As a busty woman, I find some trends hard to pull off: plunging necklines, backless dressed, anything babydoll, side cleavage,....even simple things like well fitting a button down shirt is hard to find for someone who wears a 32F! One of the trends I really wanted to try is the peplum trend and I was determined to find one that would look good on me.
Last weekend while browsing the Bay, I came across this number by I.N.C International Concepts and my search finally came to an end :)
I love that the peplum bit isn't too structured so it doesn't add anymore to my hips. The top itself is very flattering on anyone despite their bust size. I also love the skinny bow belt; it's so feminine and cute! I picked it up and wore it the next day to a family lunch party. You can't really see in in pic but I'm wearing a black interlock skirt by American Apparel as well as one of their fishnet style tights:
This is another outfit post from yesterday. I always forget to take outfit pictures!! The lace white top is by Banana Republic, skirt is American Apparel (damn I do own too many of their skirts) and the over the knee camel boots are by Aldo. I threw a light leather jacket by Danier over it as it's still a bit chilly here. Also, not that you can really see them, but I'm also wearing drop blue earring by Expression brand from the Bay. They have awesome trendy jewellery and the price is right too:
October 1, 2012
I cannot believe that it's already October! Although change of season is very apparent where I live; the leaves have started to turn yellow and we are now at a high of 15 deg during daytime.
Fall makeup for me means darker lips and darker eyes. Since the last few FOTD's have focused on the lips, I made this one all about the eyes with smokey greens using Naked Cosmetics Ebony stack. I bought the stacks at IMATS 3 years ago or so and haven't used them in a bit. They are gorgeous smokey shades but perform much better damp and over a cream base (in this case MUFE aqua cream pot).
I usually do purple/burgundy smokey eyes as those shades look great on amber/hazel eyes like mine. But thought it'd be a nice change to use green. Hope you guys like this :)

Hey lovelies! I've been feeling the slightly smokey eyes with bold lips these days so this look might seem a "little" familiar, lol! This time I used the Naked palette (which is probably my best makeup purchase to date) and Woo Me Kissable Lip Colour. I love the formula of these kissable lipsticks as you might have heard me say before. Woo Me is my fave outta the ones I have due to my having a soft spot for the vamp family of colours.
Hope you guys like this look.

Outfit of the day was a one shoulder cream dress from American Apparel, ruffled gray sweater from Le Chateau, tights from Nine West and gray boots from Guess. Oh, one of the guys in my office calls my boots "Pirate Boots", lol! Men know nothing really :/ sucks that I'm stuck working with men all day...

Hey lovelies, hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I've decided to show you my top 5 nail polishes in various colour categories starting today. I was inspired to do this when I was going through my nail polish stash yesterday. I didn't even count the polishes, just reorganized them for the season. I remember the last time I counted them was 2 years ago and I had 90 bottles :/ and obviousely many more have been added since, I think the number is closer to 150 now. I just loooove nail polishes though; I change my nail colour everyday to reflect my mood. I can go without makeup but naked nails means naked me, lol!
For the first installment of favourite polishes, I have chosen my top 5 vamp, nude and gray/taupe polishes. All shades are described from left to right (in the picture).
1. Top 5 Vampy Polishes - vampy shades are by far my favourite colour of nail polish and hence fall is my fave nail polish season. I consider anything dark vamp, lol! So this category is multi-coloured, but all with a somber mood.
OPI Yes I Can Can - my all time most worn dark nail polish. There's no dark burgundy like this cream finish perfection.
Zoya Casey - The most gorgeous super dark burgundy brown. Looks gorge with my skintone.
Essie Sexy Divide - this is the dark purple perfection. Slight shimmer and smooth application; I have an NOTD here.
Chanel Paradoxal - this is more of a trendy gray purple. Very unique and always a conversation starter. You can see my NOTD here.
Orly Galaxy Girl - Another non-traditional vamp. This is a dark red brown with blue reflects, as seen in this post. Gotta love Orly's nail innovation.
2. Top 5 Nude/Natural Polishes - the nude and neutral shades are forever classy. I prefer the more unique ones that have a hint of taupe, gray than the band-aid look.
OPI Time-less is more - this is actually a pale white, not a chalkboard shade. The name perfectly describes the colour. Click here to see my swatch.
American Apparel California Topper - This is a gorgeous gray toned nude. Lovely in all seasons.
$OPI - Going Nude, eh? This is similar to the APP but warmer and lighter.
OPI Tickle My France-y - My all time most worn nude, what an elegant and ladylike shade.
Orly Country Club Khaki - lovely lovely light taupe nude. Excellent application.
3. Top 5 Gray/Taupe Polishes - this types of shades has been trendy since OPI released You Don't Know Jacques with their France Collection back in 2008.
Color Club Jewel of a Girl - My go-to light gray. Since I own a lot of gray clothing, this gets used a lot.
Color Club Snakeskin - a warmer and deeper gray, bordering taupe.
OPI You Don't Know Jacques - you probably all own this, if not you should! Def an OPI classic by now.
China Glaze Ingrid - I adore this dark taupe because of the tiny gold flecks. Looks amazing when the sun hits it. See here for swatch.
MAC Earthy Harmony - the perfect "conservative" colour that is still trendy. Click here for my swatch.
Hope you guys enjoyed this post. I will post the rest of the colours in sequence this week and the next. What are some of your fave polishes in colour categores listed?

