Veronica's Selvage Christmas Card/Ornament

Veronica from Spain made her Christmas cards with selvages this year! What a wonderful idea. It looks like you can take the ornament off the card and put it on your tree also.

You've seen her selvage spider web quilt and selvage bag here before. She has some tutorials for making bags on her blog: Las Cosas de Vero. Feliz Navidad, Veronica!

Meet Chelo from Spain!

Chelo from Madrid, Spain made this beautiful collection of selvagey items: a rotary cutter case, a small sewing case, a bag for larger items, and a cushion for one of her porch chairs. She's going to make more cushions for her chairs, and she has five!
.
Can you imagine if Chelo from Spain, Jill from New Jersey, and Jodie from Ballarat (Australia) were neighbors? No, I can't either! All together they've made upholstered chairs, window cornices, dresses, and lots more, all with selvages. I guess that's why God spread them out around the world.

Selvage Pin Cushion from Spain!

Sylvia Reguero of Malaga, Spain made this creative selvage pin cushion. It looks like the ends are tied tighter in the top photo, and looser in the bottom photo. I wonder if she ties it around her wrist sometimes. Very nice job, Sylvia! Muchisimi! (Sylvia taught me that word via email; it means very very nice.)
My grandmother from Lithuania used to like to tie fabrics (scarves, packages, clothes etc). I think Sylvia and Grandma would have been on the same page. :) I used to watch her sew and cook and garden. I hope you grandmothers out there have lots of fun with your grandkids this summer. Awww. What memories.

Selvage Bag from Spain

Sylvia Reguero from Málaga, Spain made this handsome little selvage bag. Very clever how she bound it with bias binding, like a quilt. The green binding contrasts nicely with all the red selvages. Very pretty, Sylvia!

Visit Sylvia's blog, especially if you are also interested in cooking: http://sylviareguero.blogspot.com/.

Meet Mercedes from Spain

Mercedes Jimenez from Madrid, Spain made this beautiful selvage pillow using her new sewing machine that does embroidery stitches. She decided to sample these stitches along the edges of her selvages. What a good idea. Quilters are so clever. Nice job, Mercedes!

See more about this project on her blog: http://www.mercedesinspain.blogspot.com/ (Be sure to scroll down for this post.)

Meet Maria Clara from Spain

Maria Clara from Spain made these selvage pin cushions. Aren't they nice? She used a tight little zig-zag stitch to secure the selvages, a good idea! I like that. Take a look at her blog:
www.my-house-of-the-tree.over-blog.es/ Even if you don't read Spanish, we can enjoy looking at the great photos.
Greetings and hugs to our visitors from Spain today!

Meet Veronica Santos of Spain!

Veronica Santos of Spain was inspired by a spider web quilt that she saw on http://www.quiltville.com/ so she made a beautiful one for herself. That's how quilters are, no matter what corner of the world we live in! We hear you, Veronica! And what a beautiful quilt it is!

She also made this clever selvage bag (shown open above, and shown folded closed below). What a good idea. I also like the use of the zig-zag stitch. You can see more of Veronica's quilting on her blog at: http://www.lascosasdevero.blogspot.com/. I can't read Spanish, but I enjoy the photos!
