Pre-Cuts from The Fabric Square Shop

I just received these pre-cut fabrics from Laura Sampsel's Fabric Square Shop. Aren't they delicious? I'm starting to appreciate how the variety in a charm pack can really jump-start a scrap quilt. Sometimes you just need a smidgen, not a whole fat quarter.

I couldn't help laying out a few squares of the pretty Kaffe squares above. (My surface was wavy; the squares are accurate.)

The soft arrangement below is a jelly roll called "Spring Magic" by April Cornell from Moda. I'm tempted to just sew all these strips together "as is" for a summer hammock quilt. (If I had a hammock. I guess I could set one up between 2 parking meters. I'd probably have to feed them quarters every 15 minutes. That sounds restful!) Just kidding, not whining!

Package Arrived from the Fabric Square Shop

Don't you love to get a package of fabrics in the mail? (Or by any other method?) These pre-cut collections arrived today from the Fabric Square Shop.

Below is "Oh-Cherry-Oh" by Me & My Sister Designs from Moda. I have lots of 1940-1950's-ish fabrics in my stash, and I'll add these to the mix to make some string quilts. That's the original plan anyway. We'll see what happens!

And I love all the Westminster/Rowan fabrics by Kaffe Fassett, Philip Jacobs, Martha Negley and those folks in the UK. All the colors and huge cabbage roses make me happy. I might just use these 6 1/2" squares "as is" for a simple one-patch quilt.

The 1930's style collection below is "Hello Betty" from Chloe's Closet by Moda. This is a layer cake (40 squares measuring 10" x 10"). I'm thinking about making some fast half-square triangles to create a baby quilt for the arrival of a friend's grand-daughter. The pinks and greens are a little brighter in real life than they appear in the photo.

Do you think my husband can expect a home-cooked meal tonight? Not likely! Happy quilting.
