate with all colors featured.




• A Clear Card Blank from ShortCuts was used.
• The image was cut out and mounted on coordinating white cardstock, so Rain Dots could be used in place of the drops on the digital image.
• Patterned paper layer is hand-cut and the sentiment is stamped onto a tag.
• The umbrella is popped up and the Primas are layered as in the "Special Card" above.

Simple Special Stunning - June '09

It is time for our first installment of "Simple Special Stunning"!!

The purpose of this new feature is to show how each issue of SheetLoad can be adapted for papercrafters of all levels. Whether it is sticking exactly to the sketch, or adding some extra bling.

Today's cards feature the sketch from our June '09 issue of SheetLoad of Cards.

• Replaced the PP2 strip with a strip of a ShortCuts Clear Full Sheet.
• Added a strip of blue patterned paper to the inside of the card; that can be seen from the front.
• Trimmed out stamped image.
• Added a sentiment to the front.
• Used Dimensionals behind the sunglasses.
• Put gems on the Anya's headband.
• Used my Creative Memories Curvy Trimmer for a "wave effect" on the clear strip and patterned paper inside the card.







• Used a Clear Card Blank from ShortCuts**.
• Stamped on the clear base with Opaque White StazOn for an "etched glass effect".
• Used a Sakura glitter pen to add sparkle to her hair and swimsuit.
• Used "Bride's" shiny paper flowers on the front and added gems to the centers.
• Created a mini card inside for writing a note that can't be seen from the front.
