Carla's Selvage Chicken!

Carla of http://www.featheredfibers.wordpress.com/ made this funky selvage chicken. Apropriately so, since chickens are her trademark. Be sure to see her blog, especially if you love to admire gorgeous machine quilting!!

We'll be keeping an eye out for Carla's selvage creations; she has recently been given a boatload of selvages! Lucky chicken!

Martina's Christmas Angel

Martina also made this Christmas decoration using some of her Christmas selvages. She held a drawing on her blog and it was given to one of her readers. What a pretty little angel charm!

Helen's Little Selvage Stocking

Helen Wolf of Doylestown, PA made this sweet selvage stocking. Just remember, if you whip up a couple of these little ornaments, you might get hooked and have to make a pile of selvage quilts. If that happens, we're here for you.

Charming Selvage Needle Case

This delightful Victorian style needle case was made by my friend Barbara Harrison of Doylestown, PA. It's reversible; with her favorite colors, raspberry and acid green cheater crazy cloth on one side, and selvages on the other. I like the tiny pink rick-rack and the little flower shaped buttons. This will also serve as a Christmas tree ornament for a Victorian themed tree at the Pearl S. Buck museum.

Selvage Ornament by Helen Wolf

Are you looking for a handmade Christmas gift idea for your quilting friends? Look at what Helen Wolf came up with! Yes, she is the one who made the selvage socks. (see Archives)

This little stocking measures about 4 1/2" from the red stitch holding the ribbon in place, to the tip of the toe. The sock doesn't open at the top. The backing is green. How cute is this?

I think this ornament would be a great quilt studio decoration year-round:)
