Hi guys! I'm very minimal with makeup these days but still love me at least a few beauty products per day :D Thought I share my early summer favourites with you guys:
Lip Products
My favourite category!! Summer is the only season where I actually wear lipgloss. I love Nars Babe as it's a gorgeous pigmented warm red gloss and is not sticky. Another rediscovery is my ancient MAC Sock Hop (LE - Heatherette, 2008) which is a beautiful light coral cream. When it comes to lipsticks, I also go for warmer and creamier. Guerlain Rose Bengal Rouge Automatique is a warm rose that applies with some shimmer but is not gritty. Chanel Antigone Rouge Coco Shine is a lightly pigmented strawberry red and MUFE #37 Rouge Artist is a loud pink coral that will definitely make your lips stand out.

Eye Products
I'm currently a fan of one product only eye makeup and hence gravitate towards cream shadows and bright eyeliners. L'Oreal Permanent Khaki Colour Infalliable is a shimmery olive green that is great as a lid colour blended up. Maybelline Barely Branded Color Tattoo (light golden beige) is an awesome all over colour and eye brightener. Chanel Illusoire Illusion d'Ombre is a tres chic sparkling mauve, love this one smoked out with a dark matte purple for the night. Shiseido H4 cream shadow (DC'd) is a unique blend of warm pink with green flash that looks wet when applied to the eyes. MUFE #22 aqua cream pot is the most gorgeous emerald green that I love applying on as a liner, base for green shadow or for the sparkling Lise Watier Golden Green Eye Glitter. I tend to apply Gosh Blue Lagoon Velvet Touch eyeliner on my lower lashline to elevate a neutral look.

Face Products
I'm super low maintenance with face products in the warmer months. Lately been loving my Lancome Teint Miracle foundation (I use shade 4C - Buff) as it's light and natural on. I also apply MUFE Full Cover concealer ins shade #6 under my eyes and on scars and go a bit overload with Nars Laguna bronzer (another rediscovery in my stash). I need to bronze a lot these days as I did a spray tan on my body and now my face and body don't match, lol!
Nail Products
I'm traditional so in the summer I go nuts over brights and neons. I've also been loving a full on white manicure using OPI Alpine Snow, so elegant and goes with everything. My current fave neons are Zoya Lola (gorgeous bright pink) and China Glaze I'm with the Lifeguard (super neon green, great on toes). I also enjoy the bright orange red that is Essie Meet me at the Sunset.

Happy Sunday beauties! This was a super productive weekend again for me. I got a tone of baby stuff done and also spend quality time with hubs, my folks and also close friends. Got nice and recharged for another week of work!
I was sending out a package at the Canada Post in Shoppers when I noticed that they have a few Gosh items on sale. Gosh is one of my favourite drugstore brands especially for their eye liners, lip liners and lipsticks. I gotta say my biggest weakness is their Gosh Velvet Touch Eyeliner. If I see them on sale, I always snag a few:

If you've been following BeautySpot for a while, you may have noticed that I routinely use the Gosh liners on my lower lashline and even as base for eyeshadow. I love that they draw a smooth line effortlessly, are pigmented in one stroke, last 7-8 hours on me AND are waterproof.
Let's just say I'm a fan, and on $7.00CAD each I couldn't resist but grab five of them:
Left to right (NW25 skintone): Copper Girl, Girl Power, Green Devil, Blue Lagoon, Ice Blue
Copper Girl - medium copper shade, lighter than UD Copper
Girl Power - shimmery bunt orange, not sure how I'd wear it yet but I like :D
Green Divil - gorgeous deep grassy green, the smoothest one in the bunch
Blue Lagoon - creamy bright teal, sooo beautiful!
Ice Blue - very light silvery blue on me, will probably be great in tearduct area

I'm in a pretty bad mood as I had some less than perfect experience at my site inspection today so this is gonna be a quick post. I did a green and peachy look and loved the result. More than anything I liked the lip combo. You guys have got to try it!

I had a relatively stress free day at work for a change so I feel happy and hyper. I did a look this morning using my new Annabelle Blue Hue trio which is one of my fave Annabelle items ever! As I mentioned in my review, I like how the three colours compliment each other and obviously as a blue/teal lover I was pretty happy with the shades as well.
Hope everyone's Monday was great! Time to start my workout and then get into relaxation mode!

I want'ed to also do a review of my new Stila Jewel palette but it's been very cloudy since the weekend and I haven't been able to take good pics. I'm hoping I can get it done this weekend.

