Welcome Baby

Happy Friday!

Whew! So glad that it is Friday!
I made a card for a friend who is about to have a baby. It's a girl and I am so excited for them. Her nursery is yellow and pink, so I tried to stay with those colors.
I made the card base in Make-the-Cut with basic shapes. I am sharing it below. It measures 5.5" wide x 6.8" tall. The elephant was sized at 2" tall. I replaced the heart in the svg file with the medium stitched heart layering die. It end up being about the right size and I like the stitched effect.
Paper: PaperTrey Ink & Echo Park
Elephant SVG: Lettering Delights, Sweet Nothings
Scalloped Card Base: Designed in MTC with basic shapes, Freebie (see below)
Heart Die: My Creative Time, Stitched Heart Layering Dies
Banner Die: My Creative Time, Chocolate Greetings Stamp Set

Sweet Wishes

Happy Thursday!

I have a real quick post for you today. I made this shaped card for a friend.
I sized the cupcake at 3.8" tall. Then I created a  .1425 shadow layer around it (the white layer) then I created a shadow layer around that layer and then took two of them and welded them together at the top. The finished card base measures 3.8" x 8.5". I replaced the heart on top of the cupcake with the medium heart from the Stitched Heart Layering dies.
Paper: PaperTrey Ink, Carte Bella
Cupcake Cake SVG: Lettering Delights, Cloud Nine
Heart Die: M Creative Time, Stitched Heart Layering Dies
Banner Die: My Creative Time, Chocolate Greetings Stamp Set
Sentiment: My Creative Time, Chocolate Greetings Stamp Set
Twine: Trendy Twine, Water Mellon Taffy

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Turkey Time

Happy Tuesday!

I have a quick shaped card for you today.
Shaped cards are relatively simple to make. While working in Make-the-Cut, SCAL, or Silhouette Studio you take the shape or shapes that you want to use, create a shadow layer around them, and then weld two of the shadow layers together to make the base of your card.

There is a video tutorial below, showing how.
Papers: PaperTrey Ink & Core'dinations
Turkey svg: Lettering Delights, Stuffing Stitchy
Sentiment: My Creative Time, Piles of Smiles
Hemp Twine: Liz's Paper Loft Boutique

Here is a video tutorial showing how to make a shaped card.

Today is Technique Tuesday on the MCT blog!
Head on over for some fun techniques!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Dia de los Muertos

Happy Thursday!

Today is "Dia de los Muertos" or "Day of the Dead"  it is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It is particularly celebrated in Mexico, where it is a national holiday. The celebration takes place on November 1, in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day (November 2). Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skullsmarigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed and visiting graves with these as gifts. They also leave possessions of the deceased.

Although, I do not celebrate Dia de los Muertos, I have friends who do. I thought it would be fun to create Day of the Dead cards for them. Both cards were made with the Silhouette's print and cut feature.
The base of this card is from the Cricut Wild Card Cartridge. The yellow polka dot paper, the skull, and the banner are all graphic files from Lettering Delights.
The base of this card is a top note shape that I found online and converted into a svg and then into a card. The diamond paper, cat, and banner are all graphic files from Lettering Delights. I just love the white stitching on the black, don't you?
Card base: Cricut, Wild Card Cartridge
Skull & Banner Graphics: Lettering Delights, Sugar Skull Graphic set
Digital paper: Lettering Delights, Sugar Skull Paper
Card stock: DCWV and Recollection's
Crinkle Ribbon: Etsy

Card base: Top note shape welded together to make a card.
Cat & Banner Graphics: Lettering Delights, Sugar Skull Graphic set
Digital paper: Lettering Delights, Curiouser and Curiouser
Card stock: Recollection's

Although I love how both these cards turned out, I am still not a huge fan of the "print and cut" feature. It's a huge time saver and really easy to do, but I really like choosing the colors of the cuts and piecing the pieces together. I *heart* paper to much to be just a "print and cut" girl. :) I will say, that digital papers rock! Ah! One more thing to put on my "wish list".

Guess what!?!
Tomorrow is Friday! WooHoo!

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Happy Halloweenie!

Happy Tuesday!

So  I have to say right off that I am not in love with this card. I love the ribbon, love the witch, love the sentiment, but I just had the worst time trying to create a card. In-fact I was told not to even post it, but I wanted to show you that I have "bad card days" too. :)
The frame behind the witch measures 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". The witch is 3" tall.

I actually learned this glitter technique from Joy at Obsessed with Scrapbooking. I made a tutorial video showing how to do it.

Let me know if you have any questions!

So... back to the card.

I found this ribbon at Michael's, I love it.
Frame SVG: Lettering Delights
Witch SVG: Lori Whitlock
Papers: PaperTrey Ink and Core'dinations
Ribbon: Michael's
Sentiment: My Creative Time, All Around Halloween stamp set
Glitter: Martha Stewart, black

Also...

Emma at My Creative Time is starting a fun new thing on her blog today. Tuesday's are now known as "Show Me Your Technique" Tuesday. Each week 3 of the My Creative Time designers will be sharing a new technique. This weeks designer's are:

Amy

Cassandra

Cathryn

I can't wait to see what fun techniques they have come up with.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Happliy Ever After!

Happy Friday!

Can you believe that it is already August 1st!?!  Where the heck has the summer gone? I had so much that I wanted to accomplish and sadly, I don't think even a third of my list has been completed. Oh well... there is always going to be something to do, right?

I made this card for a friend of mine. She saw my Super Hero card and asked if I could make her one, just minus the super hero vibe. :)
I love how it turned out with the plaid paper. I also added the small heart to balance out the sentiment. I really like how this card turned out, my friend loved it too.
For this card I used the following items:
Papers: PaperTrey Ink and Echo Park's Happy Day's Collection
This set can only be purchased during the "check out" process. Put something into your cart and then do the checkout process and LD will give you the option to purchase this set.  You can delete whatever is in your cart and just purchase this set. (Irritating, I know.)
Heart SVG: Free shape in Make-the-Cut
White Pen: Sakura Gelly Roll, Med.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Super Hero Blog Hop!

Happy Friday!

Welcome to the Super Hero blog hop! I am the last stop on the hop, so if you have arrived from  Amanda's blog you are in the right place! If you would like to start at the beginning of the hop, click here.

With all the "super hero" movie's coming out, we thought it would be fun to have a hop dedicated to showing some fun "super hero" crafty ideas.

My first project was made with Jaded Blossom's newest stamp set called, Super Hero.
I thought it would be fun to make a kids card. I am also trying to make more "boy" themed cards. These seem to be harder to make for some reason.
For this card I used the following items:
Papers: PaperTrey Ink, Core'dinations, and BoBunny's Blast Off Collection
Sentiment stamp: Jaded Blossom's, Super Hero Stamp Set
Super Bear SVG: Jonathan's Bears SVG Collection

Top Note shape SVG: Cheryl's Cute Bugs SVG Kit
White Pen: Sakura Gelly Roll, Med.

My second card is one of my most favorite cards, ever.
When I saw this SVG I knew exactly what I want to make with it. I love how it turned out. Hehehe!

For this card I used the following items:
Papers: PaperTrey Ink and Core'dinations
This set can only be purchased during the "check out" process. Put something into your cart and then do the checkout process and LD will give you the option to purchase this set.  You can delete whatever is in your cart and just purchase this set. (Irritating, I know.)
Shield shape SVG: Made with free shapes in Make-the-Cut.
White Pen: Sakura Gelly Roll, Med.