Hey lovelies! I fixed my hair a bit this past weekend; cut my bangs again and did shorter layers. My longer bangs were driving me nuts, always in my eyes, lol! So I was motivated to do a pretty FOTD today. Since I hadn't used my purples in a bit I grabbed my go-to purple duo, Nars Jolie Poupee duo, and paired it with purpley pink lips. I don't usually do an all out purple look but this was fun. I'm also testing my Nars Copacabana Illuminator and so far loooooove it! Gonna do a review for you guys next week :)
Anyway, hope you like this look. Blogging will be my getaway this week as I'm working over 10-hours per day these days. I barely feel human anymore, booo :/

February 26, 2011
Hey lovelies! I'm back from the one week long busines trip to Quebec City. While I was there, it was 95% work and only 5% play. I didn't realloy wear much makeup and so it feels so good to be back home.
I changed my nail colur last night from my usual vampy shades to American Apparel Butter, a pastel yellow. This is a beautiful shade of yellow but allas with my cooler undertones, it just totally clashes :( It makes my hands my redder than they actually are just coz of the contrast with my undertones. I also had a bit of application issues and found this polish really bubbles. This is the first time I've had bubbling issues with AA polishes so I'm not going to write them all off just yet.
Here's a swatch of Butter on my nails. I used two coats. Again, lovely shade, not the best on my skintone (NW25):
I also picked up a bottle of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation today. I've used a couples of samples of this and loved it enough to go back for a full bottle. I'm such a foundation addict! Full review of Vitalumiere Aqua will be posted within the next couple of weeks :)
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Hey guys! As mentioned in my last blog post, I decided to show you my clothing and makeup haul from this past weekend. Hubby treated me to a birthday shopping trip in Montreal and I took full advantage of it. Here's the lot:
1. Cosmetics:
You didn't believe me when I said I was on no-buy, right? I know, I can't stay away too long, lol! I picked up Nars Nouveau Monde eyeshadow duo (gorgeous lilac and bonzey green) and Baroque glossy velvet pencil (New for Spring, soft raspberry shade) from the Nars counter. I also found a new foundation HG in Lancome Teint Miracle (shade Buff 4C). I am in LOVE with this foundation. Look for review late this week!
2. Bedo
I have mentioned before in my blog that I love Bedo and their attention to details in clothing. I always want everything when I go in their stores, lol! Here's what I picked up this time:
I love this sheer mini dress as it's not really bare, just has interest coz of the mesh overlay. This dress fits like a glove and very flattering on my body.
I actually don't usually buy pants unless by necessity. I just much prefer dresses and skirts on myself. I love the shape of this taupe number though; they are high-waisted and hug and accentuated my wait. Two thumbs up!
I love ruffles as I like feminine shapes but they don't always work on my bigger chest. This sheer white top looks adorable on coz of the placing of the ruffles. Love!
This is the cutest satiny mini skirt and I just adore the happy pattern on it. I will wear it in the winter with black turtle neck and leggings and switch to black tank top and sandals combo in the summer.
3. American Apparel
I love the simple cuts of American Apparel and the quality of their knitting. Everything I get from this store lasts me forever. I picked up this one shoulder cream stretch dress this time. It looks equally adorable with gold sandals and brown over the knee boots.
4. Mango
When I go shopping, I pay close attention to how clothing fit around the waist. I'm all about embracing my feminine figure so I look for draping details in the area. This red dress from Mango (it's more of a true red than shown in the pic, this was a cloudy day), does just that. It's a unique cut and I'm planing on actually wearing it to my friend's wedding this weekend.
5. Forever21
I love looking for cute pieces in Forever21. I usually come out of this store with my hands full of bags, haha! I especially like their spring and summer pieces. My forever21 haul:
This was a cute form fitting little dress and I couldn't resist it. After black and red, blush shades are my favourites so this light pink number was right down my alley.
Same way I love my lace and leather fabrics in cooler months, I live in nautical inspired pieces every single spring. I cannot count how many striped tops/dresses I have but I picked up another one :D This red striped T makes me happy! Oh and the white t-shirt was only $6 so I thought why not.
Here you have it. I also received two pairs of shoes from Nine West as birthday gift from family but I will feature them in my looks later. Hope you guys enjoyed this post :)