For my first day at work, I went for a subtle yet colourful look. I was incredibly sleepy all day due to being used to more sleep during the holidays but I will manage. How is everyone else doing with being back to reality? lol!
For this new year, I'm planing on adding more features to my blog. For example I want to do a "Fave Post of the Week" every Sunday from different blogs I'm following. I also noticed that I now have 90 followers so I'm hoping to reach 100 this month for my big giveaway. I have already started setting goodies away for that ;)

I did this simple glittery eye makeup yesterday for a random trip to the mall. I had yesterday off and spent it mostly shopping and watching movies. I went in to work for about 4 hours today and tomorrow I will be working for 2 hours, after that it's NYE celebration baby! I've been thinking about my NYE makeup and have a few ideas but haven't decided yet. I know I will be wearing a red dress though and I'm excited about it!
Is anyone going out for NYE? Do you know what makeup you're makeup you're doing and what you'll be wearing.
Also Tip of the Day: I figured an easier way to apply my glitter too. I used to put a drop of gel mm and glitter on the back of my hand, mixing them and then applying them on my lid with the brush. My new way is to dab the gel mm with my finger to the lid and then apply the glitter with the brush. If you work fast this is the most efficient way; you won't be dragging the glitter and ruining the eyeshadow underneath.

We're having high and fast winds and a super cold day in Ottawa; it's about -25 right now. I finally set up our tree last night but didn't get to finish the decoration. I've been having this consistent headache that puts me in a bad mood so I don't feel like doing much with my time but lying down. I am excited about our tree though. The house smells amazing, just like pine and I love the scent of pine.
Anyway, I did a warm combo to help fight the cold blues. I must have done something like this before but i used some of my new gooudies this time. Hope you like :)

We had a snow storm today in the capital and got dumped on by 20 cm of the white stuff. I was actually up early and was able to do my makeup after a few days of just liner and mascara. I'm still incredibly busy at work, I also have no idea how long this workload will last. I'm guessing until the holidays. In the meantime I'm double booked for my site inspections tomorrow and will prob just get to one of the places late :/
Anyway, I'm not really feeling this look but I thought I post it anyway. First of all I hate how MAC's foundation always look too pale under flash! This foundation is the perfect match for me under natural lighting. Also, I'm still not a huge fan of warmer tones I myself, so I'm not feeling this yellow and brown combo. I would have probably reached for silvers and blues but I also have this side of me that wants to experiment with different colour combos all the time. To make it worse, I'm hating the hot pink on the lower lashline :/ I tried to salvage it by adding a violet eyeliner but nope.....and then I was late and had to leave!

I definitely preferred to blog during my lunch time, this is just not fair! Most of the time I don't want to be on the computer when I get home but I guess now I have no choice.
Here's the third look in a row, lol! And again I have used the flash as it's been raining since Sunday. I'm trying out some new colour placement so please let me know what you think. Also, I tried my OCC tars and boy these are pigmented! You really just need a tiny bit; I officially regret not getting more of these from IMATS. I used 2 parts Plum and one part Pageant as I wanted a darker plummy colour. Also, the lips swatch looks a little bit messed up as I dabbed on in a flash and left the house, should have been more careful :(

haha, today is Friday the 13th!! I guess I'm gonna try to find a scary movie and watch it tonight. I hardly find any movie scary, except maybe the Spanish movie called Orphanage. If you guys haven't seen that one, make sure you do. It freaked me out so much I still don't dare thinking about it. Other scary movies though I just find lame...
Anyone have special plans this weekend? The hubby and I are prob spending some time setting up the new surround sound system we just got (well, hubby got it for his b-day). We're also going to a new all you can eat Sushi restaurant tomorrow night. I also need to finalize my wishlist for IMATS, I am so excited about that part. Anyway, I took this look from Sephora,

I opted for soft purple eyes and dark burgundy lips. I'm wearing sorta matchy nails too (OPI Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not), too bad I forgot to take a picture of those. I'm very happy that it's already Thursday. This week has been a little slow for me in the office but I don't mind coz I know the next two weeks are gonna be crazy. It's ok to not be running around all the time. The weather is also nice today; cool but sunny. I might get the hubby to go for a quick happy hour after work.

I had some awesome hauling yesterday which I will post about when I get home tonight. Right now I'm gonna quickly post my look and get to work coz there are tones of things to be done in the office today before the weekend. What are everyone's plans for this weekend? The hubby and I have his entire family plus mine over for brunch on Sunday. So we're probably gonna take it easy on Saturday and relax and maybe go downtown for a couple of martinis and jazz.