Hey lovelies! Welcome the first edition of monthly faves for 2011! I've been loving a lot of products this month so I had a hard time picking up my absolute bests. Here's the final 5 though:
1. Chanel Ombres Perlees - I am in love with this new Chanel quint! I had never before used Chanel eyeshadows (only their face and lip products) and I am so happy with this purchase. All 5 eyeshadows have a very pearly finish and look so polished and sophisticated on the lids. I mix and match these shades with matte finish eyshadows for the best result. Big love!
2. MAC Saffron eyeshadow - this was a limited edition from Mickey Contractor. Saffron has a satin finish and is a red toned orange on my lids. It applies very pigmented and does a great job of making my hazelish eyes pop. Great job MAC!
3. Makeup Forever Gold Metal #3 - this is an amazing green gold pigment. The pigment particles are very small and make this shade go on like butter! I have been wearing Gold Metal #3 with other greens and golds in my stash and loving it even more after every use.
4. MAC Vanity Fair Kissable Lip Colour - This barbie pink lipstick is a fave coz it's easy to apply and lasts through meals and kisses. If you're a fan of Snob, Pink Nouveau or St Germain, you will also like Vanity Fair. It's a very wearable and elegant pink on my skintone.
5. American Apparel California Toppin nail polish - ok, I'm a big fan of American Apparel in general. But their nail polishes are something else. They have amazing classic as well as trendy shades and their formula is excellent. I've been reaching for this nude gray shade particularly this past month but all their shades are love.
Do you have any of the mentioned products? What beauty products made it to the top of your Jan fave list?

December 29, 2010
Hey lovelies! Like most women out there, I really enjoy shopping! I don't usually venture to the mall on the busiest day for shopping, Boxing Day. This year though, I wanted to check out MAC Cham Pale collection out on Dec 26 so even though I was sick, I still made it to the mall. Hubby generously dropped me off and then picked me up so I wouldn't deal with the driving and finding parking.
While I was in the mall, I picked up some other things as well. Here's the lot:
I got Chez Chez Lame special powder from Cham Pale. This is a gorgeous highlighter (well at least on me). I have a feeling it will get a tone of use from me. I also got Dark Diversion f/l from Stylishly Yours collex. It's a nice dark burgundy shade. I love this types of colours on my eyes so I grabbed it. I also got two samples of F&B foundation in N2 and N3. N3 ended up being too dark on me now but N2 is a good match. I will report in more details later. After that I swung by Nars to get a new bottle of Sheer Glow foundation. This time around I picked up shade Santa Fe. Weirdly enough, Santa Fe is lighter than Fiji but also less yellow so it matches me much better at the moment.
From Winners, I picked up the last set of Color Club Untamed Luxury for only $12CAD! Score! I love Color Club but their stuff is so hard to find in Canada. I also got 3 nail polishes from American Apparel: Calfornia Trooper, Butter and Dynasty.
I picked up a cranberry coloured interlocked pencil skirt from American Apparel (they had 20% off sale) while I was there. I practically live in pencil skirts. I think I have maybe 3 skirts that are not pencil style, lol! This one is very comfortable and I love the colour!
I went into Club Monaco which was having 50% on all sales items and got a pair of pinstriped charcoal dress pants and a cashmere blend beige v-neck sweater. These are just some basic items that were on my list for a while.
Last but not least, I picked up these camel coloured over the knee boots from Aldo. I haven't shopped at Aldo in years but I was looking for similar boots and they were the only place that had them. They're 100% leather but pinch like no tomorrow! Do you guys know how I can solve this? They're not small just a bit hard I guess. I might have to return then if I cant make them work :(
Did you get to the mall on Boxing Day? Share your hauls and thoughts in comments.
